They should’ve made the fisticuffs a new weapon type 😛
I’m excited to see a new concept, but I can’t help but feel like Hoyoverse has something against a male caster-type character. Like they view catalysts as something feminine only which is ridiculous.
Just categorise all weapon types…simples. e.g. all guns, bows, catalysts can go into ranged category, which leaves melee category and maybe a few other types. That way you can bring many weapons and easily put them in one of those slots. We no longer have to be bound to just four types of weapon.
If you look at honkai characters, there is Herrscher of Sentience that equip gauntlets but uses sword,spear and chains to attack while wearing the gauntlets, or Herrscher of Flamescion that can equip pistols but attacks with a claymore. If they do it in Honkai they can do it in Genshin too… and this is happening

When I saw Heizou all I could think of is Fu Hua I literally want a collab with Honkai and like we got Fischel now we get Fuhua in genshin either Phoenix or AE
Too soon to tell. Weapon animation maybe but overall changes to the game, I'm still in doubt base on the leaks so far. He's an anemo dps thats it. Not really game changing in my opinion.

Funny,I was discussing about having a brawler type character to be implemented into Genshin with a brother of mine.
And that hopefully the male catalyst users would hold potential should future updates arise.
And guess what happened?
We got Heizou. 👏 First male catalyst AND brawler type.
I am happy to throw hands and those weekly bosses personally. 🙃

I'm honestly looking forward a catalyst user that manifest either a sword, claymore, bow, or polearm as a weapon from their respective element.

Just thought I would share that his name is pronounced Hey-zo not Hi-zao. However, you're free to pronounce his name the way you like.
Well yoimiya basically uses a gun
I was so excited to see a character in close quarter combat, finally a Martial Arts character. Then the catalyst appeared and I was so confused. Overall I really think Hoyoverse surprised me with this and did a great job of killing 2 birds with 1 stone. He's design makes more sense now that I've seen him in action. It's a good move for f2p. Although I do prefer the snappy and impactful punches and kicks in Honkai, this looks fresh. If Hoyoverse did introduce a guntlet weapon class. I was hoping for characters like Heizou would have more mobility. With 3 dashes instead of 2 like the other weapon class. That's 3 characters back to back I really look forward to.

we already have raiden who is polearm that uses a sword for her burst. And childe uses dual swords during his skill infusion.
A similar thing for a scythe, gun, or gauntlet is definitely more than possible and has been for a while. It's still very exciting however to have another! And even just more melee characters using catalysts would be very exciting, especially a brawler 5 star
Arataki uses a mace in his burst, but hey hes a claymore user. Same as Raiden who switches to a sword. To be honest it doesnt sit for me. On the other hand a catalyst users provides the vastest variants of forms of attack and it has sense. With catalyst users possibilities are really infinite

No, he uses his catalyst literally all the time to infuse his attacks. Yae Miko and Klee also don't use their catalysts if you think heizou doesn't use his.
Well there's a child who's a bow character but uses daggers and an oni kid who supposedly a claymore character but somehow also uses a club. So many possibilities.
Edit: I have an idea of a catalyst but their attack mostly using chain, would be really cool.
