This video talks all about Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Crit Ratios, and their value to artifacts, DPS, character builds, and stat optimization and distribution. I have a friend that would go berserk if anyone have high ER or even high crit rate. She is so focused on damage per screenshot and will get angry if anyone talks about DPS as damage per second. She consistently runs 20-30% cr / 250%+ cdmg and will attack you relentlessly if you don't follow that strategy and call your character build trash.
CRIT VALUE is over rated so just use DEF and HP
of course im just joking
Man, I wish we could use this knowledge of min/maxing outside of Abyss.
Sometimes when I mald after rolling awful sub-stats I stop and remind myself "Dude, you already faceroll everything".
for me as long as an artifact doesnt have 46.6% crit damage and 50.5 crit value its a failed piece
7.8%…..
That number, it scares me *shivers*
Congrats with 100K X)
The 1:2 ratio is so stupid , sure you get more damage overall but who tf wants to see small numbers on their screen 🤮
Whoaa this video is so well made and its always nice to listen to you. Thanks!
Good information to help me build better, looking forward to the next
Use the genshin optimizer and you will be surprised. Not only is objectively the best way to optimize just about everything, but also you will see that more often than not whatever you thought was best for your character in terms of builds is not even among the top 10.
substats are rng so negleting er isnt really an option that can be chosen though
You got me on that "Hey everyone, it's CV" part HAHAHA nice one
Why is dps being referred to as "damage per screenshot" is so funny
Woah that intro
I don't think people ignore ER, it's just ER value is higher in character with 80 energy cost burst while character with low burst cost is better with less ER but more CV
Thanks for this! Looking forward to the next part👍🏻🤓❤️
Thanks Sevy-Sensei! Now I now that my SUB DPS like Xiangling and Fischl are actually good with 55/115
this is super informativee but i love the intro… its…. cv…. HAHAHAHHAHHHHA
Y does this sound like my math class T.T
So what do you if you don't have either of those artifacts because the rng is ass?
Amazing video as always, watching your videos has improved my genshin experience so much, thank you!
There are a few misconceptions here.
1) CV calculation. as we are looking at artefacts. please see artefact details when doing ratings. that yoimiya is nowhere close to 300 cv (which would be near perfect)
2) ER EM. these 2 stats in general have a threshold.
ER- you should always build to a point where it is sufficient and up to 20-30% over the minimum is fine too. this depends on how much you wanna min max
EM – of course this is balanced as a ratio multiplier between EM ATK CV. but in general you have to see if your unit is capable of MELT & VAPE 100% of the time. Assuming we use Xiangling which is capable of such. then we would be looking for approx 200-280 EM (Depending on artefact quality). Anything higher would suffer heavily from diminishing returns. this is due to how rapidly EM Scales. Note that if CW is used this scales additive not multiplicative to EM therefore you would want lesser EM (100-150)
3) ATK%, marginal gains of within single digits of Crit. With bennett atk would never beat CV even if im running an extreme crit stats. such as an overall character stats of 100% CR 320% CD on a character with only 3.2k atk with bennett buff (best use scenario for atk). crit still slightly beats out atk%. of course that ratio is impossible to achieve. therefore crit beats atk assuming the inclusion of bennett. However, should we remove benett, crit and atk are extremely balanced and it is likely that you will require a calculator to maximize this for you.
Ultimately using CV is indeed not perfect, but it is reasonable and it is widely accepted. There is no way to include ER and EM into any standardized formula as these stats have a hard cap where anything above a certain point has little value. As for ATK%, there is the bennett question, we could also perhaps modify this "cv only" to "CV +atk" but either way both formulas have their flaws. another metric would be the # of rolls this is obviously heavily flawed due to the balancing of what rolls are considered optimal.
happy 100k subs!! 😊😊
hey cv! HAHA thank you for this video 🙂
really like your presentation. more power!
really looking forward to the atk vs crit video, i am the only one of my friends who often goes for higher attack and lower crit, and i'd love to see what really works best statistically in that regard. i personally have found more value in higher attack and lower crit for more consistent damage in my own account ! but of course i do have friends who have hit 700k+ crits whereas my top was about 350k, so i suppose if you want higher one shots that would be more ideal.
Just use genshin optimizer and see what gives you the highest DPS artifact loadouts
I never give out likes on a Genshin Impact content from YouTube, this is the first time I ever saw a valuable content
What I only counted 3 substat as started for both of them so is it me or I got wrong info about the higher substat count
… pls fill me in anyone who knows
Crit is somewhat overrated at a certain point. On my Ganty, I got more damage from a massive atk% roll with no crit dmg than an artifact with high crit dmg.
But when I play with my friends in coop they gotta see those big crits
Congrats on the 100k, Sevy! Your content is amazing.
very nice video sevy! although i already knew all of this (i've spent A Lot of time in the theorycrafting rabbit hole bc it's just, really fun for me to crunch those numbers lol) but i still really enjoyed watching this (and your content in general) bc you have a lovely way of explaining things in a very clear and sensible manner, and i like hearing your explanations of concepts i'm already familiar with, and i'm really glad you made a video covering this nuance of artifacts and CV, too often does it get overvalued at the expense of other good stats, so here's a comment to hopefully boost traction w the algorithm! definitely looking forward to the next video!
Congratulations for reaching 100k subs🎉🎉🎉. I hope you make a video a special video for us 👏👏👏

yeah like 60:200 crit ratio is a flex and all but it won't matter if u have like, 1k atk only. 60:140 but with 2k atk and 100 em will be far better.
i know supports can boost these stats easily but it seems like a pain to get the whole set up right, but eh what do i know i play quickswap teams so everyone just goes unga bunga
good CV is hard to achieve, Good CV on well-rounded artifacts is even harder…
ER > cv, but Im an artif hoe, so for me 70 200cdm 130-140 ER is a must. 100crit 200cdm nahhh, genshin easy, no need for 15mins hitting boss straight like WoW
Sevy doing everything for us 🤧🤩 ily
I definitely have been learning this the hard way, LOL. I have my Xinyan at a point of satisfactory damage, even though I'm running a Def% Sands on her. I've tried getting her crit rate to be more consistent, but none of my existing artifacts really improve it, so I tried swapping to Serpent Spine on her. Even with the stacks, her NA damage is greatly diminished bc of the Atk loss. I do plan on saving up for Redhorn (bc I have Itto as well, and I will spoil my faves) since it's a Crit DMG+Def Scaling weapon, I could probably take Xinyan to new heights with my existing setup, and just swap to a Crit Rate hat.
Conversely, I pulled Haran for Kaeya, and I had to swap to a Blizzard Strayer Atk% goblet to keep his 4PC bonus (which happens to have the godliest Crit Damage of all my artifacts) His overall damage output is much greater than using one of my existing Cryo goblets.

I realized this while building my Eula lately. Giving her an ATK% circlet contributed to more damage than using crit rate or crit damage.
Thanks for your breakdowns!
Artifact with no dead stat is better than high cv
