  1. Kaeya and Diluc were not actually brothers, Kaeya was left near the Dawn Winery, so Crepus had no choice but to take him in.
CN translations state that Kaeya and Diluc are just "sworn brothers", which can be a BL term within CN telenovelas and dramas which mean: "two people who are not related by blood and share similar interests, ambitions, or responsibilities, and see each other as siblings."
The mistranslation from CN to ENG greatly affected different players' views on said ship, which is the main problem that caused this.

I don't ship both of them but this is really just stupid and blown way out of proportion. Different people from different upbringings with different cultural backgrounds will always see things differently, even if its by a mistranslation or whatnot. But we have to take into account that Mihoyo is a Chinese company, so of course, they have their different cultural views on this "sworn brothers" trope.

Taking all this into account, nothing here can justify people's xenophobic and racist remarks on people who ship these sorts of things. Saying that "Chinese people are just as bad as the Russians" are not helping. This is blatant racism and should NOT be tolerated.

Plus, we have to take headcanons into the fray, as most of the Kaeluc I've seen was just headcanons, and different alternate universes. Nevertheless, it is ultimately Mihoyo's decision here, and seeing that they have retweeted and reposted (with permission, I think,) Kaeluc shipping arts, I believe they are perfectly fine with it.

The real problem is really just the toxicity surrounding it. It's as if Kaeluc flushed a baby down a toilet and commited several war crimes. It's fiction, and people who cannot separate fiction from reality are the ones who are doing the most harm in these kinds of "shipping wars" (or whatever it's called.)

Just end the hate. It's not needed in these trying times.

  3. when will these people understand that the Chinese people will know best because it is a Chinese game?? It’s like how people are really thinking these characters from tears of Themis are 12 because the game is set in 2030. Smh

  4. OMG IM LAUGHING SO HARD. 2:04 when he called Qiqi (Chi-Chi) ki-ki. I know it’s not that funny, as a Genshin player myself I probably can’t pronounce half the stuff right, but still it caught me so off guard

    LOCK THE DOORS TIGHT.

  7. Some people are saying that Kaeluc is wrong and then proceed to read found family to lovers fanfiction lol
I don't even like the ship, I just find funny how dumb the western fandom is

  8. It's the same on Pinterest. The comment section under most Kaeluc fanarts consists of 'BuT tHeY aRe BrOtHeRs!' and comments in Russian telling the first group in no uncertain terms where to stick it XD The Russian side is fuming, so it's often a hilarious read ('Cut it out and get a life instead of harassing people you absolute morons' would be an extremely polite summary).

The weird thing is this. As far as I can tell, the Russian version of Genshin was translated from English, rather than from Chinese. So, Diluc and Kaeya are described as 'adopted brothers' in the Russian version of the game as well. But at some point the whole Kaeluc 'drama' began, and the Chinese concept of 'sworn brothers' was explained by various players. The Russian fandom basically said 'Ok, new info, got it, fixed it in my mind', while the English-speaking fandom… well. I think I may have blocked several hundred Pinterest users already, just to enjoy my innocent ship in peace.

Also, my favorite 'Even if they are sworn brothers, that's still being literally called brothers' is the same level of argument as 'Evolutionary theory is not real cause it's literally called a theory'.
