ATK% and Why It’s UNDERRATED! ATK vs Crit DMG, Optimizing DPS & Diminishing Returns | Genshin Impact

How much DPS increase does ATK vs Crit DMG give? In this video, I compare both of these stats’ damage value and diminishing returns. When should you stack more ATK? How big is the DPS difference of stacking Crit DMG over ATK? #GenshinImpact #Genshin

  1. I have a few characters that prefer an Atk% helm since I haven't been able to get amazing crit helms on set for them. Namely my Ayaka and Xiao prefer my god rolled Atk% helms when I run them through Genshin Optimizer! So many people just throw away Atk% helms so I'm glad to see someone making a video on the topic!!

  2. tl;dw – use a calculator lol
This is definitely good advice but ngl I feel like if you're thinking enough about this stuff, you might as well use the calculator

  3. Amazing video. A LOT of people need this information. Also, maybe you’re gonna talk about this in another video, but maybe you could cover how a weapon’s base attack works. The higher the base attack, in can make building more critical damage “easier”.

  4. yep, when you know maths you can calculate these things, nice video! In my case i have xiao with ATK% on goblet and circlet and only with 195% CD does between 30k to 35k dmg with no buffs <3

  5. I know this concept are important but till now, no video was simple and good enough to make me care. Always so complicated. Your videos (this one, CV, ER and Artifacts) made the whole guide really simple and totally understandable. GREAT VIDEOS! You make all this tricky things so easy. Thanks for taking your time to help us all Sevy!

  6. Next guide, Elemental Mastery? I feel like it's one of the most underexplained stats among youtubers, with a wide variety of requirements between characters based on element and character archetype.

  7. This is usefull for people that want to increase their damage but dont get good rolls… now attack circlet with good sub-stats seems to be a good option to take account… i usually trow it away just because the main stat is not any crit sub-stat… also for healer Jean is a good option and still keeping some a good dps

  8. my take away form this is if an ATK Circlet has three counts of CRIT DMG% as a substat, it's performing almost identically (if not 1-2% better) to a CRIT DMG Circlet with three counts of ATK% (in an isolated scenario). right? and oooo dang are ATK Circlets easier to find that CRIT DMG. if this is the case, the artifact grind has just become a lot more reasonable. Sevy saves the day again!

  9. Hmmm maybe thats why im having trouble with my Ayato, he has80% crit rate amd 220Crit damage but only 1600 atk, ergo, im doing around 9k him alone and just 17k with bennet i thnk i have a main hp piece i can try change to an attack one.

  10. Crit DmG is still better than ATK% because there are a lot of ATK% buff sources like TTDS and Bennett buff (it means it will hit Diminishing returns easily)

Crit DmG however also diminishes over 200+ value, that's why my 230% Crit DmG Emblem on Ayaka hits harder than a 280% Crit DmG Blizzard

with the blizzard only having 135% ER and the Emblem at 170% ER

edit – also reminder anything below 100% Crit rate is 50-50, just kidding don't be a low Crit rate player

  11. If it's not garbage takes on twitter, then it's about their obsession with Crit DMG or some other nonsense. Sometimes I think the people who stereotype Genshin's fandom might have a point…

  12. ATK% is indeed valuable and, in fact, almost more valuable than crit. However, the current meta options yield diminishing returns. We have characters like Bennett, artifacts like Noblesse, and weapons like TToDS. It's understandable that the community gets frustrated when they can't roll that crit substat.

  13. This merely reinforces my Klee Doctrine of "consistent boom is better than one big boom"
Now I must return to getting better boom fuel artifacts.

  14. ppl tend to stack so much cd on ayaka that they fail to value her atk.
for me, if u want to run her with a cd hat she ought to have 2.2k atk minimum.

  15. for me going for cdmg circlet is the only go to option since atk buffs are easily accessible via bennett, TTDS, Tenacity 4pc etc but we cannot get crit damage buffs on any element except Electro (C6 Sara) and Geo (C6 Gorou)

  16. atk is sooo important but the reason why atk doesnt need to be built as much on some characters like xiangling is bc shes always ran with bennett and his insane atk buff compared to someone like ayaka who is almost always played in freeze without bennett and rlly values that atk.

  17. The main reason people don't invest as much into Atk is because, in terms of Ayaka, you can slap on Noblesse on Diona, or pair her with Bennet, or Sucrose with TTDS. Crit DMG is hard to come by, while there's countless methods of getting more Atk. Of course, if you're talking about solo DMG, then yeah, Atk is definitely overlooked often times.

  18. Another thing is getting a copium CR/CD piece is usuable compared to a Copium ATK% headpiece.
So, only use ATK% headpiece if its crack or if your stats are like sevy with way too much CR/CD already and need more atk/def.

  19. That's why balanced build is better for most characters. People should pay attention for the bare minimum base before chasing for multipliers.

….except raiden shogun with engulfing lightning and swirl supports/main drivers.

  20. isnt your artifact example is bad ? flower, feather , sand and your goblet in this video has cracked up cr cd substat and the atk circlet you used also has 20% cd so of course despite using atk% circlet your dmg isnt much different than with using cd circlet. If your other artifact dont have good cr cd substat than using atk% would be way worse than using cr/cd circlet

  21. I think it is more significant to have ATK% than CRIT DMG%, ATK% can stand alone with Ayaka's damage. But CRT DMG scales with CROT RATE.. so it's better to have atk% over crit dmg, if you don't have enough crit rate.

  22. If I'm building crit stats for Keqing, do I apply the 15% crit rate she gets from her 2nd passive when using her burst?

So instead of having 2000 atk and 75:150. Would it be better to bring my crit ratio to 60:150 and invest more into atk stats since I can get 15% crit rate from her 2nd passive and burst anyways?

  23. This is very true, my Ayaka was using my crit dmg circlet with 10.3 crit rate with a total of 294% cdmg, 35% crit rate, 1.9k atk, then changed to ATK % circlet with 14% cdmg, 16.3% crit rate, ending with 240% cdmg, 42% crit rate and 2.4k atk, damn the dmg difference is quite huge, enough for me to main the atk% circlet! not to mention the increase in consistency. Both Blizzard sets btw.
