Another 5* that I think should be mentioned in regards to 12-1-2 is Jean. Jean and Bennett’s sunfire interaction is really strong against herald’s shields.
Though my favorite team to run in the second half is Nahida national, where Nahida replaces anemo slot.
Hoyoverse is just testing my patience and my pc is in danger…
Nothing is hard to kill but they are all SO FUCKING ANNOYING TO FIGHT AND JUST TIME CONSUMING
I think Layla and Thoma could also be good on team 2.
Ngl all the heralds dying at the same time at the end was pretty satisfying…

Survivability was indeed a problem to me for the second half.
I'll definitely go for more survivability on the second half on the next re-clear. Something like Xingqiu, Beidou and Bennett… The last unit is gonna be Xiangling or Kazuha.
Some survivability for 12-3-1 is also necessary, but IMO nothing comparable to 12-1-2.
For this Abyss 12 I used Yae, Raiden, Kazuha, YaoYao for the first half and Nahida, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett for the second half. But once again, surviving 12-1-2 was a pain.
12-1 first half you don’t need anemo to group them. Just know where to stay to lure them. Anyway anemo with VV set is useful, because 12-3 first half request high dps.
What about 12:3 first part?

I finished 12-1 with Raiden + Bennett + XL + Nahida, but then i decided to reset and put XQ instead of Raiden to help with the Pyro shield of the last boss and… boy oh boy… I just couldn't finish 12-1-2 again for like… 1h!? Characters just kept dying over and over again NotLikeThis
Then, after finally passing 12-1 again, my Nahida died to the Bat AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME as he died too, so… yeah… fuck my life.. I just alt+f4'd out of this fucking game 😭

The best way I found to shred through the shields in second half while also doing a considerable amount of damage is with Nahida National, (Nahida/Xingqiu/Bennett/Xiangling), you have a ridiculous amount of application while being healed by Bennett and getting lots of vapes/burgeons which helps make it a lot easier

The most infuriating Abyss so far, without doubt. Even with your guide and having all sorts of characters available, I still cant get even close to full star this round. Thank you though for the tutorial!

I think Bennett or Jean is a must in 2nd chamber since they renove debuff & freeze consistently. In Bennett case though, it's double edge sword. While he is superior opt than Jean as unit, his pyro self apply also means we can be hit w/ melt/vaporize & loss lot of hp. Therefore I think it's important to point out if use Bennett but bad at iframe than bring shield. If good at iframe, than try bennett to use as early as possible, especially before get debuff.
I cant effing do it, i have cracked characters with their weapons and constellations and i still cant beat it, this is BS. You need perfect comps or sweaty skills to even qualify to beat 12-1. These heralds cant die fast enough ffs! 🤬
Hey man, I just want to say thank you. Not really a great guide out here right now for this abyss. I'm a low end whale, imo lol. with a few 5 stars c6 but not a huge roster of 5 stars. I was struggling hard just not dying to do the abyss heralds with international team. your advice on the timing and dodging really helped me clear 12-1 which is by far the hardest part!
disregarding burgeon in the second side is a little sus… when it is arguably the strongest team to bring into side 2 overall. burgeon alone hard carries side b and having the hydro will prove useful vs Baptist's pyro shield. also thunder manifestation being infused by electro means a burgeon/OL character eats it for breakfast.
-thoma/diluc/klee /c4 yanfei + bennett + dendro mc/nahida/yao yao + Xingqiu: flexible enough team that you can put leftover characters from the dps check vs consecrated beast
