  1. I'm genuinely just sad from this interview…

  2. Good game development has nothing to do with how easy it is implement a feature or the potential it has to excel in its respective field. Data driven decisions have grown their business. Spiral abyss engagement is just one of the many parameters that tell the company what players prefer to do, and more importantly – what kind of activities help both grow the game in popularity and income. That's the bottom line. Everything in this video is unrelated delusional hopium.

  3. As I've said, time and time again on many places with varying level of acceptance and acknowledgment, this game was my favourite not because of what it is, but what it could've been.

And with the gameplay and marketing team being very mediocre compared to the music and design team, yeah. I'm glad that I quit, and yeah, it still hurts like hell.

And yes, I still watch Genshin vids and theorycraft for characters I like.

    Sigh.

  4. "If we design another type of permanent endgame that is similar to the Spiral Abyss, it might end up creating excessive anxiety for our players." Artifacts, Talents, Characters, Resin, and Primogems, your too late to be thinking about players ANXIETY! I'm still looking for a "Good" Electro Goblet!

  5. I started the game in the first version and I quit right after the following version because I found the game boring when I realized I needed to wait almost a day for the resin to recharge and nothing else to do.

  6. A really easy endgame aspect they can add in is a world lv 9 mode.

All itd be is the same overworld with lv100 enemies or higher even. Make it completly optional and doesnt give better drops. Just an overall difficulty level jump for people who want to fight more while exploring.

They already have a way to decrease/increase world lv so thats already there. Itd be a really easy addition that would be a decent solution for those who want more fighting.

Ive been recommending this for over a year in their surveys but I doubt they read those. Figured id say my thoughts here while the topic is hot

  7. all gaming companies are becoming greedy, publishing unfinished games full of bugs.
I think its the time for streamers (as the frontier of us gamers) to join force together, start a gaming company, hire people and start giving out games that the players want.
they can easily fund the project using donation from their community. the donation could be anything.
someone could be really good at character design and do that for free.
someone could be good at music
someone could have a very good voice for voice acting.
    streamers have huge community.
this alone would decrease the cost of publishing the game a lot.
someone just need to bring this idea forth in the community and make a team.

  8. I'm really sad that the coop open world like tower of fantasy where you don't need to request someone for access or invite them to your world won't happen maybe until this game dies. Even so I would be glad even if they won't make it like that as long as world chat exist as I'm pretty sure no trashtalking would usually be apparent as why would someone even trashtalk somebody. As far as my experience of ToF, the world chat is pretty good and healthy. Also world chat makes us to be able to announce something on a wider group of people which would make the game fun even if its just a little.

  9. i think the anxiety thing has a chance of being a mistranslation, also this is a casual kind of game, not a run everything and then you are done, the amount of players that are end game high ar having everything done is way smaller then you genshin youtubers are making it out to be.

  10. My most important dealbreaker with Genshin was killing La Signora, I worked so fcking hard during 2020 and 2021, bought a new phone, I got 1322, ……….1322 fcking wishes to get her C6 and her weapon for what, for 2.1 to drop and destroy all my hopes. So now I'm f2p WITH NO PURPOSE TO PLAY THIS GAME ANYMORE OTHER THAN PLAY THE STORY…..A LONG ASSSS BORING STORY, FCKING ARANARA B*TCH, SHE AND GOLDEN APPLE'S LIMITED TIME GAVE ME REAL ANXIETY. With no endgame(New Abyss, more lvl Ar progress, Coop Raids like Destiny or ToF) now its time to move on to other games like ToF ….who am I kidding, I'm also going back to grind lp in League of Toxic afk troll….sorry League of Leguends. At least is more interesting than the waste of potencial Genshin is.

