But i think it has something missing from it… th definition of "canon"
Yeah yeah, canon being something like "oficial information" should be obvious but this whole discussion only happened because it became a buzzword and the community mistreated as "original intent", "author's first ideas", "only one can be canon" and some other things
So i think you could have used it as another example of why both are cannon

The problem that they created with this and one of the things that I hate about Genshin story telling is the fact that it ruins your immersion to the game everytime you see the other twin in promotional event and shit. They could've just stick to one twin and move on.
Imo lumine is better suited for abyss princess

Well they both may be canon but aether looks more of a canon protag than lumine since his role as the abyss prince seems kinda weak played.

Imagine if the lumine protagonist and the aether protagonist universes gets a portal which leads to each others universes, that would be so cool.
I started with Aether, i started to get a bit bored because no more quest left. So i started another account with Lumine for being back on quest ( Angry, emotional, etc). And i'm really happy to play both of them.🥰
I think Mihoyo saying that there's no one canon is for PR purposes.

I’ve come to learn talking to people about this subject is a brick wall. You have the normal people who don’t care, preference is preference and honestly it doesn’t matter but if you run into people who are set in Aether being canon there is no reason to even bother talking to them on the matter. At the end of the day out of all the lore it’s probably the least significant given that the scenes don’t change depending on who you picked.
I personally just think my personality aligns more with Lumine and can relate to the idea of a younger sibling left to fend for themself, plus I like her design more. I also really like the sad nature aether brings to the antagonistic role, not one who is justified in their actions but the self awareness to what they are doing isn’t necessarily good. It’s not everyone’s favorite things and that’s fine I’m glad when others have their own preference/reasonings, because as I said, it’s literally one of the least important factors in the game.
I choose Aether simply because I'm a man. Besides, I wanted to sink into the story more than just watch it.
But on the other hand, I also want Lumine because she's adorable. So I chose her on my alt account.
It’s aether. Looks at the way only female characters have special feeling for the traveller and you will see. Male characters just simply consider him/her as a friend

I think you don't understand marketing strategy. About 60% of the player base is freaking horny. Make the same add with a male and female character and people will click on the one with female. And Mihoyo just used that. Show a female character to bring in all those horny players and once it gets popular, then bring everything to the right track.
Just why do you think Lumina kicks the ground while Aether punches the ground while using the geo burst?
