I can meet you somewhere in the middle. Some constellations on characters change the way you play the game, like C1 Hu Tao or C2 Raiden. That Aqua Simulacra weapon banner was great, so I didn't mind spending gems on that. I do save however, if it is a character that doesn't have exceptional early constellations or only one weapon I want in the banner
Only time weapon banner matters is for 5* characters. Legit and only after the second time around. If can get the character I'll wait till next banner for weapon unless I've taken a hiatus (like now) and my pity is fresh. The next time I do a wish will be on scaramouche rerun.
this sign cant stop me because i cant read
I've only ever pulled on the weapon banner 3 times. First 2 times I had to fail pity twice to get the weapon I wanted but for the 3rd I was lucky enough to win the 50/50 the first time.
They should only ever be pulled under three strict conditions:
1. Only go for the weapons they want for their top favorite characters, like Top 3 and no more than that.
2. When BOTH featured weapons are generally great, don't pull if the alternative is something like The Unforged 😭😭😭
3. When you have 270 wishes since that's the amount needed to guarantee the weapon on the worst case scenario.
If even one of these conditions aren't met then NEVER pull on the banner, it's not worth the cost.
Why I should r5? Jkjk
I wished for mistsplitter and pulled that shit first wish! I was very happy! ^_^
I disagree and agree to some of what you said.
Simply put ..it depends.
If you are like me and tired of building new characters that just sit on your roster collecting dust, then getting a constellation or weapon for a character you use all the time is the way to go!
I agree that new characters "can" provide new comps and synergies but if you been playing for years you probably don't need them. If you struggle to 36 star clear the abyss it "could" be that your characters are not developed enough rather than you needing a new character.

Anyway good video!
I totally agree that it’s nice to have a diverse roster to pull different teams from, but I also hate having to spend all of the resources and mats to build new characters😂
With that being said, I was planning on pulling for Kaveh to use as a driver in my Nilou/Nahida team but I actually just put Mona in there instead (in addition to Yao Yao) since I finally “lost” a 50/50 to her recently on Dehya’s banner. I think that because I have and use both Nilou and Nahida that I will likely pull on their weapon banner instead of pulling for Kaveh.
i prefer pull on the weapon banner for characters i love the most rather than pulling for new playstyle. I have actually 57 characters and use 17 of them (all are 90) i really want to polish them.
I'm a bit of a special case as I play Genshin as my main game and this means I have several accounts.
As I see it, getting more characters for the same account is fine up to a certain amount but beyond that it just a waste because you have no reason or chance to play them all. Once you have around 15-20 characters, you already have enough to fill all 10 team slots and beat any type of enemy or other content and "get new character" often means you get a character you already have on another account and/or don't even need and probably don't want to grind for again. So once an account is there I only pull for characters I have a good reason to want for the account, synergy or otherwise, otherwise I either get weapons which are significant increases (some are as good as 35-40% extra damage but others are less than 10!) or keep the primogems until there is a perfect banner that fits the account well.
I haven't yet pulled for a 5* constellation though, only weapons, but I eventually will as soon as one of my favorites shows up with a bunch of 4*s I want on the banner.
Also, a reminder, more characters means more grind and you won't have resin for them so it's not ideal unless you pay for extra resources or don't mind playing the game like a second job every day.
totally agree, been my standard policy since day 1, but I did pull like 10 or 20 but not since
Here an Advice for new players from a veteran player….
after almost 1000 days in genshin you will regret pulling for cons/weapons….
look guys this dude still plays aloy….. wtf ? kekw
Weapons and constellations is what is called vertical investment, its actually not particularly a bad idea to save up and go for constellations and signature weapon for your favorite character even as an f2p player. If you know what youre doing then it can actually be a better decision than trying out the game from a different perspective via new characters. Ive summoned for a lot of characters in the last 1.5 years but i always default to using ayaka in all “harder” content and for overworld I always use yoimiya, she is the staple, bread and butter for any adventure I have. And i do not see any character replacing them anytime soon, their just my favorite characters and getting their weapons and constellations in my opinion is much more pleasing than getting a random nilou or a random alhaitham that will just end up as dusty forgotten collectables after a few weeks
agreed ez skip but i did pull on the weapon banner and got both mistsplitter and calamity queller but i needed/wanted both of them so that was worth it to me and since i already have the key of khaj nisut and i dont need or want nahida weapon so its a easy skip for me tbh also the other weapon banner is to because i have amos bow and dont want/need baizhu weapon ether. lol
For me I got like jade cutters and jade spears because it’s a stat stick and when the game got stale I got my favorite units their best weapons.
btw i got calamity queller more because i wanted it because its good and looks cool i havent event leveled it up and i dont think imma even put it on shenhe even and thats even though i got 2 sadly but yeah i think i'll save them both back for future characters like if we ever get playable hydro yaksha somehow and my mistsplitter is for my ayaka and keqing its for both of them tbh. <3 lol
and as far as cons go there are some that are kinda worth it like c1 hu tao and c2 raiden shogun and c2 nahida at least.
