  1. Thanks for helping me save my primos, Shark! Here's why I'm skipping him:

    1. My experience on this new time-limited event called Dodge Ball was that I was getting knocked down a lot and it wasn't fun.
    2. I already don't love the anemo hyper-carry teams – although I love Xiao and Heizou, I find they just spend way more time on the bench than Kazuha. They're harder to build and not the most flexible.
    3. Exploration has never been easier thanks to those sling shots all over Sumeru, boats for the sea, and so on. Sure, flying is nice, but the game is designed so characters who do NOT fly can reach everywhere on the map. Try getting the Electroculus on top of Tenshukaku without Kazuha, Venti, Albedo, or Zhongli… It sucks, but you can actually do it with Geo Traveler. You don't NEED a character who can fly, trust me.

  2. I actually really enjoy wanderer. Admittedly he’s C1 and I run him with C6 Faruzan c6 Xingqiu and C6 Layla for a great freeze team. By the time Layla’s shield runs out, the enemies are usually still frozen. I rarely have issues with getting hit with wanderer. I can definitely see how this would be different with lower levels of investment/constellations though. He definitely has issues but he’s so fun to play with!

  3. Wanderer was the first 5 star character I got from wishing, I got really lucky and I got him in one 10-pull. I am ar 56 now and he's been my main ever since, still farming for his artifact domain. He's not the best dps to use in the abyss, sure. But I still love him because of his design and personality. My first ever triple crown character😁

  4. 'So is it worth wishing for him? '

yes.. if you are planning to make your exploring easier…
and personally,,, i used him as my main in the abyss… and it was fun.
he's the easiest character i've used so far.

  5. Regret him because he's a reject. Mother didn't want him, Fatui didn't really want him. If he didn't have useful information and a connection to Irminsul then Nahida wouldn't want him either. Not to mention the one positive he had was drip and hoyo ruined it

  6. Well Actually some of my bow characters have aim issues also but they do get better with the experience points they get from each battle they participate in. I’m pulling for wanderer for fun especially while doing overwhorld exploration. I have others that can help with battle damage if needed…😅😃
Plus this game seems to lean torwards character & elemental interactions…🤔😃so I will likely never be playing with a team of one to do & be everything…🤔😊

  7. Thank you, Sharks, you're always so considerate and honest, it's very helpful for a newbie like me, other people are always saying "pull for whoever characters you want" without explaining the 'consequence' properly unlike you which is so important, because oftentimes Genshin community is carelessly fanatic and selfish even though Genshin Impact is practically a single player game without competitive aspect but DPS check, I'm frustrated everytime someone says "Skill issue!" or "You can play other game!" when someone's sharing slightly bad opinions about the game system or characters.

  8. I had a chance to use Wanderer for first time in the limited event for primos the other day and I totally felt what´s said here, specially, the falling and raising slow animation after being hit in the air is soo annoying, maybe his damage evasion capability when floating would be too power creep if he had a smaller target size but why this slow animations to make him soo much vulnerable? , I still think he´s an unique character in genshin but it has more downsides than advantages if you take the fun part of floting aside.

  9. Wanderer was definitely the biggest bait in this game yet. I spent like 500$ ( plus my saved up 200 wishes ) trying to get wanderer, c6 faruzan and his weapon ( also got c1 in the process) and i spent like almost 2-2.5 months farming artifacts for him while benching my alhaitham. And then i decided to build my alhaitham for once and he is much more optimised and fun to play due to just the optimization issues and my alhaitham still does much higher dmg than him with a 4 star sword and lvl 80 teammates and about 20 days of artifact farming. Then you see some hard coping trying to defend all this garbage by the game devs saying it's skill issue or you don't have good enough artifacts. So much bs just so some people can defend their artificial characters

  10. I've liked his design since I first saw him in 1.1 and when he was finally released I was so exited and have been using him since in abyss, the point's you've made in this video are valid and even though there are definitely some ways you can avoid some of the problems like using your ascend once after his e activation to avoid most of grounded enemies attack in a crowded situation, you can cancel his knock down animation by spamming dash (though you use your blue stamina bar), auto targeting for vertical enemies are weird but that applies to most if not all genshin characters.

