Furina is weird and so are all of the circumstances surrounding her, and dissolving all this weirdness is difficult because there’s really not a lot to work with…
So let’s approach this topic from a DIFFERENT angle, a more CHILDE-ish angle. Believe it or not, this little orange harbinger has a lot to tell us about Furina although not much of it was said out loud.

*NOTES*
– Re: not showing blue under elemental sight thing –> there are three probable reasons for this. 1) It would be a MASSIVE spoiler if you accidentally used elemental sight and everyone was blue and that would destroy the twist. 2) Playable characters would always be infused with hydro which would be… problematic for many reasons. 3) It's possible that since this event should have happened hundreds of years ago that these eidolons have started to accumulate non-water materials… and maybe they've just inter-married with other humans from other regions in the most confusing biological bloodline I could imagine. Either way I don't think it should be taken as gospel that beings like eidolons always need to be elementally infused. It's like how trees are not green, but white.
3:24 wait when does Rhodeia attack like this? I thought this was specific to that Fontaine world quest
People compared mondstadt to breath of the wild, but fontaine is literally tears of the kingdom
Me looking at the wanders troupe artifacts , they look like the sacred lotus material and even look at the goblet and the "sands" or rather"waters"
This is giving human instrumentality project lol. You really put in the work and I think you have a watertight theory here
makes sense. these abstract notions are about the societies of their region. it must be about individualism and nationalism, people lose their identities to become one. that's literally how it is. i love gensin's lore
Honestly i can't get behind this theory. People in Fountain being dead and then being hydro edylons is too much of a stretch. We know that an edylon, when they take a human have blue eyes and hair. And when you use elemental sight they shine blue for hydro. And people in Fontaine have babies, get old, die and get buried in cemeteries, if they were straight up edylons wouldn't they dissolve when they die? Idk
Wait can someone please explain 30:11–30:23 to me in razor language bc i don’t get it
What if Ei and Makoto were Zashki Warashi. Yokai known to bring fortune to the houses they lived in. They are portrayed as twins that are doll like. And when they leave a house it often spells misfortune, but they leave because the inhabitants lost their way. I know I’m going somewhere with that last part, but not sure where lol
In the first place, Furina can't be an Ocanid because the water there isn't suitable for them. And no, Ei and Makoto aren't Yokai, they are born goddesses, there is a distinction.
If Egeria indeed replaced everyone in Fontaine with a hydro eidolon, I highly doubt Celestia will just leave this punishment for later, she has no human nation to protect, so she would have been removed immediately when Celestia notice it (they had a death mark on Orobashi for less, Egeria would be public enemy). Like you said, the primordial is very fond of humans and so are his shades, a mistake that colossal will not be left to a prophecy to punish later, unless he is no longer around.
If this was done long long ago, before even the cataclysm, then it is likely every nation will already have this hydro eidolon genetics on them and more people would become water when in contact with the primordial water.
Hello,
do you have any idea as for why Neuvilette apologies when sealing back the primo water?
edit:OK sorry, I mistranslated "overruling"
It could do reference to the fact that the primo waters are the the sentence for the sin (of creation?) and Neuvillette thinks it's too severe.
About biology, i think they are eidolons back then, but after they get married, having a doodledigadoo with humans, the drop of their "sperm" (since sperm is also a liquid, thou not actually a water), can made an entire new race that mimicking human, a half if i can say.
They had blood, they had any organs etc, but their cells, its part of the primodial water/part of the original eidolons made by previous hydro archon/furina herself using all her power, knowledges, memory, etc.
Thats why everytime oatrice/or that machine for judgement thing, always making sure and resonate with people from fountaine!
Because they are ALL IS PART OF FURINA.
But welp. I can be wrong since it just a theory. We will wait for new patch for this.
Childe? Childe is dead
no. i wont eat ur food.
About the debate between creation and sin, maybe Celestia considered creating life a hybris: when a human (or a lesser being in Egeria's case) thinks of themselves as high as god. And so, to Celestia's point of view, Egeria did something that was reserved to them and so is a sinner.
Wanna hear my big crazy-pants theory? Tartaglia is the next Hydro Archon.
It starts with my theory about Visions, first. I have long held a theory that Visions mark a person as a potential emergency replacement for the current Archon. This came as a result of wondering what traits could lead people to getting a particular element. I tried comparing people to the respective elemental archons, but kept running into issues because of how many characters are basically a polar opposite of the Archon of the same element. Jean and Sucrose couldn't be further from Venti in terms of personality, for example. Eventually I tried flipping it: what if that was the point? I then realized that every single vision wielder displays whatever trait "fixes" the respective Archon's biggest flaw.
Venti is lazy, only working when absolutely neccasary? All Anemo vision wielder are ridiculously persistent. Maybe not to their actual job (Sayu, for example), but at least towards whatever they care about.
Likewise, Geo users all have a passion that they care about to the point of hyperfixation where they will literally lose track of whatever else is going on, whereas Zhongli lost his passion and wanted to retire so he could rest and enjoy other things. Electro users are innovators, either trying to find new ways to do things or trying to get old ways to work like new but Ei is stuck in the past and actively trying not to move on to the detriment of all else. Nahida's biggest flaw is her inability to get the sages to actually listen to her, while every Dendro is in a position where either people instantly treat them as an authority figure or at the very least they are treated as someone to look forward to getting help from.
This theory continues into comparing to previous archons with current ones. Makoto died from wanting not to endanger her sister, trying to work solo. Ei, on the other hand, has repeatedly shown that she recognizes the value in letting others do their job. Rukhadevata was corrupted by forbidden knowledge and literally the first thing people noticed when Nahida was born was that the girl didn't have the same borderline omniscient knowledge.
