  1. For me, the problem is that you need to dedicate a lot of time and energy to build your characters. Like you have to farm everyday because of the resin system. I play genshin to have fun, but then it became like a chore to me. Even after grinding non-stop, I couldn't build my characters as I hope. I remember spending 3 whole months farming the defense set for Itto but all I get is trash. That's when I slowly became fed up with genshin and I finally took a long break after they released the desert area.

Meanwhile, I could play HSR twice a week and still could farm efficiently thanks to the reserved trailblaze power.

Edit: I think another problem is that Paimon narrates everything lol. I just hate her voice. When I play HSR I just could enjoy the game and relax 😂😂

  2. Also 20:19 yes

In Mondstat there's a path that feels like its haunted with dying trees and shadowed paths
In Dragonspine there's a lone hilichurl, sitting alone by a fire.
In Liyue there's a path by a waterfall that leads into a bamboo forest next to a swamp
In Inazuma there's an entire island with vegetation and landscape that looks like it rose from the sea
In Sumeru's jungle there's a spot few a few shallow spots of water where mushroom gather. Not far from there is what appears to be a cult of mushrooms
Sumeru's desert is one of my favorite areas because it's broken into three parts, the standard desert with several underground temples, the storm area where the environment gets harder to navigate and a giant worm attacks you, and the swamp where water and vegetation is more abundant than before
In Fontaine there's a big hilichurl, sitting all by himself under a tree, surrounded by birds
And while I haven't been to the chasm or enkonomiya in forever (RIP) I still remember the feeling of first exploring them. An ancient lost city, a giant canyon ripped a part in an ancient battle, and the haunted underground that gets more corrupted the further down you go, and yet you can always find small points of light within it

I'm not saying Genshin is better than BotW. I don't care about that debate. If I did I'd have said something stupid about the breakable weapons. What I'm saying is 20:19 yes, there are things to explore in Genshin Impact that I do find value in

  3. what we've seen so far is that mihoyo reacts when you touch their wallet, so the only hope now is competition
if Project Mugen and Wuthering Waves make big success, things may move a little even tho players have time & money sunk cost fallacy in genshin

  4. for hsr i completely agree to skip early floors, there are so many of them,
but i don't agree with genshin skipping floor 9 to 11
most people that i know, casual and spender, enjoy these early floors, and they're skipping floor 12 because they don't want extra work or just don't want to play too hard.
genshin can add more floors beyond 12 and i'm all for it, but skipping early floors is not a good idea in general.

  5. To be honest the open world of genshin made me really exited and I completely hunted EVERY SINGLE CHEST in just 2 weeks… then after that every time I log in I just go to where the daily quest is, go to where the Ley Lines is or go to where I need to farm the artifacts and materials I need to level up my weapons and characters and then I realize that I don't feel excited about Genshin's open world now because I can just teleport to where I want to be.

  7. I love your content, I think I agree with most of your opinions, but I believe that there is probably still a small chance for the game to improve, sales fell a few months ago, and the fact that mihoyo is still producing new games, makes it for shareholders It's very ugly if a game simply closes unfinished, in other words, the option of taking the profits from Genshin and moving on to the next game is not so simple, which is why I believe that if sales get worse they will probably implement things in the game so that people don't stop or return to the game, but this has to happen within 1 year at most, if sales continue to be good, there's really nothing to do about it, and if they get much worse, but this only happens close to the end of the game, the game will probably be unfinished or will have a weak ending, due to it not being financially viable, as I think the game still has about 2 years to live, I believe that within a year if things get worse financially for the game, they will get better for the players. Anyway, top video!

  8. I pointed this out on the original video too, but it's weird that he put up that video AFTER Genshin's huge QOL update. Since he had already made videos like this before asking for these features. Then Genshin gets them plus more and he just continues to complain. I get that these features are late, but genshin now has features that HSR doesn't. You'd think he'd give em a little more credit instead of Nick picking small things like dailies. Which btw, he made a video about before doom and glooming for no reason… 🤷

  9. The only thing I hate about genshin is that the anniversary should be the main event of a game and a time to get more players into playing the game. I played so much gacha that they always go all out on the anniversary free pulls, free characters, and events that only happen during the anniversary. The anniversary should be memorable. When the Genshin anniversary happens, it just passes by.

  10. Honkai Star Rail isn't the Genshin Killer tbh, solely because Mihoyo wins either way.

Now, if someone were to release an open-world Gacha game, with better quality of life, a well-written story, and a more generous gacha (whilst still being ludicrously profitable), and all based on an existing popular IP, then I'd argue Mihoyo would have to step up their game.

It's a similar thing in the MMO scene. WoW was uncontested for years despite a perceived decline in quality and increasing hostility towards their own customers, until the abuse scandal was the last straw after several poorly received expansions. It just so happened than an already-established MMO happened to exist, and was more than willing to accept an influx of new players.

  11. Notice how quickly Mihoyo responds to feedback on their other games, especially to the Chinese community. I'm sure GGZ has seen the most changes over its service life, but then it is their oldest live game. And then there's HI3 , which has seen at least two revisions to its beginning, and is currently being completely overhauled for Part 2. What's interesting is that HI3 sees its highest popularity in its SEA server, and partly because of that, they added a language dub just for them, otherwise the only languages available are Chinese and Japanese. They did say in an interview that they wanted a full, global release for HI3 , but lacked the resources. The result is that Genshin got that release instead. But the team responsible for Genshin is much more passive, and not as generous with the players, as the teams responsible for GGZ or HI3 and HSR . It's going to be very interesting when ZZZ is released, to see how it's managed too, and whether players who are looking particularly for the combat experience go to HI3 instead if there are too many TV sequences.

HI3 also has a lot of stuff that would be substantial improvements if they were applied to Genshin , but considering they haven't used them, I consider it very unlikely they ever will. Stamina overflow; consumables for rerolling and locking affixes; battlesuit skills you can turn on or off with a radial switch. Just a few easy examples.

Or how about the ability to get some A-ranks and even some S-ranks from the shops? I know many players are looking for Chevreuse right now, but I never roll for a particular 4-star only. Because there's no guarantee on them.

  12. after 3 years of genshin abusing me i too have put it down, just the mere thought that the game is mechanically almost the exact same as on release just makes me feel like an absolute idiot to continue playing it.