I got baited on weapon banner. I was a good f2p for a long time but that one time ruined for me. I became small spender cuz of weapon banner. I regret doin that n never to do that again. Haven't spent a genesis for characters. All cuz of homa n Aqua.
Well, I would rather have one character badass as possible than 3 mediocre characters, something like raiden c2-3, nahida c1-2, yelan and so on
Nilou wants her key, Nilou is gonna get her key because Nilou DESERVES her key. ❤️
I think some weapon banners are worth pulling for. Especially on more mature accounts. Not for power but expansion of possibilities. For example the Elegy for the End is like having a brand new constellation a ton of different characters. It is like getting 50 extra constellations for different characters. Some constellations on characters open up new ways to play the game just like a new character. Raiden c2 is so impactful it will allow you to play new teams not realistically possible before.
I lost 150 primos today… didnt feel like logging in xD
Me who already have ATFD: Hmm hmm noted.
I do agree all ways go for one copy of a character unless you really want cons for that character the weapon banner is a no go for me . The only time I rolled in the weapon banner was back when ganyu got her second rerun. The break from this game is really nice
Ah, yes, those 6k enhancement ore and 9.7k crystal chunks i have nothing to do with, because all the new weapons goes only to weapon banners and not a single one was added to standard.
100% agree, there's nothing in the game actually hard enough to justify it. Same with cons, while some are tempting, like C2 Nahida or Raiden, ultimately, you can 36 star without them and frankly, more characters is almost always gonna be more fun than less that hit a little harder. Especially when 99% of the game will get instantly destroyed by a team of CO that are just leveled and have ok weapons and artifacts.
Who is the paddle weapon even good for besides nilou
guys drip market tomorrow! i’m confused on why everyone says it’s two days before the patch when they never post them until Monday at 4 am like who will be up to see a genetic copied and paste slim armed genshin cop out. but i hope we get more sumeru characters mainly desert because we’re lacking but at the same time hoyo is clearly Bias and hates desertfolk with their gut.
DONT SUMMON i lost 3 times before i got homa bc i forgot to do the path chart. it’s 100% RIGGED. and money hungry.
drip > logic
Yeah i think diversifying your account is much better than getting weapons or constellations.
Eula is potentially an exception for that for me but now i'm debating being a yae miko main
just to switch things up. I will especially consider it if i get nahida.
Yae/Zhongli/Nahida/Raiden. (If it's a scuffed team then it's a scuffed team, I don't do abyss so i can do what i want lol)
It's been a while since I watch your videos. Your opinion 'bout the weapon banner didn't change afterall, and I agree weapon banner is such a scam. Glad to know you're doing good, my guy Valk!
Weapon banner is a scam
I’m conflicted a bit. I am kind of a low spender. Usually just BP/welkin BUT i did whale out for C3 raiden and spent a couple hundred on the weapon banner for Ayaka recently. I have to say i’m not sure it’s worth it. if you get a new c0 character and you’re working on building them, having a lot of fun with a new playstyle, it can be very tempting to pull on the weapon banner to enhance that fun. Often when i’m in that honeymoon phase with a new char, i’m like “yeah this might be my new main!” and thus justify the primos spent. But it’s not a lasting feeling and everything gets old. In retrospect I can build pretty much any character with a 4 star weapon and still get very respectable results. I think you’re right that the value of a new playstyle is worth more than enhancing an existing character. Especially if you’re already 36 starring abyss with what you have.
also i think cons on 5 stars might be OP. My c3 raiden is incredible but she’s so strong i basically never use her outside abyss. It took away a bit of fun of the game.
Agree in general, but not sorry I saved up for C2 Raiden, and C1 Yelan is so much more fun than C0. I imagine C1 Hu Tao is worth it too…but yes, I had to skip…so, priorities.
Don't listen to him. Try to summon on weapon banner and try to r5 it. Spend a lot of money if you don't get it. If you don't have enough money, you might sell your house also but please summon.
Eventually you run out of resources to level and build characters, unless you whale. Once you're far enough into the game, the weapon banner can be excellent.
I just built Dehya, Yelan, and Shenhe. I only have 200 books and 6 million mora. I can't build anyone right now, and I'm BP/Welkin.
Also, Xiphos is on this banner.
