it somehow sound like Jackie Chan Adventure at first
i’m assuming that “lyre being plucked” you mentioned is a koto, which is basically a japanese zither. the koto was based on another east asian zither-like instrument called guzheng, which originated in china.
either that or it’s a shamisen (another plucked string instrument that also derived from a chinese instrument, sanxian.) idk i can’t rlly tell bc of the amount of percussion in the back LOL

It's also an interesting fact to know that almost every character trailer has the same leitmotif, don't know what song it is but it's there, cool!

I love the rap hip hop references cause he is an poet right, the cultural conection is incredible and really pleasing, plus the whole old japanese gritty black and white samurai cinema scene with beidou, masterfull.

When I first watched his trailer and the music started I got such a noragami vibe, like I could see Yato fight in that moment
I didnt expect japanese dubstep to hit this hard
The fragment rewinding and hiphop element should be paying homage to the Japanese anime ‘Samurai Shamploo'. And the black-and-white movie part may be the tribute to the Japanese director Akira Kurosawa(But I'm not sure)

this was an awesome reaction! i rarely see reactors appreciating the cultural importance of the background music used in character demos. kazuha's is insanely good, it's unexpected but it fits him so well. he's so agile and almost looks like he's gonna breakdance at some point. mhy definitely took references from samurai champloo and akira kurosawa's films. for me this is the 2nd best demo after zhongli's ;') edit: corrected 'trailer' to 'demo'