He is definitely not an easy character to play especially when you dont bring any shields but its very satisfying for me when I clear with him and with more investment poured into him it just makes him much much better. Currently at c2r1 and planning to c6 him this rerun. 🙏

  11. Thank you for sharing another side of how wanderer works! It matters a lot to me who's considering if I should pull or not. These downside don't really shown on Test runs or Trials so I'll add it into decision as well.

  12. 1. You say his damage feels lackluster but don't show any damage showcase of his damage being luckluster and that other teams can do way more damage. Do you have any gameplay or math to prove this? Nothing to back that statement up is shown in this video. What other teams that use bennett are much stronger than wanderer teams with bennett and can you provide anything at all to back that claim up? You showed Wanderer and then a Hyperbloom team, but nowhere in either footage do we actually see the hyperbloom team doing better. You just said it is yet the footage doesnt support that. You are 52 seconds into your hyperbloom time and only killed 5 wolves, not even close to being done with them, while your Wanderer team is already on the 2 big wolves and lector 47 seconds in. How is that in any sense his damage being lackluster and other teams doing more damage?
    2. Uhm when does Wanderer's A1 ever get ignored…? Why does using him as an Anemo driver matter for his A1? His A1 has absolutely nothing to do with using him as a driver. It gives him buffs based on what elements his Skill comes into contact with when you cast it. What does that have to do with driving…?
    3. Wanderer does not have any issue hitting targets. You said this while showing him attacking the wolflord coming out of its portal. It literally can not be targeted during that animation. You couldve done what you were doing there with any other character and the exact same thing would have happened. Then you show it against the aeonblight while it is in flight – every ranged characters aiming gets jank on the aeonblight while it is midair. Wanderer can workout around this by trying to hit the tail and his A4 can also hit the weakpoint on its chest and knock it down. Or, you could just simply…knock it down with Faruzan.
    4. If you are too high to hit enemies in the overworld…just land. They are overworld enemies…whats the issue? And then the footage that you show against those two Geovaship, dude, come on. That is not Wanderer ascended slightly to avoid attacks. I know what Wanderer ascended slightly looks lile. You put him on Zhongli's pillar and used Wanderer's skill from there. that is extremely misleading. Wanderer actually just ascended slightly is not going to have any issue hitting 99% of enemies.
    5. That is flat out false and I have no idea how you managed to have Wanderer for this long and think that. Just like any other character, you can cancel Wanderer's interrupted animation. I dont know what button it is on keyboard but on controller you just press the dash button, like literally every other character in the game, to cancel and recover from getting interrupted. I am honestly baffled that you havent tried doing the exact same thing that literally every other character in the game does.
    6. Errr no, Zhongli is by no stretch of the imagination the only good shielder for Wanderer. Layla and Thoma both provide a lot more DPS than Zhongli and they absolutely do not run into uptime issues. Thoma literally has a longer uptime than Zhongli (24s vs 20s) and Layla lasts 12s. Wanderer's field time is 12-13s and the last 2 seconds can be spent in an iframe for his burst, so Layla's shield uptime is still plenty for him. And do you have any actual math, gameplay, or anything at all to show that he can't make up for the damage lost by using a shielder instead of an offensive support? because the math shows that his best shield options are not far behind his offensive options, since they all provide him with really good offensive utility anyway.
    7. N-no it isn't…while it is true that Wanderer can get hit by a lot of attacks that look like they shouldnt hit him, that does not by any stretch of the imagination make him easier to get hit compared to other characters. Plenty of attacks still just cant hit him, you can move while attacking to stay out of reach for a lot of attacks, and he is the only character in the game that can dodge without taking a DPS loss, when his A4 passive is up. Again it is true that he gets hit by more attacks than it looks like he should, but saying he is easier to hit than other characters on the ground is just false.

  13. Shark. What is going on?…idk I really want to laugh and say "skill issue" but you sound so mad in this video. This video is not a hot take… Are you ok?

  14. Just use shield to be interruption resistant, his damage isn't that bad but I do agree that him missing attacks when enemy is just a bit lower is super dumb and annoying

  15. So, as a Wanderer main, here’s my opinion on this. I don’t disagree with everything, he can be annoying sometimes.

2:53 : Personally, I’ve barely invested on my Wanderer. He does around 20-30k dmg just with Bennet as a support. I’ve also barely used him with Faruzan bcuz I’m too bored to invest in her, but she still helps him do 20-30k even tho she’s lv40, C1 and not even on set.