Now we look to Furina's biggest flaw. She is in WAY over her head trying to be an Archon and instead relies on theatrics to get people to trust her. This keeps leading to her sticking her foot in her mouth and is constantly at risk of everything collapsing out from under her if literally anything goes wrong. In contrast, every Hydro user is a consummate professional. Even the "least professional" of the Hydro users, Xingqiu, is shown to be gifted when it comes to his actual job within the Feiyun Commerce Guild.
Now let's take a moment to stop talking about Visions for a second and focus on Fontaine's plot. As you noted in the video, there is a VERY good chance Egaria (or st least a piece of her) is "alive" and inside the Oratrice. And as evidence towards this, the "woman trapped herself in a bottle" from the summer event can easily connect to Egaria being in the Oratrice. This has actually been something I suspected since just before 4.0 released when we heard about how the Oratrice could pass its own judgements in the version trailer. With the confirmation of Egaria having been an oceanid, I have basically been acting with that assumption. But if this means that Egaria is still alive, it means both of the Hydro Archons are technically alive. And this means we can consider a second "flaw correction" in our Hydro users.
Egaria died in combat, but with no other details that's all we can go off of. Presumably, this could mean her flaw is a lack of martial prowess. Tartaglia happens to be someone who carried every positive trait of both Hydro aechons and is able to fix their respective flaws. As a Harbinger and having been trained in the Abyss, he is easily one of the most powerful fighters in the world, lore-wise and is also a professional who is able to abandon his own wants to stick to the job when he needs to. He's also been shown perfectly capable of putting on a show, like Furina does, as seen in his story quest where he kept Teucer from finding out about his Fatui involvement. The difference is that he can actually back it up.
So he meets the qualifications, but that doesn't mean it's happening now right? Except, it seems like it is happening. As we learned from the Vision Hunt Decree, archons are perfectly capable of turning off a person's Vision remotely. What's the first thing to happen to him when he arrived in Fontaine? His Vision started malfunctioning. Next, the Oratrice declared him guilty, despite all evidence proving innocent. The direct result of both of these events was that he was arrested and unable to defend himself, so he ends up at Meropide. Once he arrives, a voice of some sort begins leading him to a busted pipe where Primordial Seawater is leaking out. Next we see of him, he seems to be floating in the Primordial Sea itself, as shown by the purple water.
Nearly every single event throughout Fontaine for Tartaglia has been explicitly been done to get him into the Primordial Sea. And what does he see there? A giant whale. Who's the only other character to be associated with whales? Kokomi, as shown in her demo. She's probably the next closest choice after Tartaglia, in fact, being a military general and priestess she has all of the same traits needed, but she wasn't in Fontaine so Tartaglia was picked instead.
So who is this whale? I say it's another fragment of Egaria, wanting to explain what's going on and to pass on the duties. As shown in the Narzissenkreuz quests, the Primordial Sea also connects to the Abyss, which explain him getting to see the whale when he was falling there years ago. And all of the Fontaine events have led up to the two of them being able to meet once more, somewhere that Whale Egaria can more freely communicate. If he does become the new Hydro Archon, it will also allow him to use his abilities without his Vision (and as such, let us keep it in our inventory). He's going to need a new, fake Vision of course… which is nicely foreshadowed by Neuvilette having a voiceline about how "other archons" use them. Furina doesn't seem to have one on her, so who was Neuvilette talking about for that? I think it was an error from Hoyo and they meant to keep it until after 4.2, when Tartaglia gets one of his own.
Furina and Childe seem like the seed that is nurtured and the seed that is not.
Furina, seed or fragment of hydro is given the position of a hydro archon but not realised into it, that is to say, she has the seed of power and never uses it so it is weak (like the Dragonheirs possession of a seed of elemental power making them react to their environment by growing lazy and sleeping but also forming fat and attuning to cryo from the text Experimental Records of the Bathysmal Vishaps)
Childe has a seed of hydro and has non stop honed (conditioned) that talent for his life beyond the realms of a normal human. In addition he has gained new affinty for other conditions (electro via delusion) and has cross contaminated that with whatever Skirk taught him with Foul Legacy which may or may not be primordial seed given from the whale (which I suspect could be a shade of the primordial one? or at lease shade affiliated). Then crossed that again with abyssal environment conditioning as a child. This could be that the primordial sea exposure could unlock that primordial seed in him and we see something else come out of this?
Either way, his power vs hers seems very nature and nurture based and I think that's neat
Edit: Childe also could be the culmination of the Tsartisa trying to reincarnate or create the primordial child from the riddle from Istaroth. Twelve harbingers and all that. Also connects pretty well to the prophecy of fontaine and the combination of children coming together.
"It roughly said that every granddaughter would give birth to twelve descendants, and each of them would then have sixty children. Every such child later would give birth to another sixty, who would go on to have children of their own. This would continue until at last, all the offspring would together give birth to the one and only primordial child"
FINALLY! someone who realizes this!
Your vids give me life
She just killed an entire nation, damn.
Your theories are excellent! You are one of those who I believe has come the closest to what is actually going on in Gension. I have listened to many other’s content, but they always did not seem to cover all the loose ends out there! Farina and Neuvillette are both big game changers and their particular situations bring another step toward clarity. (And more questions)
25:52 you're telling me my bae tartaglia who is my main since 1.1 is a god damn primordial one ?
My brain is expanding