  11. it's really a shame for them having made one of the best combat system on a game and then just throw it all like garbage from yesterday. while being really engaged and hooked on the latest archon quest, i feel really sad from this interview. it felt like we're on the dark days of genshin. i hope they can still turn these around and not make us feel they don't care about our time that we invested on their game. I think i'll just finish the archon quest then just take a break. go outside and maybe touch some ass

  12. I see a lot of talk about " If they add more endgame, then casual players will just be missing out on free primogems" or things along the lines of "Casual players get FOMO due to the rewards given out by spiral abyss". First off, building characters strong enough to beat spiral abyss (9-12) gives you less 4 wishes every reset. No one should feel forced to do abyss because the rewards are not THAT rewarding. And generally I feel like people prefer clearing abyss for the content rather than the primogems. Secondly, what would be wrong with adding endgame content that doesn't give rewards? We're not asking for a boss battle that hands out 100 primogems every time you beat it. Combat driven players just want/need something to feel like their time and money was actually worth it in the end. Not adding a new endgame is a lot more negative than adding a new endgame. It's disappointing that such a combat based game will never become anymore challenging than it currently is, but hopefully we as the community can provide the proper feedback to convince Hoyoverse to change their minds at some point.

  13. they are digging their own grave.

a lot of players would leave the game or they lose the interest in getting new chars since there is no need for them. so they will lose money

and as for 4 star chars:

they didn't expect this game to become this big.

in the start if they could double the money they had spent on the game they would be winner, so they made all chars good even 4 stars.

but as the game is dragging on and their greed is becoming more and more, they are decreasing the time on each banner so they can shyt out more 5 star chars. but doing so they are running out of idea on how a 5 star char should be, let alone 4 star ones.

  14. Should we even still support Genshin knowing all of this have been confirmed or even hypothetically taking their word for it in that interview? They won't even add new reactions for Geo and they even blatantly admit so. They won't do changes in the resin system while they will keep adding world bosses in every freaking region thats coming our way.😕

  15. I’m glad Zy0x talked about the anxiety part in detail. Mihoyo don’t give two shits about your anxiety or they would abolish the banners and wishing system. Just how dumb do they think there player base is?

  16. This is personal opinion.

    1. What makes people play genshin? The majority of reason people playing genshin is the story, character, and gameplay/combat system.
    2. What makes hyv earn money from their game? It is their gacha, which is they are selling character/weapon. Which mean it is combat related thing right.
    3. What about the story? If player playing genshin just for the story, there is no need to FOMO about missing out a character right. We still can enjoy the story with just traveler and/or starting character like amber/lisa. Am i wrong?
    4. What about character and combat? The design of each character is generally good, and the combat system is so unique. I never found such a good/complex combat system with element/ reaction.
    5. So what is the problem? The lack of combat related content. It is contradictive to their bussiness model (imo). Ideally, hoyoverse want to keep selling character to make money. But there are not enough combat related content than can make use of that character other than just having that character without using it. What is the point of increasing level of the character, building the character, and so on if there are no hard enough or simply not enough content to use that character.
    6. Speaking about the content itself. Player want to play genshin. Player want to enjoy the story. Not to play a card game, not to build a house in teapot. Player want to play grnshin, not playing card game or building simulator. It is nice to have, but what about its own unique content? If people want to play card game, why they playing genshin in the first place. Just play a yugioh or something.
I think gemshin is starting to loose their identity

  17. So they don't wanna give us more resin and optional end-game content… I think that's fine.
Resin-wise, they sort of cap us on the speed we level our characters. More speed will eventually drop out a lot of players like me, who can become uninterested in game after reaching some power threshold. Slower pace keeps me in game, and I believe it keeps a lot of other players as well. That really helps to keep playing the game and experience all other great types of content it offers along the way.

