Anyway, here is my reply to the guy who made the poorly made summary, I think this is like a more accurate summary of what he talks about in the video.
Incorrect, because he talked about Neuvillete which he said was "Busted, deserving of the hype and praise because of his powercreep, and quality of life (just standing there and pressing charge attacks instead of doing dash cancels for after plunge). There were many variables mentioned not just "I can clear just as fast as Xiangling, Xingqiu, Bennett, therefore she does not give me any value" and according to his word usage "I cannot in my right mind recommend this to new players" (which most likely do not have a lot of the old characters) his target audience for this advice/ video were the newer players who doesn't not spend a lot in the game.
edit: need to say this because the weapon reccomendations are DOGSHIT: eye of perception and the dragonspine catalyst are the best f2p, if you did enkanomiya event, the event catalyst is the best f2p by a large margin and atlas is not passable, it is the second best catalyst, i don't fucking know what M was smoking reccomending a hp catalyst that heals with hp WITH A CHARACTER THAT ALREADY HEALS AND IS ATK BASED.
coming from the guy that nutted after seeing what a pre-buff traveler's chosen could do, this is a HUGE difference, cloud retainer is a good unit that buffs plunging damage that has basically 2 characters that she can actually buff (xiao and gaming), she is not trash, she is neiche, just like shenhe, yunjin, sara, gorou, venti and chevruse, however, xianyun is literally the single handed biggest neiche buffer ever concieved, xiao's damage goes from 100k to almost 200k per jump, and since i know you (mtashed) are going to get the reference, it is like a full on titan bubble buff with a well of radiance with empowered buff and a hunter teather levels of buff when they all stacked together.
tldr: xianyun is neiche like buffers that buff talents (like yunjin) elements (like gorou) and reactions (like chevruse), but OPPRESSIVELY good in her neiche essentially doubleing the damage of her most buffed units

i think you are focusing a bit too much on the "better than xy unit" part, it is indeed mostly opening new doors which depending on enemies can have gameplay advantages, she is not straight up a plunge support however, her biggest role is being a healer and an anemo catalyst and then as a cherry ontop a plunge buffer if you happen to utilize it, playing taser with her as onfield unit is a thing, just playing her as a healer with furina is a combination like kazuha+bennett but benefits other chars
i do agree however that at her best its against single targets
I never got the feeling of her being a must pull from the other creators on the plattform either, but having an entire new gameplay option in the arsenal is way more attractive than direct damage upgrades for specific teams with the difficulty the game has, interms of exploration she is also one of the better investments
Yeah, my Jean works just fine but was it as fun? No is the answer and that's why many pulled and it's the highest earned day 1 banner currently, despite all the drama as a handicap 😂
