  1. it's funny that they have to specify "white in skin tone" since half of the characters live in a place based on china with names like Xingqui, Xinyan, Zhongli, Baizhou, Qiqi, Xiao

  2. These people boycotting Genshin Impact do not understand anything behind the game. There are regions in the game that are themed after countries in the real world; however, we only know of 2. These two are Monstadt, which is themed after Germany, and Liyue, which is themed after China. We also have some details about Snezhnaya, which is themed after Russia, and they are somewhat portrayed as the villains. There are also other themed regions that are to be released in the years to come. The upcoming region, Inazuma, is themed after Japan. Other regions are going to be themed after India, Egypt, France, and one such region is themed after indigenous America. But the point stands that with only German, Chinese, and Russian inspired character designs only known, explain to me how there would be a dark skin toned character. Yes, I know Asians have appeared with darker skin-tones, but surely a Chinese company would know how to make a Chinese themed region, right?
The hillichurls are just common mobs that are very similar to bokoblins in BOTW. Genshin players only say that hillichurl should be cared for as a joke, because of how many times we attack them and how they aren't exactly dumb either. It's just like how the players like to call Paimon "Emergency Food". But we have no lore behind hillichurls other than that communication is somewhat possible. If anything, I'd say hillichurls are inspired off of BOTW bokoblins, due to the fact Genshin Impact has taken quite a fair amount of inspiration from it. You can easily find stuff where people have compared the 2 games, to point that people have called Genshin a BOTW copy.
To clarify as well, the security concerns of players getting hacked is not new and has been a consistent problem due to lack of account safety. The account safety problem is just being used as fuel. Not a problem that arose with the hashtag trend.

  3. I'll give them the 2FA, that's been a concern we players have raised with Mihoyo since the beginning. We can secure our accounts to some extent, but some people have still gotten hacked, and Mihoyo is slow to restore people's accounts — and they don't reverse charges made while hacked. That has to be done through the bank, and if an account ends up with a negative primogem balance, it can be banned.

But the Twits missed the bigger issue: we cannot pet the cats and dogs!

  4. I'm surprised the Twits aren't raging over the characters' outfits. Though maybe that's because the guys are dressed somewhat similarly to the women. Also, character models make it difficult to guess what their ages are supposed to be sometimes. Both Flora and Ella Musk are examples of NPCs with child-like bodies, but professional positions. Additionally, you have people like Barbara, Fischl, and Bennett who are fully in their own positions in the Church and Adventurer's Guild. And then there're QiQi, Xiao, Venti, and Ganyu who are definitively older than they appear (by at least a thousand years in all cases). Also, they're fictional characters.

  5. Dont play genshin impact, not coz its racist . . . But coz for a modern gatcha its grindy with low pull rates, awful banner system, less rewarding end game content, god awful repetitive grinding system, stupid decisions like over buffing a character coz 💸. Its the biggest time waster in the planet. It has great graphics sure, but eye candy will not keep me entertained.

again, Its not racist. just a pretty shit gatcha game lol

  6. Twitter: Chinese game is rasist for having a non-human race that dances like indigenous people and there aren't enough "dark" players characters.
    Meanwhile, regarding real-life China: crickets
Hey, Twitter, grow the f*ck up and prioritize real shit!

  7. Actually, I want to ask anyone who says that a character is not dark skinned enough to fully describe the physical features of a character they would consider dark enough. I bet you they'll just describe a racist caricature of black people.

  8. I agree on boycotting it, but for its predatory lootbox and "pay-for-energy" shitty mechanics.

Strangely, never thought Cancel Culture Twitterati have the balls to go against a company with CCP backing.

  9. Given that one is clearly in charge of mondstadt's spy agency and the other is a Rock Punk girl who likes to literally light the world on fire while beating you with a claymore. Scary and exotic sound like a nice way to put it. By the way I really like Kaeya. Haven't seen much of the punk but she seems alright from what I've seen.
