Why AYATO is Still WORTH Pulling (or NOT) Character Analysis | Genshin Impact 3.3

Kamisato Ayato rerun banner is coming in Genshin Impact 3.3, but is Ayato still worth pulling? This video will discuss what you can expect from Ayato and why I think he is worth pulling. I also include things to consider before pulling him, such as how Ayato vs Childe compares, plus upcoming 5-stars Raiden and Al-Haitham too. #GenshinImpact #Ayato #Genshin

  1. I gotta love this guy. Super easy to build due to 2pc Glad 2pc HoD being such a good set on him (2 sets where you will get tons of artifacts passively), having a fine guaranteed F2P sword option in the Kagotsurube Isshin, and his substat requirements being just slightly different than a traditional DPS so you are marginally more likely to wind up with a decent artifact (or to put it another way if you roll an HP% along the way you feel slightly disappointed instead of crushed).

  2. C2 Ayato is a good chunk of damage over C0 for enemies under 50%. C1 and 2 are something like 50% bonus damage for his E hits, which are extremely strong for a mere C2. 5.55% common bonus for his E hits, with 5 Namisen stacks for C2. A 22K HP (average for mid tier artifacts) gives 1221 flat damage bonus with 5 Namisen stacks. That doesnt sound like alot, but the comparison to ATK% sands contrbution is 965 damage (rounded).
    907 * .466 (ATK% sands percentile value) = 422.62.
    422.62 * 1.284 (E 3RD hit at level 10) = 522.69
    422.62 + 524.69 = 965 (rounded)
This means C2 specifically adds approximately an ATK% sands worth of damage for mid-range artifacts with a few HP% rolls.
This is sourced from my unbuffed 1944ATK/80 + 194 CR + CD C2 Ayato with 22104 HP with his 4P Heart of Depths that is very mid (sub 35CV on every piece). R1 Haran.

I dont suggest spending money to get the cons. But, if youve been saving for Ayato and dont care about Hat Ham, then C2-3 Ayato is a solid and consistent damage increase.

  3. I have and use Kokomi and want another hydro user so as an ayato lover it's a must pull!
I don't have raiden so yes thats a tough choice but I have so many electro users and honestly my teams are doing good

  4. Something I almost never see mentioned, is how much of a great pull Ayato is for those who play on mobile. He's by far the easiest onfield DPS to play as, and the fact he clears most camps with a single E also makes him great for overworld exploration.

  5. What I LOVE about Ayato is that he easily fits into so many teams. Vaporize, electro-charged, freeze, hypercarry, and everything bloom related. Well, this advantage applies to most hydro damage dealers but Ayato is just so easy to use that he always becomes my first pick in either over world and the abyss.

  6. The worst thing about pulling for Ayato doesnt even have to do with Ayato. He's on at the same time as Raiden, and Yelan's rerun is coming 3.4, so he's sandwiched between the literal 2 best characters in the game.

  7. Might be a lukewarm take, but I kinda dislike Ayato as a unit (he's a great character though). I don't think he's 'bad' or unbalanced – quite the opposite in fact. He is probably the most balanced unit they've ever made, or at least the most balanced 5 star in the game, and his kit is very flexible and just generally good, even if it copies other units and their abilities/ults… and that's my problem. I feel like a unit that's not really unique is boring, phoned-in design. Like, his kit is flashy and fun to watch (since you don't do much inputting lol), and again it's far from bad or clumsily implemented like a certain anemo 4 star as of late – but it's not really inspired or unique either.

IMO, you should never have to say that it's not worth using or getting a character just because you have another character that's not different enough for their differences to matter. Ayato has the opposite problem that Itto has for me – Itto and the units that make up mono-geo (except Zhongli) are too niche for me to want to pull for and build, while Ayato is too much like Childe (who I already have and enjoy using) to want to get either. I'd much rather see new and unique mechanics entirely (even if they don't always work out, like Yae Miko and her silly, blockable and random lightning strike turrets) over something that's just a Frankenstein of other characters' kits that ends up being good. Like, why didn't they just make the original character like that in the first place?

Honestly, if Ayato ended up being a new form of Childe or something (like some of these games do, where a 'new' unit is an established character but with different powers and movesets), then I'd be all down for it, but making what is essentially a dumbed-down version of a character with a meta-friendly ultimate into a ""new"" character is just lazy IMO.

The thing is, with Childe specifically (and Diluc), they could actually make a new version of them as a 'new' until. Most characters are kinda locked into their abilities since they only have a vision and thus one way to channel elemental energy, but Childe and Diluc each have a delusion too; they could just make a tweaked version of their kit, have it be electro (and whatever element Diluc's is, I forgor) and bam, 'new' unit. At least in this case it'd be cool in the context of the characters, instead of just being lazy lol.

…though it would be cool to have the same characters in a party and 'switch' to their different versions – imagine that, instead of the little 'bloop' teleport into other units, the animation of switching between them is unique, like it visually is a transformation into an alternative form even though it's technically a new unit entirely (which sounds like an insanely minute detail Hoyoverse would and could pull off lol).

  8. I wanted Ayato on his first banner, despite having Childe, but I lost the 50:50. A friend pulled him though and I'm clearing abyss for her, which showed me that yes, Ayatos playstyle isn't for me. He's solid, but Childe is so much more fun. So Ayato's now an easy skip for me.

  9. he may not be strongest like xingqiu or yelan or even childe in national comp. but his versatility makes him so worth it. you can literally fit him in any team comp, and he will do dmg regardless

  10. I got Childe on his new rerun but before him I had Ayato
For me, Ayato is much more comfortable to play and easier to build but Childe… he is much more difficult to build and master.
I still tested him though in the abyss and I found him to be equally or in some cases less useful than Ayato but his burst makes him excellent in dealing with bosses.
Easier build, easier gameplay, decent dmg, I'd say Ayato.
Complex gameplay and more investing, Childe.

  11. I pulled Ayato from his debut banner and got his Weapon after losing to the Elegy & Aquila Favonia. I loved using this man for my initial taser team but when Dendro came out is when I felt he got his true calling. Man's such an effective driver for Hyperbloom teams. Him, Yelan/Xingqiu, Kuki, and Collei/DMC is such a fantastic team. His damage is a bit on the low side but that doesn't matter to me because of his sheer utility.

  12. Im so grateful for getting ayato on his first banner, now im all ready for dendro daddy for my daddy team, after him it will all be an easy skip until baizhu, childe and scaramuche, unless an unexpected new husbando comes out of nowhere lmao

  13. I was going to pull for Ayato, but Itto came suddenly in 44 pulls and I won 50/50 with him (I got Scara in 40 pulls just before that and thought I was safe), so I guess I gotta wait for Ayato's rerun again :D.
I might get another 75-80 pulls before 3.3 ends, but don't know if I will win another 50/50.

I do have invested Child so it's not a loss for the account, but I like Ayato and gonna pull for him anyway.
