Man that Adeline theory was sinister, i think is more probably that this room is some kind of Diluc's torture room, where he interrogate and torture suspicious people or Fatui/Abyss mages, and she's the only with the key because she's the most qualified to clean the room, and the other maids can't access this room because would might be too much for them and they could be mentally affected, is kinda suspicious that emphasis on "is totally animal" part and how she avoid talk about it, but i don't think Diluc would allow her to kill and cook people, he would probably discover it and end with her
