  1. If Genshin Impact was a Japanese game, we wouldn't have any of this BS 😂 China has too many restrictions, so maybe that's why Genshin is in the state its in😂 or it's just the developers fault 🤷‍♀️ i just don't know anymore

  2. I think it's working as intended. I have a pretty hot take on this, but I actually think Hoyoverse doesn't like Genshin because of the community it drew. For the same reason so many people dislike the community, which is that for some reason, the game drew a bunch of bratty minors with a lot of time on their hands. I think Hoyo wants Genshin to fade. Here's the shortest version why:

Genshin makes about $0.50-$0.80 cents per month per player.
Nikke in its first month (in a post-Genshin, post-pandemic world) made $17.50 dollars per player and has stayed above $10 and near $15.
Honkai Star Rail is around $6.00 – $8.00.
Honkai Impact 3rd and Punishing Gray Raven (often teased as a dead game by the Genshin rabid) make at least $5 per player per month.

As great as those games are, they clearly don't take nearly the investment and management of Genshin.

I think that's why you see the changes with HSR and the upcoming ZZZ that seem to be aiming to appeal more to adults and at least working age teens 16+ that are less likely to turn Hoyo's customer support into a F2P Day Care. Imagine how many tickets they must have to go through that go something like this: "Something's wrong with my game! It didn't give me Hu Tao…" Imagine explaining that to a 10-year-old, lol. Possibly 40 million of them.

So, yeah, I don't think Hoyoverse is stupid, I think they really just don't like the kind of success they clearly drew with Genshin. Probably an incredible amount of minors with internet access but absolutely no money. It's not the F2P typical as all those other games probably have similar groups of F2P mature gamers, the incredible income per player discrepancy is because during the pandemic Genshin bagged a BUNCH of toddlers and pre-teens and they can't get rid of them. Even when the CEO explained the market he was looking for, it was lonely people that care about the characters, it wasn't kids lol. I really think that's the best explanation for why Hoyo NEVER listens to Genshin community and does the minimum. China has complained A LOT since Zhongli. They don't listen to them either.

  3. At this point nothing will make it worth it for me to play genshin like I used to except useful rewarding end game content, and some kind of artifact pity, where I know that if i put a specific amount of time into an artifact domain(weeks, months) I get a guarantee that I get the artifact I want

  4. I also hope that people stop these narratives that Global server's voice didn't matter, ofc our "voice" didn't matter but our money does. So just stop spending money into this game Global server's money is not less significant that The Chinese one. if the Global players stop paying do you think they just gonna sit there doing nothing?

  6. With how absolutley shit the games rates are, they could give each player 300 free roles and still not hurt their bottem line.

They also lack any sort of banner or event for returning players, solidifying the fact they dont care about population drop off. Keeping the sunk cost fallacy players is the only goal.

  7. guys palworld is out why play genshit all these years of suffering for nothing.if the genshit is gonna be better with players leaving and not playing means let's do it.
boycott genshit and let those positive cash-giving pieces of shit suffer as they paid they won't find fault in genshit. so let's just leave them for the better game the "genshin community" deserves better than genshit by Hoyoverse.

  9. Hopefully this won’t backfire on hsr. Since hsr’s generosity is always used to show how stingy genshin is and now even led to this boycot. I’m a bit worried since if this company really wants to be stingy all it takes is to fire couple of people from hsr team to make both games stingy.

  11. tbh I rarely do survies in genshin to give them something to suggest because most of the time I complain about something nothing happen about it, this company gave up on this game long ago and bringing a real competition to genshin like wuthering waves is the only solution, hoyoverse don't give a damn what global players say but the chinese get something and I'm kinda done on playing this game just collecting freemos and weekly bosses then get off hoping someday they will change, I hope the gaming community will give wuthering waves enough exposure to become the monster that wakes hoyoverse

  13. Bruh I was soooo hyped in genshin but then area to area day per day month per month grinding endless it’s just the same shit over and over again ….. we just want a few things we the community have give millions if not more money so they can get working and do us happy like we make them happy with our money but they don’t….. so we kill the game if that’s what you want just another milked cow then I would say guys we don’t play any more games form this company send them a message you give us what we want and deserve as community or you go close your company

  14. I still remember how much of the community told people who weren't happy with Dehya's release that they were just playing her wrong or that she was "Supposed to be weak because she's on standard" mere months after we got Tighnari who's one of the more optimally balanced 5 stars on the standard banner.

The only thing worse is the people who acknowledge that there's a problem and then still discourage people from speaking up about it because "Its never going to change anyway."

Whatever. I can only guess It's some kind of addiction driven behavior or something.

  15. Tbh I think that what would end Hoyos ignorance about Genshin would be if a game came out that is exactly like Genshin (open world RPG with gacha) and it was just much more generous. Like more than HSR generous. I know there is the argument that „Well but Tower of Fantasy didnt work out” that’s because it was lowkey early into Genshin and also wasn’t that generous + it was buggy and felt like its not complete.
I have so much hope for Withering Waves. The combat looks 100% more fun than Genshin imo, the characters are unique and all they need to become a sweep is generosity. I really do hope they can learn on Hoyos miskates and Im looking forward to their game.
