Played GTA Vice City Stories as a kid way back in the day and would love to see you're reaction to all the cutscenes Ken and Bethany. 😀
You should do the cutscene collections for the Metal Gear series (assuming you don't play the Master Collection).
Yeah I like him for many reasons, his voice (Griffin Burns) his appearance, the colours and overall clothing looks good on him, his stance/position he's in, the fact that he has two weapons, obviously his Foul Legacy transformation, and the fact that even though he's technically a bad guy, he's more of an anti-hero similarly to what Ken said. And with what Bethany said, we see him in a light most people can easily relate to. He'll do good things when he can, like literally, just before we meet him for the first time, The Traveller is being chased so Childe jumps over us out of nowhere and he saves us, he's not heartless and lastly, he's kinda based off of a real person named Ajax. (I believe) That together makes him my favourite character in the game.
I believe there was once a petition started by one of the player's to allow us to use his Foul Legacy transformation, which while I definitely agree, I wish we could use that, it would be far too overpowered.
Great reaction Ken snd Bethany, I love how you reacted to certain moments, especially the part where he took out all those Ruin guards and I love what you said at the end and how yeah, we only see him through our eyes and what we see, not who he really is.

It would be better to focus on main missions rather than story missions
That chef has a daughter who’s a playable character. She too believes spice is everything and anything can be an ingredient. Their business is booming for it.😅
Childe is one of the examples of gameplay vs character, where I can like one but not the other. I started playing after the game has been out for a while, and didn't play this story quest until maybe a couple months ago, so for a while I had a bit of a dislike for his gameplay.
It's obviously not an unplayable character, it just doesn't flow well with how I play. As for his character I was always confused about why he seemed friendly with the traveler, or why they never seem that cautious with him. Naturally, being a newer player, I assumed there was a limited time event with story and character development that I missed, again. In all honesty there probably was.
I sort of had the "Didn't he try killing us, and destroy a city?" And while I believe Zhongli said he would intervene if it seemed the people couldn't win, but I didn't really feel that made Childe's stance better, pawn in schemes or not. I also had beef with Zhongli as well for a bit.
Voicelines might also shed light on it, I don't have him. When you get a character there's a friendship level, which unlocks dialogue in the vocielines and story section for the character, where you can learn more about them. Can learn their hobbies, their view on other characters, even read the story how they got a vision and so on. These can make some stuff clear, but I can't really say these count, as with Wanderer, not only did I never play the event where he showed up, I got the playable character before ever meeting him in game.
The story quest is a pretty good way of doing a character that's an enemy more so because he's on the other side rather than being completely bad and swayed me from only looking at him in confusion as to why no one seems to remember he summoned an old god thing to attack Liyue Harbor, pawn or not. I do sort of regret not playing it until I needed primos, the in game currency you can use to get wishes which you use to get characters.
But, unlike certain events I HAVE managed to play, some story quests are recommended to be played before starting the event for one reason or another. I never had that with him so I sort of just ignored him for a while.
Funny you should mention a Genshin Impact/Dead by Daylight cross-over…
Out of all the Fatui Harbingers, the 11th, Tartaglia aka Childe is the most chill out of all of them. He's the first 5star limited character that I got when I first played genshin and he is so cool and fun to play with. Even though his playstyle aren't that much like for other players because of his CD skill but still, he is still the best for me…..
Also, the irony at the last scene about Teucer stating that if Tartaglia had a chance, he would quit his job and join the Traveler on their adventure. Well, from the previous beta version or I just heard about it, don't know if it's true or not, Tartaglia was designated as the Traveler's companion.
Well childe is the most trustworthy harbinger after i guess arlecchino but you will get to know it. All harbinger arent just broken , some are just pure evil. There are very little like childe
I ver much enjoy Childe as a character, he gets more and more complex the more you dive into his lore and story and he is a great rival type to the traveler where he very much sees us as his friend but also his challange.
Oh yeah…Dottore… "sigh" He'll be important later.
Another character story that makes my top 10. It was neat to see the family man side of Childe and crumbs of Fatui and Shneznaya lore.
Fun fact, ruin gaurds are one of those enemies that give new players a hard time at first, but become easier once you're used to combat
I still feel the same way now about this quest that I did back when first playing it in 2020. Any time we can get any shrivel of Harbinger lore I love it. Even with Tartaglia who is the one we know the absolute most about (at least at the time of this quest in game). Even just hearing another harbinger mentioned by him had me rabid, and that was before even knowing anything about Dottore other than his name.
When Genshin gives us the lore in even the smallest of sprinkles it's always the best possible timeline.
He was my first character I went for in the game. I love his design and his battle style with turning water into any weapon like double swords and then into a spear is soooo cool. Better yet he had an amazing Story Quest. I love that his character has layers and isn't so black-and-white with his outlooks and attitudes.
Childe has a lot of layers to him that aren’t supposed to be notable upon first meeting.
Hence why I like these character quests that explore them a bit more.

