  1. Xiangling isn’t that great, she has a lot of issues, the only reason she’s so dominant is because she fills a very important role that no other character really does so you’re forced to use her
Jean can be better as a healer in later rotations when you can take full advantage of her burst heal but other characters especially in the first few rotations can generate more fanfare like Xianyun
Eula’s scaling is still pretty solid, I wouldn’t call it “bad”

  2. HSR Speaking:

You just reminded me that I’ve got Jingliu + LC in 30 pulls, stopped playing star rail, and when I got back, she was completely useless, even with my E2 Bronya + LC

  3. Opinion : modern day unit feels so good and powercreeping old unit because they are not dependent on their burst. Arlle, Neuvi, Mualani, Clorinde, etc are the few example. Because they don't really need that much ER, make them can focus on offensive stat.

  4. After dumping into Ayaka and watching her get pushed into obscurity I never invest into DPS cons anymore. If they cant be played at C0, I don’t pull. Only support cons that have a direct and substantial effect on their capability to support. DPS cons inly improve one character. Support cons can improve many.

  5. I think that the element mattering more is true in most cases excluding Cryo. Cryo has nuts reactions but no characters use the element correctly. Would you honestly say that hydro is as good as it is with out crazy applicators like Xinqiu and Yelan

  6. i think that genshin powercreep is less abt newer characters having insanely higher scalings compared to older ones (though this is definitely a trend), but newer characters being significantly comfier to play than older ones. the last main dps to have their dmg tied to their burst was cyno in 3.1, since then every other dps has most of their dmg tied to their skill. like yes a character like arlecchino does more dmg than hu tao, but arle also has the benefit of not having to cancel charge attacks for optimal clear times and being able to switch out without losing her infusion. neuvi is obviously the best example of this, where yes his dmg is insane, but the reason he's so broken is that his laser isn't (technically) tied to his skill and burst, though you obviously kinda need those sourcewater droplets. he can switch out to reapply buffs like vv or group enemies without losing his infusion. he doesn't have interruption resistance at c0, but you can move around while attacking and his aoe range is insane. he's basically self sufficient in terms of healing. obviously not every newer character is quite this broken, but most of them have at least some of these upsides, or at least more compared to older units

  7. What i like about genshin is that even when powercreep happens, the difficulty floor remains in a space where u can still clear everything fully with lower tier characters so u dont rlly gotta care for powercreep even as a possibility.

  8. Great point man, It's also always more newer players chasing the meta that like to mention the powercreep and how our beloved mains since release are "far from a good character". But at the end of the day, this is genshin a silly gacha game that we play to have fun, not something you should really be competitive about so let us all enjoy playing the game as we please 💛💛

  9. ayato main here. can confirm power creep is painful lmao, I can't even begin to guess as to how many times someone's been like 'why are you using ayato just use neuvillette lmao' like… gee thanks haven't heard that one before LOL

(I'll be skipping neuvi's upcoming banner and I'm so sad about it because I love him as a character and want him home, big numbers aside. would LOVE to pull for him but I need to prioritize zhongli. even funnier is that if the rumors about a liyue chronicled wish coming up soon is true and tartaglia's on there, y'all can bet your bottom dollar I'll be pulling for childe, I love that man <3 can't wait for even more comments about not using a meta hydro dps)

  10. As someone who quit back in 2.6 and came back ONLY in 4.8, the power creep is REAL for me but i find it manageable; from 36* abyss consistently last time to when i came back (I could only 33* at most), once i got Xilonen i could already 36* again.

  11. Eula was also artificially powercrept with the addition of many enemies that resist physical and have elemental shields. Same thing with cryo and the freeze reaction, this was actually the first abyss in a while that i was able to run a ganyu freeze team and have it work for all 3 chambers (side 1). Venti is another case, he became completely irrelevant because he can't group almost anything in floor 12.

  12. Sumeru felt like there was powercreep with how impactful Nahida, Alhaitham and Baizhu, Yaoyao and Faruzan were at the time, but they felt different.

I'd say The huge powercreep happens in fontaine with Neuvillette and Chiori powercreeping both albedo and Ayato out(even as an ayato user man's being a jack of all trades master of none getting to him, Even childe has bis home for him.) and Xianyun being the 1st healer to provide significant buffs and then boom natlan has Xilonen who broke neuvillette even more to high heaven and even buffed other units.

Is it just me or is it possible that there hasn't been a burst reliant dps because of cyno?

i wonder if it may possibly be due to multiwave scenarios and due to er?

Alhaitham, Neuvillette, Arlecchino, Clorinde, Navia, and Kinich, Wriothesley(yes at c0.) it almost felt like the newer dpses don't need too much er and aren't burst reliant or they have ease of use or flexiblity in rotations like Alhaitham with his mirror mechanics or Arle with keeping her infusion while switching.

  13. Back in 2020 I never thought it would be possible for Hoyo to indirectly buff old characters over and over again, but somehow they manage to keep doing it. It really takes a load off how terrible the gacha system is…

  14. HSR have worst power creep based what I experience in that game. Genshin it's not really big deal, since even no international still top 10 use meta team.

I quit after i got black swan in her initial release. I realized that after I saw Jingliu and Dang L power creep every thing. Now it's severe if you don't have Meta character you can't do the hard content in that game (Which mean less Rewards)

  15. The real powercreep is the exploration abilities they're always slightly better than the last like keqing, alhaitham, chiori teleports new ones goes 2 to 3 steps farther.
Also in star rail it has animation powercreeping nowadays E look like some old bursts.

  16. I have hu tao and never felt a difference from arl. To be fair tao is C1, but I dont think the gap is that much dmg wise! The thing with hu tao is that she can be difficult to play

  17. At some point it doesn't matter how much damage a single character can do. Because of enemy delays( invincibility phases, spawning location, jumping out of reach…) and character burst animations and cycling through rotations , you can't beat Abyss faster than a set time, which is about 45 seconds for the consacrated beasts in this abyss cycle.

If you can already do that with your current account you don't need a new DPS that will do more damage because it won't make a difference and probably trade off ease of use with clunkiness(like Kinich)

  18. Basing the characters around elemt reactions and basically providing several layers of buffer between the damage the characters do makes it easy to keep them fairly balanced because the main source of damage doesn’t come from your characters, it comes from your artifacts, weapons, and the elemental reaction system, and if your DPS is being buffed by other characters on your team, then you’re golden, regardless of how powerful any individual stat increase other characters have
