  2. I would prefer an abyss endless mode similar to the plant vs zombie game endless mode. You can see the enemies line up for each floor and prepare your team for that. And each floor could be semi-random picks of enemies.

  3. As a Day 1 F2Player, I always disliked the only endgame focus being Abyss centered, it's so dull and monotonous, especially when the main drive for the game is the beautiful world and exploration.
I hoped Mihoyo would eventually move away from that loop, but they don't really seem interested in shaking things up aside from events…which makes no sense considering the amount of assets they create for something that'll only last like a month.

  4. Thoughts on not being able to level characters because you don’t have the boss materials; introduce a dream solvent type material for boss materials. IE: pyro Regisvine heart into a Cryo one

  5. The one thing I absolutely hate in this game is,people spending money to make the game easier and then complaining the game is easy. Please shut up about things dying too quickly when you spent money so that things die quickly. I absolutely detest this category of players in Genshin. If you want the game to be hard stop spending butt loads of money and don't complain about things dying too quickly when you do spend money.

  6. I think it would be cool if they did a leaderboard reward system like Punishing Gray Raven (Pain Cage) for the Abyss or a new mode. There could be separate leaderboards for certain AR Ranges, and within the leaderboard, you can be assigned points for things like clear time, percent of hp remaining, and damage done. If you fall into a certain percentile by the end of the Abyss rotation, you can get some rewards.

  7. The thing about nerfing Bennett, Xingqiu, and Xiangling is that, well, mihoyo's history of compensation is pretty bad. In Hearthstone when a card gets nerfed you get a full refund on the crafting materials for it. You don't get any compensation for any decks you built around it, which is really annoying, but you get something. What could possibly compensate someone for the primogems sunk into summoning those characters in their constellations, as well as farming ascension and talent materials?

Like, think of what the compensation was for Raiden's C6 being misleadingly written or something. It was, what, a few hundred primos? That's nowhere near compensation for a 5* C6. I can see why nerfing would help with design space but I don't really think mihoyo will get this right. Besides, this isn't a PvP game so I don't think having broken units is as bad.

  8. 53:50 I kinda think that mihoyo cracked the code on that, atleast for me. Elysian Realm is a new gamemode in mihoyo's other game Honkai Impact, where we play a selected number of characters that gets buffs that significantly alter the gamplay. It's rougelite-ish, and its the sole reason I came back to honkai and kept playing it. I know that a lot of people complains about the game mode that its to grindy to get the buffs we want, but i really enjoy the replayability and new ways to play old characters and I would hope they ported it into Genshin.

  9. I think genshin championship can work in the right healthy way.
Instead of letting people use their broken godroll artifacts, there should be trial characters that have a certain percentage of their power level.
My example for this is like, let's give Amber have 2k atk with 60/150 crit ratio.

My addition would be, they should give once a week there'll be c0 characters only and for the next week we'll have all have a specific constellation. Like all c2, all c4, all c6. Which will let people experience characters a difference way every reset.
This could also be good for future potential spenders.

  10. Interesting topic on the target audience. I used to work for a certain big Korean Gacha game publisher (N***n) and handled 5 different Gacha games and how it was done in that company might be insightful to how Mihoyo does it too.

For the most part on launch its about garnering a community in order to get the whales in, the biggest whales or the 1% would be paying for almost 5x to up to 10x the 99% of the playerbase and as long as they have ways to flex they will continue to play because of Sunk Cost. So after the initial whales have been caught, the remainder of game's life span is to ensure that the game stays relevant, which is what I think Genshin is doing as well. Content may not be catered to the whales but instead to new players and the casual to ensure that there's still buzz around the game and keep people talking about it. Whales will never quit because of Sunk Cost, not unless the game dies, and the game will only die when there's an absence of new players or a mass exodus of casuals. Welkin and Battlepass is only a way to earn from the casuals, because before there really was no way to earn from the F2P except as toys for the whales, but now by giving stuff like Welkin they can somewhat charge them as well but at a lower cost. Essentially unless the biggest spenders of the game quit because of not having hard content, they don't really need to cater to them all that much, the Sunk Cost will do that for them. If they do quit then they'll release maybe a new Vagabond or maybe Abyss 13 to bring them back and repeat the cycle of sunk cost.

Then there's Fomo, new players will hear about the old events that may or may not be repeated, it'd be weird we get a rerun of Unreconciled Stars no? Which essentially forces casual players to keep playing new events so that they don't miss out.

  11. On the end point of Bennett, XQ, XL and Beidou being too strong for a 4*, that's exactly what allows for "roll who you like" meta. Imagine the difference between account with Kazuha, Ganyu and Venti and account with Yoimiya, Kokopium and Klee otherwise. "Bricked account" is a funny meme but it wouldn't be so funny when it would be true.
Everyone having access to extremely powerfull building blocks is a good thing, not a bad one. Inazuma 4* being trash isn't. Just imagine 5 years down the line someone starting account on mediocore banner and having no access to good units because standard pull is diluted by awfull 4* that only function with other specific 5* in specific comps and need c6 on top of that. Thoma and Sara are just yikes.

  12. Hello Mr. Tenten, I often heard back in the previous podcast about the Venti Sucrose Bennett Raiden team comp. I was wondering how does that team function and what does the other anemo unit uses cause 2 veridicent set doesn't stack right? Can you expound on how and why that team is good.
