Honestly I wasn't expecting such a huge turn out on this video. First, thank you all for the support and comments on the video. I want to address a few things.
1. The three fates they are giving were not confirmed for Global Side before, so the whole reason this rant video came out was solely because of the fact that they finally announce it. From my recollection, these were only announced on the CN side for CN players.
2. My statement on summoning for Cloud Retainer needed a little more clarification. I've had primos ready to use for Xianyun since before I made this rant video. I will not be summoning for Xianyun. I want Hoyoverse to treat this LIKE it's other games.
3. Regardless if Genshin and Honkai can be compared or not, the fact remains that there is a CLEAR preference in games from the company and it shows. Hell, even look at Dawei in both the 4.4 Genshin Livestream and the 2.0 Honkai Star Rail Livestream and tell me that he doesn't look/sound happier. Because Dawei even knows that currently, Genshin Impact is not in a good space.
Regardless of it all, I want to thank you all for showing support for the video, this has been my best performing video yet and I hope that that continues. I want to make content and love to do so. To make matters worse… those three intertwined fates in the mail, all the servers were going to get it. On the livestream they said everyone will be getting it. The three intertwined was never exclusively for the CN servers, only the skin selector. So the Genshin Devs actually did nothing after the complaints. They double down and basically said we really don’t care what you do

You see, I'm a story focused player. If it doesn't have a good story, or any story to begin with, I mostly likely will drop it or not play it at all. I played Undertale, the Assassin's Creed games of the old days, only played CoD for the campaigns, and whatever else has good story. I dropped competitive FPS games like Valorant and MOBAs like League, why? Because there's no story. There's lore sure, but the game isn't focused on showing that. That's the main reason why I play HoYo's games, or any gacha game for that matter. It's just that HoYo's games hit differently.
Starting with Honkai 3rd since 2016, surely everyone has heard of its reputation by now as the HoYo game with the story that makes you cry. Yes, there's been multiple updates in the past where I cried back to back, and I haven't even played since after Flamescion came out so I'm very behind (gonna come back on the 2.0 update). Because of this, when I heard that they were releasing Genshin, I made sure to play on launch, and I did.
Up to this day, I play the game everyday. Why? Because of the story. Sure it didn't have a stellar start with Mond and Liyue, but the foundation was there. With the writers being transferred over to the Star Rail team due to a lack of talent at the time, Inazuma had a bumpy asf road. But when they came back, bangers started happening. We had The Chasm, Sumeru, Fontaine, all certified bangers. Story went hard as they improved each and every update, and because of that, things are looking good for the future updates. With the lore community booming, this isn't stopping anytime soon.
And finally, we have Star Rail. When I heard of it, I made sure to check out immediately, and I was greeted with a Persona game by HoYo. Sign me the fuck up. Same thing happened, played on launch, and still play to this day. But I noticed something. I wasn't as hooked onto the game, and sure enough, it was because of the story. Don't get me wrong, Belobog was great, simple but effective, the Xianzhou Luofu was in my opinion, a mess. Compared to Belobog, there were too many plot points to handle, too many races to introduce, and having no story link between Planets unlike Genshin and its regions, it was all over the place. And since it looks like they're gonna pull a Liyue and expand on the story every year, we'll most likely get a new Xianzhou ship every year to expand the story. The problem with that is that it's gonna remain as a mess for a while. Though things are looking up for Penacony, can't wait to see what they're cooking up.
Now, what was the point of all of that talking? Well, this is what makes me somewhat indifferent to the current situation right now. If the story is good, I play. If bad, bye bye. And this is regardless of the rewards. You could give me a game with great rewards but a messy story and I won't play it (which is kinda Star Rail for me right now but I do still play it), but if you give me a great story with mediocre rewards (Genshin), I'll still play the fuck out of it. This is because as a story game player, getting to know the characters and learning about the world is way more of a reward to me that anything else could ever be. The primos and wishes only matter to me because they allow me to play as the characters I love, but I'm also a meta slave so I hyper min max my account to prioritize the strongest stuff, and this is to maximize primo gain so that in the future, I could be clearing things comfortably without having to pull for another meta character.
Am I personally affected by this whole situation? No, I'm unfazed. Do I think that it would be nice if things changed for the better? Yes, of course. Am I going to do anything about it? Nah, I'm good. I'm in college now, I have bigger problems to deal with. As long as the game continues to pump out good stories that will allow me to immerse myself whenever I have free time, then all good by me.

Nothing is gonna happen. You as the content creator will still summon for the new characters, and so will most people. Meaning, your words are empty. You are still giving this game money.

Since you stepped down from Honkai, their rewards have been generous. Step down from Genshin. You have no respect for the playerbase and you're not a generous man and people ARE NOT happy with you. THe issue is that while genshin has lost a few million followers on social they have 64M active users in January. Wanna guess how many they were in December? 61M. The vast user base does not care for this
