Isn't it interesting that the narrator in this one is Venti… I wonder whether this was intentional or just a placeholder. The first option makes the story a lot more intriguing. Like, Venti seems to be a very important character and is implied to have known traveller prior to the start of the game. And he was also seen by Dain 500 years ago. Kinda interesting….

I'm getting strong vibes from Destiny 1 (and D2 after Shadowkeep) introduction. Everything is mysterious and unknown, we don't have much revealed in intro… being honest, showing us cutscene from official version with Unknown God later could be a good idea. Paimon wouldn't be suspected from the beginning and we'd have to search not only for our sibling, but also something to reawake our memories. Little shame they went into full clarity.
And before you roast me, I know how poor and bad D1 story and lore had been shown. And I know why. But Genshin here not only tells us story, but just like in Destiny and/or Dark Souls, gives us more lore information in books, items descriptions, in NPCs dialogue and voice overs. One of the best things in Destiny and Dark Souls universes is the feel of unknown before the player. In Genshin everything neccessary is showed, but additional stuff that forces us to think and theorize is rather hidden. This is a perfect way thanks to which we can understand the basics and make our own theories, avoiding thinking we don't care about what we see without context (Destiny 1) or reading very long thoughts elsewhere (Dark Souls).
The only problem in discovering history there is gacha element – being F2P or small "whale-like", you have to read characters/weapons lore on Fandom Wiki. And It's fully understable; someone lucky may got 5* or 4* you couldn't and write their character story/voice overs on Fandom Wiki.
But there's another problem – time limited events. In versions 1.3 and 1.4, Lantern Rite and Windblume Festival weren't so much important and you could say, they were additional lore, expanding the world of Teyvat. However, another Fatui Harbringer, Scaramouche, introduced in 1.1 (revealing info about Harbringer Number 1 and sentence that born theory about fake sky of Teyvat) and whole event related to Dragonspine "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" with weird and hiding many secrets Albedo, in my opinion, felt important and making them time-limited was a stupid mistake.
Let's hope Mihoyo know what they're doing and will suprise us many times in future…

I think i remembered how surprised i was when the 2nd beta's opening scene was different than what I know gdhsgshd and then they kept the new opening scene until the official release cuz well it is better than the 1st beta's opening scene tho i wish i could see the 1st opening scene again for the art was just gorgeous😩👌