Regarding end-game content, that's really a complex question. See, the abyss as it is right now not exaclty an end-game thing, it is a slow progression mode. You go all the way from the 1st floor, clearable in first few days of playing, to the 12th floor, which indeed needs some effort into team-building. Yet all the floors offer basically the same content – fighting waves of enemies with 2 teams. On the other hand, if they add some interesting original content which in difficulty level will be on par with 12th floor – it will be a content which a lot of players can't reach. Such thing will render the game even more unwelcoming for newcomers.
I imagine how frustrating it will be to see a lot of players post their stories and videos about them enjoying this content locked for you for some reason. For the better understanding, imagine they will add some content locked by amount of genesis crystals a player has bought, that will be unavailable for you (did not whale enough, haha). Not very pleasant experience.
Now in that example they lock you by money. But with end game content we are discussing they lock many other players by time and effort they are putting into the game to fully experience everything in it. So I think they really are doing a great job keeping every type of content in game reachable, yet offering challenges to hardcore players. I myself would like to see more challenges still, but I just don't see a proper way of including it into the game.

I would enjoy some slow progression games like the abyss. But if it is for the sake of utilising well-built teams, that doesn't make such game modes too far from the existing abyss, so what's the point? I would also like to see more permanent game events like hide-n-seek. Still they have nothing to do with end-game and have their disadvantages of being permanently available too.

  18. Honestly I’m having a blast while playing the game, I laughed when I heard that they said because of Anxiety. Maybe for younger players but I’m 23 and even older people might get anxiety too but that’s such a terrible excuse and not logical in my opinion. Your claims are interesting and I hope they listen to fans and players like us, because at the end of the day we’re just playing the game to have fun and enjoy our lives and if someone enjoys his life with challenging content let them do they thing. like it’s optional content, so what’s the hold up. For example like Having more stuff in a bag will get you more money rather than being empty handed, like business wise it’s not efficient I say. Yeah bro I hope they listen👍. Note: I completely got three stars on all of my spiral abyss floors until the end 12-3 and even it was challenging it was fun and exciting that’s a part of gaming. There are tons of games that has like even way worse pressure than genshin, take elden ring for example. People had fun playing that game, like bruh it’s not drugs to give anxiety lol like WTF😂😂. If it’s too stressful for some players they can stop playing that optional content like they aren’t forced.

  19. Literally the only thing that keeps me in the game for more than 15 mins a day is trying to be able to 36 star spiral abbys and since i am soo close to that idk what will i have to do in their game anymore and i am for sure not playing honkai

  20. also sorry, but all of you youtuber who are complaining about it, need to realize this game is made by china, they have a very different view to this kind of game (mobile and games in general) when compared to korean and Japanese developed games. heck after i get the characters I want and such I will probably be moving on to other games, my back log is gigantic, start playing or streaming other games.

  21. Unfortunately this was expected. I kept reading comments quite a while ago about how genshin was never planned to be HoYo's main focus, so I started thinking about what kind of content they have released so far and I really was convinced that longevity for the game was never their goal. Imo they will stop focusing on genshin after they finish the story. I think an open world is too cumbersome to maintain for HoYo. Despite this I am determined to finish Genshin since I like the story and the characters. Might as well see it to the end. I think F2P and big whales will have a hard time sticking with the game because they won't feel rewarded for the time/money they put into the game. I play quite casually and don't stress too much about 36 staring abyss or perfect artifacts. Only thing I would ask for in terms of combat is to be able to increase the difficulty and drop rate in overworld since world level doesn't increase anymore. Maybe a pokemon battle mode? Lol where we can't avoid battles in exploration, they'll follow us for a longer distance, but idk how plausible this is.

  22. This interview really just confirmed that there’s no future for the game other than storytelling. It’s like buying a Spider-Man game as a kid and realizing that you actually bought the movie.

  23. i hope this whole topic isn't dying in the next 2 weeks and mihoyo is just sitting it out until no one is talking about it…. i want at least a similar storm of rage as when zhongli first released, so that mihoyo sees the problem and gives at least a second statement (more in favour of endgame enjoyer)

  24. Thing started to be "problematic" after a survey data, during 2.6 or 2.7. 55% of people asked for more characters and mini events, rather then permanent content, challenging endgame stuff, etc.. I am not that surprised for what hoyo said, i am concerned about how many people are fine with that. Its absurd how much potential is wasted. First is Genshin Yu-gi-oh, after that some high school stuff, then wedding system. From a fictional world, to a life simulator…
