I finally got my very first 5 star character after 80 pulls and it was a painful experience. I went from extremely angry to very happy for not losing my 50/50 on Kamisato Ayakaβs banner.
This is my first time ever playing Genshin Impact in 2023 and Iβm in love with this game.

Well she will be hard to ascend due to her mat only obtainable in Inazuma (unless you buy her mat in paimon shop but it's very limited) but I guess u can still learn and enjoy her gameplay, and maybe start farming her mat once u unlock the domain in Dragonspine.
Oh yeah in case your gacha addict continue (like most of us) and thinking of pulling her weapon too, make sure to set her weapon or else you will waste the pity if you get the different 5* weapons. Tho I personally think pulling a character weapon was a scam and not really advisable especially if you only need one weapon or if you're not a whale. Ayaka still good with F2P weapon choices.
1 have c10 qiqi. I have accepted my fate since mihoyo want me to be a qiqi main badly.

Congrats on getting Ayaka! To be fair tho, 80 pulls isn't that uncommon or bad luck. It's just a little below avarage. Most of my 5-starts I got were between 76 and 79 pulls, so yeah.
well 80 wishes is nothing considering top 5 dps is game is Nahida/Hutao/Eaiden/Ayaka/Ganyu
she is like stronger Kaeya with self infusion making chongyun obsolete + you can sprint infinite distance over water and never drown again π
sadly you wont be able to upgrade her until you reach inazuma

My plan was for both Ayaka and Shenhe and got both but lost my first 50-50 to Keqing who I love cause she's been my main since day 1 but not ideal. Took me like 230 wishes to get both, got Sucrose and Mika C6 and only 1 Diona in all that time haha.
I pulled on standard banner cause I knew I was so close and was hoping for Jean and it was Jean last night!
Belice me, it could have been much worse, it took me 172 wishes to get Hu Tao, losing 50/50 at 87 pity and then finally getting her…at 85….

if it's any consolation, that happened to me too. It costed me 70+ wishes to get my first 5* and still lost 50/50 to Jean(pulled for Alheim). However i love her, she is my main dps. Since that i have won 50/50 twice for Yelan c1 and now Ayaka.

You were lucky trust me. You actually won the 50/50. It's absolute despair when you get Mona instead of Ayaka.
People could argue that Mona is good blablabla… But Mona instead of Ayaka when you have no cryo dps for the abyss? Meh… Really meh.

Hey, no hate whatsoever but since your still very low ar and still far away from unlocking inazuma, its not a very wise choice for you to pull for her. And because the materials to uograde her is in inazuma, it will be impossible for you to ascend and upgrade ayaka. To get to inazuma you have to first get to ar 30, and you also have to unlock the inazuma archon quest. Just saying so if you want to pull a character again next time when you havent unlocked inazuma, make sure they are not from inazuma π
In my experience the average for me is around 74-76 pity, so it really wasn't that much more. But it can be frustrating, I know. Still it is unlikely that it will be like that every time. There will be luckier pulls.
Omg congrats on getting Ayaka, I pulled for her aswell, but lost my 50/50 to mona, which I've gotten twice before, and now I have no primos, and 0 pity, imma try and get her before the end of her banner tho!! She's the only 5 star character i want that I dont own, and I've tried to get her on all her banners, never gotten her once π

i got ayaka at pity 85 50/50, still salty because i literally saving up for kaveh but ending up to try on her banner yeahh finally got her but at high pity ππ

.. I played since launch and I've already grown to expecting a 5 star pull on 80 pulls so you'll get used to it π, at least you won 50/50..if not that's 160 pulls for the extremely unlucky π
Its completly normal to need 80 wishes to get character. thats actually lucky to not get other random 5 star and need another 80 to finally get a desired one. You should consider urself lucky
its pretty normal to pull around 70-80 times for a 5 star every one of the 4 5-stars i have has been around 70-80 pulls not to mention the 50/50 % chance of pulling the non banner 5 stars.
