this review was amazing! i absolutely love it 🙂 such a good in detail explanation of her chara and gameplay. ive seen so many negative reviews on kokomi and seeing such a positive and an unbiased review was good. i absolutely love how you judged her on what her kit is truly for and didn’t base this off of her dps abilities.

Tbh she had so much potential she’s pretty good i guess but they could of done so much with her. I mean i never expected her to be a damage dealer but when making her they seemed so indecisive on what they wanted her to be and due to that shes kinda lacking compared to other healers imo. For example jean basically does what she does but better. But that being said i like this take on her it shows people shes worth if you really want her which I would agree shes solid shes just weird maybe my opinion will change when i mess around with her but from what ive seen thats my thoughts tbh id still pull on her for esthetic alone she seems super fun despite the weirdness

oersonally i think she might be the worst 5* star i've seen since Qiqi.
She scales with HP%, she seeks to do dmg but yet she has -100% crit rate and thus making crit dmg useless for her.
As a hydro enable she brings nothing to her house, other than she has to compete vs Mona for burst dmg and xignqui easily the best hydro support.
As a healer she'll have to compete vs Jean- an elemental dmg reduce and atk% scaler.
vs qiqi a cryo sync, attack dmg scaler.
I think her main role can be a Summoner DPS. Her damage would come from her Jellyfish. It hits AoE consistently, and duration refreshes on burst. So it is consistently up and does dmg. I am thinking of this AoE on field combo …
– Kokomi E (jellyfish AoE)
– Albedo E (flower AoE)
– Raiden E (eye AoE)
Also, opponent are consistently under electrocharged on the above combo 🙂
That -100% crit rate was totally unnecessary. It's anniversary, we should have been able to get a good character. Instead we get this, my disappointment is immeasurable. And don't get me started on the anniversary rewards. People were scared of power creeping, now it seems MiHoYo is doing the opposite which is worse.
i will looking forward to kokomi-thoma-xiangling-xingqiu soon, i think she is great..
I think she’ll be a fantastic healer! Her damage, hp (tank), ability to apply “wet” for good reactions, she’s well-rounded! Ill be focusing her heals and all of the rest are bonuses 🙂 i think she’ll be god tier healer, definitely not a god-tier dmg dealer

This is just me, I'm fine with -100% crit rate on her passive talent but my problem is we get little (25% healing bonus) in exchange from a penalty that big. Maybe they could have given her like +25% healing bonus, +25% Energy Recharge and +25% Hydro DMG Bonus in exchange for -100% crit rate or anything that is fair exchange.
Okay, so now if you already have Barbara or Qiqi or even Jean, what use does she serve in your roster? Everyone comparing her talks about how replaceable she is by other healers who can also deal damage. She's been outclassed in what she does even before she was released.
The whole "judging a fish on it's ability to climb" thing doesn't apply here, but I'm pretty sure you already know she's not getting compared to a Childe. We're judging the fish on it's ability to swim like the fish it came to meet, to which she's currently failing, but we'll wait for more news after testing
She just doesn't do anything unique, or needed. Damage? No. Healing? Not needed. Hydro application? Already taken care of. Her weapon? Lol. Just… No point pulling her unless you just like her. But unfortunately that's not good enough of a reason for me.
i mean i'm so anti meta i mained bennett as a dps for 5 months and now i main yoimiya but holy smokes i didn't know she'd be this bad 😭 now i don't know if i should pull for her… she's so pretty but beidou and fischl are already being used on my yoimiya team ☹️

Would you say this character could be a potential good Hydro applier that she doesn’t have to be on the field? That was the main thing I was looking for to build a freeze Ganyu team but I don’t have access to Mona.

I really appreciate this video, especially the team comps! I was planning on pulling for Kokomi anyway, so I'm glad to see a pretty positive and fair review. I love that she's a tank healer, my previous main was Zhongli so maybe I just have a liking to the tanks! Gonna try her with Raiden later and hope it turns out well 🙂
this is so in depth, i had to subscribe lol. i think i’ll skip on kokomi.. i have all healers except bennett, and i don’t really need nor want kokomi. she’s cute and i love her attack animations, but i just don’t see myself using her often. i think i’m good in the healer and support department, anyway. i’m looking forward to the reruns, though!
2x HoD 2x MB is recommended if you do not wanna do 4x HoD rotation. Avoid 2x ToM at all cost, as 15% Healing Bonus is way more valuable.

i love her so much that i dont care about damage or anything. i just want her and the fact that she can also deal damage while healing (altho not as much as what others would do damage and healing wise) i really dont mind since i love playing her especially when i go to domains and try to help out my friends.
thank you for the honest review and i told my friends the exact same thing. if theyre expecting me to pull this for damage then theyre wrong because thats not what kokomi are for. if theres improvement or things needed in the future mihoyo will definitely give it if its needed. so far i am happy with whatever i have right now and will settle for a buff or two if theres any.

To me she's like a Jack of all trades, master of none. She doesn't excel in any one field but she does everything pretty well.
Amazing amazing review!!! This is all I needed to know about kokomi. All the other reviewers I see are meta SLAVES who are BASED on Meta and will judge her on damage and call her a skip which pretty much renders their review and opinions Moot in point due to the fact she is primarily a HEALER and an enabler.
Im glad that mihoyo likes to release more characters who arent just DPS because DPS characters are always replaced every patch or 2. Flavor of the month no matter what. I dont even use my ganyu anymore really and have never really used xiangling at all. Im not f2p dont care for her anyways very BEDGE character.
Supports are the backbone of any team comp and all team builds in general. Thank you Sevy. Glad to see that someone gets it.

I like to think of Kokomi as an attempt from Mihoyo make healer role fun, because let's be honest, playing bennett, ChiChi, Barbara in co-op, is kinda boring :/
Not being able to reposition the jellyfish and the burst not doing it either was the final nail in the coffin for me.
So kokomi is like a healer Tartaglia, a in field support

Kokomi and Aloy will replace Mona and Diona, respectively, for more aggresive Morgana team.
