I feel like Fontaine is gonna be a Black Butler book of circus situation. A circus setting and a murder happens, so we have to find the murderer but the hydro archon is gonna be in our way, denying that the murderer is one of her people since she is like that. 4:04 we say this because in the trailer there's no nail above dragonspine and Mondstadt looks a little different. So it feels like it might actually be a prequel of sorts. But we'll just have to wait and see. At the very least Zach and Sarah should ABSOLUTELY remain, if it is a prequel. And if they're recast I will riot.

The thing about Fontaine that is most intriguing to me is how they are going to tackle the region’s history and folklore. Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru had a treasure trove of mythological influences to draw from in Chinese, Japanese, Egyptian, and Indian history respectively. France isn’t exactly a country that comes to my mind when discussing mythological stories and creatures, but that’s not to say that it doesn’t have its own backlog of folk stories. In fact, after looking into it, many of them are actually well known today due to their sheer number of adaptations, such as Disney and Dreamworks films.
France was the birthplace of stories such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, Mother Goose Tales, Puss in Boots, Goldilocks, and Morgan La Fey.
As for creatures, it is also the birthplace of Gargoyles, Goblins, and Werewolfs.
Looking into this was very surprising to me, and now I’m really interested to see what stories they’ll pull inspiration from.
