DISCLAIMER: miHoYo lets players take control of Thoma during one of his hangout options and you can actually walk around a little bit around the island and even encounter some enemies… but the catch is – you’ve only got 60 seconds so better make it count!
This video focuses on checking out some of the more serious things about Thoma, like his damage multipliers and even how the talents function. Although the current equipment on him isn’t in the most optimal shape, the goal here is not to evaluate his damage dealing capabilities but instead look at the numbers and think of how we can prepare for his release.
Thoma damage dealer or Thoma support builds will come out later in the next video once the 2nd banner with Hu Tao arrives as well as a dedicated Thoma guide which will be made at a later date.

As a current Xingqiu main, the cool-downs and small numbers really aren’t anything intimidating. Essentially, both of them are the same (to me at least). it’ll suck to not be able to use the vaporize combo often with Xingqiu and Thoma, but Thoma is so unbelievably lovable i can’t help but to want him on my team. Him, as a character alone, will easily overshadowed any “negatives” that comes with playing as him 🌸🍡💕
It's fine if he's not ultra super powerful or whatever. I'm still pulling for my housewi– Thoma. 😌

..It's not reducing the burst-cost. I know what you guys are pointing at but at the same time you're overlooking some things. It remains 80 energy and you have to build that up. Yes, you regain 15 energy right away but at the same time you should not ignore the fact that other sources might drain Energy (Spiral Abyss or Artifact Sets for example) which leaves him at 0 again. The build up remains the same; constellation #4 is nice, for sure, but don't overvalue it right away. It will get weaker as the game progresses, too.

I’m actually really happy with him. I need a better shield character and the fact that he is a pyro character is super useful to me. 🐸😌
guys what do you think about a team with hu tao as a main dps, kazuha as a sub dps, xinqiu as support and thoma as sheild ?? does it look good or no ?
he has to be an hydro character, another pyro is really awefull. With this kit he would have been amazing as hydro

woah. check when thoma use burst the only energy replenish is the favonious spear and skill. gonna farm milelith on this dude ER sands, HP gob and hp circlet, 2nd priority is crit% for favonious spear. hoping to reach atleast c2.

i really hope a lot on thoma's shield. my zhongli shield slot needs to retire. zhongli is never subout in my team composition. theres just no good candidate to replace the geo archon aotm. so i expect a lot on thoma..i need friendship level for other characters aside fr zhongli.

I just realised if Ayato releases then Akuoumaru will be good for him paired with Thoma, because of Thoma's high energy cost and vaporise potential (that's if Ayato is a hydro Claymore according to leaks)

I don't care how viable this team is, but I want to build a Particle Effects team of Fischl, Baal, Thoma, and Xingqiu. Maybe change out Fischl for Beidou, but then there's negative synergy with Baal, but Baal's too good to not have in the team, so.
Simple answer, he’s gonna be pretty useless even with his C6.
The thing that made pyro vaporize so good was the lack of ICD on their attacks: XL nado, HT CA, Diluc E skill.
Thoma little damage multipliers mean he will not be vaporizing, but instead, enables.
Pyro enables Cryo but Cryo units don’t have moves without ICD, except for Ganyu CA. Rosaria runs better with Yanfei or Klee consistantly enabling pyro.
In overload, electro will be the one proccing so you would be wasting massive stats if you want big dmg from overload that occurs only every 3s.
i love how the entire community just started using thoma like we have had trial runs with other chars but everyone justs tarted using thoma