"Yeah, Childe was a character we were so suspicious of, had a really bad first impression of, and could never really move past it and trust him after that, yeah" Understandable. He DID resurrect an ancient sea diety and tried to drown Liyue Harbor with it, after all.

Another thing about Childe is that he didn't join the Fatui willingly. It's only mentioned in his profile story but he got sent to the military at the age of 14 by his father, and became a Harbinger later.
We also know that one of the higher ranked Harbingers, the Rooster, takes care of Childe's family back in Snezhnaya, which… might be a potential threat for Childe in case he ever wanted to stop serving the Tsaritsa.
Childe is a good example why i like the Fatui Harbingers, or at least they seem to be among the most interesting for me. They clearly do some dangerous things, but once in a while we see their soft side. And this contrast is really cool ^^
Note that Childe did not joined the Fatui willingly, he was forcefully constricted by his father because of what happened to him in the past(spoilers).
The saddest part about Childe working so hard to protect his little brother and be the 'defender of childhood dreams' is that he himself had his childhood ruined by a certain event that happened to him. I won't spoil what it was but it radically changed him from a sweet quiet kid to a cocky brash person with an obsession of getting stronger, who's always picking fights and getting in trouble. His dad had no idea how to handle him and sent him to join the fatui at the age of 14 in hopes that military training will help to fix his attitude. However, Childe ended up beating fully trained soldiers and went on to become the youngest ever harbinger of the fatui

I absolutely hated Tartaglia when he first betrayed us, and it went on like that for a while. But then, being the big softie that I am, I did a 180 after seeing his love for his family. His demo also shows off his tendencies as a guy who prioritizes family. I got him in his first rerun, read his entire story, and the rest is history. To this day, he's still my favorite hydro male character.
If you guys enjoyed his performance here… well, there's more where that came from sometime in the future 😊 I always enjoy your reactions.
You guys should definitely react to the animated short from genshin it’s called “the road not taken” it compares the twins i promise it will be worth it, it will make you even more interested in the genshin story quest
so basically Childe is still a human while the fatui dude from the zhongli quest is a prick for no reason at all which is a fair assessment lmao

Childe is a character i hold a great amount of love for and i look forward to his every appearance. I think next year when Snezhnaya drops we will get the 2nd story quest that this one set up for towards the end. I doubt we would visit his home during an Archon quest.
The dude is surprisingly one of the most lore-wise important playable characters we have to date. Hes the Mr. Worldwide of Genshin, hes just everywhere.
Hes just a silly little dude. His fellow Harbingers arent fond of him due to differences in work approach and supposedly his personality is ill-suited for the job. Hes cunning but tries to think the best of others and often gets used by them. Hes "a ruthless killer" but hes also a protector of childhood dreams and the "bestest big brother ever". Hes friendly and cheerful yet his eyes are completely dead. Hes most alive during situations which threaten his life. Hes "kind of a bad guy" and technically our enemy but hes also sort of our friend. Hes fiercely loyal to the Tsaritsa but on our first encounter he became so fond of the Traveler that hed be willing to quit and join us on our travels.
Such a great character who has yet to even peak.
So the quest that putted us on better terms with childe.
Its also the first time dottore is mentioned.
Wont say much about dottore since you will see him at one point but im going to give you the information that we had at the time about it.
He is a 10/10 evil scientist that commited a lot of crimes(i think he has the biggest amount out of any characters in genshin at the moment).
Also the fact that he was casually able to create a factory that replicated ruin guard wich considering that from the playlist i have seen that you played the quest with dain so you now know the lore of the ruin guards it tell how impressive he is.
This man casually made an automatic factory that replicated the tecnology of a 500 years old civilization,had the material from wich they are made of wich if im not wrong is currently unknown,got bored of his achievement and left.
That says how powerfull he is.