4:18 : I do take advantage of swirl reactions actually. He may not swirl as much as my Kazuha, but he does swirl around 2-3k which is nice additional dmg.

6:00 : That, I can definitely agree with. It’s not annoying only bcuz he can’t aim, but bcuz u constantly have to adjust your height. If you’re too high, u won’t be able to hit the targets below, and if ur too low, like in the boss u fought, he won’t be able to hit targets that are high. But, that makes sense at least?

7:28 : Well, people have already talked about that, so I’m just gonna add that u can put characters like Xingqiu in ur team that decrease resistance to interruption and deal a lot of dmg off field.

And sth I’d like to add is that he’s pretty much the best unit for exploration. Not just bcuz he can fly. In Sumeru for example, u usually need a bow character to do most of the puzzles. Wanderer helps wit that. Those floating flowers in Liyue that u also need a bow character for? He also helps with that and he does it fast.

In the end, u should just pull for the character that matches ur playstyle preferences the most. For me, Wanderer’s attacks are more satisfying than dendro reactions, for example. It’s all up to preference.

  16. Dude, if Meta is the concern then no hypercarry like, Itto, Xiao, Wanderer and Eula, is recommended or any character that doesn't utilize reaction. If you don't plan to go absolute balls deep in-terms of investing in their artifacts, talents and getting C6 of their support, just play dendro teams or other reaction utilizing characters. Which is a con because getting C6 of a dedicated support can get expensive for the primos.

Now that all that is said. I don't agree much with your takes man.

I think putting "Uses Bennett" as a con for a character is not very smart, he is a support, he is made to be used. National uses him, and he is the sole reason for that team variant to be so strong. If on one side, you are using a hypercarry with Bennett, just use Hyperbloom/Spread/Double hydro teams on the other side, they don't use Bennett. Nor is it like, Bennet is the sole support in the game. Maybe before 3.0/2.7 "Uses Bennett" could be con, but not anymore. Why is hyper investing on character is made to sound like a problem? You need to hyperinvest on every team that is not dendro centered. Even if it's a Hu Tao team or National, you need to have C6 of the support characters for those teams to perform at their peak. Without C6, those teams will still do fine and that also goes for every non-reaction hypercarry team. Also any issues mentioned since the Floating part can be solved with a shielder, even Thoma or C0 Layla works with him, you don't need to pull Zhongli for him.

Almost all the issues you pointed out could just be summarised as "He uses teammates, bad". But one of your cons is right, and that is the fact that it can be expensive to get high damage output from. Anybody wanting to decide whether to pull Scara or not, IDK, it's up to you. What I can say is, the video maker makes him sound much more worse than he actually is, it can either be intentional or the person just doesn't know enough. To put it into perspective, Scara is A-tier, and if meta is the sole focus, he is not the one. There are other characters that can do abyss better without as much investment as he needs. But he can still do abyss really nicely even if he is the sole damage dealer of his team, assuming you are willing to invest some time and primos in him. And that goes for previously mentioned hypercarries.

  17. My AR45 Wanderer with venti, benny, and zhongli helped me defeat that pyro abyss lector on 12-1. I don't have hydros because my account is freaking dry, unfortunately.

I am f2p, but I invested quite a lot on him, but not that much since it's easy to get good artifacts on desert pavillion and FoPL domain. He carried me through the spiral abyss pretty well.

There are obvious issues that need to be pointed out, just like shark said in this video. The visual mismatch of elevation and hitbox is terrible. Being trapped by ground restrictions while on windfavored state is unfortunate. Did you know that you could be hit by dendro spikes while on air, and if you landed on dendro spikes, you could get stuck there and get DMG continuously. I hope they release a one piece set circlet that just increases the resistance to interruption.

He is my only character that deal 11k per hit, up to 20k-35k at just LV80. I'm not yet regretting it as much as I regretted xiao. But as long as the issues are not resolved, I'll probably just tank it with zhongli for the meantime, and respond to the feedback with complaints on fixing wanderer.
