What This Giant Glowing Cave is Hiding in Sumeru Desert (Genshin Impact Theory)

Let’s take a look at this extremely interesting place in the northernmost part of Desert of Hadramaveth. It is an insanely massive tunnel cavern from which golden light can be seen shining out. Its viewpoint has some hints about what it could be. Join me as I analyze this area.

  1. It's amazing how you figure all this stuff out CatWithBlueHat. Honestly it kind of sounds like mankind always ruins things for animals and nature in every world.

  2. If apep really is dead, they we should've found something similar to Tatarigami in the desert.
I don't play Genshin anymore so I'm not exactly sure (do correct me if I'm wrong).
So it is quite possible that he is still alive but for such a big creature to not be found so far, it is very likely the Fatui or the Abyss Order is upto something with it.

BTW I'm curious to ask, is there a celestial nail inside that sandstorm in the desert. I haven't seen any pictures of it yet so I really wanna know. Or is the inside of the sandstorm being gated?

  3. Since we all know the size of Scaramouches Gundam like Robot, we also know that Genshin Impacts engine is able to handle such giant Enemys.

So Technically it would be possible that he could be enormous.

  4. I think it would be extremely cool to see some sort of biome based from giant Apep’s rotting corpse, like a cave covered in blood and flesh, with puddles of muriatic (stomach) acid.

Similar to the Rotten Vale in Monster Hunter World, where the vale was created when a Dalamadur (a giant snake dragon) died there and other monsters started to go there to die and rot, as well as scavengers and insects to consume the meat.

  5. I think sth related to the land would be our next weekly boss, since in every country, we have 1 boss we have to fight "relates to the Abyss/Fatui/the land" and 1 "related to the God's problem".
So far we have Dvalin, Azhdaha, Raiden puppet 2.0 and Raiden puppet 1.0 as "God's problem". And we have Lupical, Childe and Signora as "Other reasons". So perhaps our future boss shall be Fatui related (high chance I think), Abyss doings or just sth orginally comes from Sumeru ._.

  6. besides the paimon barrier, there also seems to be an invisible wall blocking off the tunnel – i tried shooting arrows into it but they exploded in midair. based on this, i’d definitely venture a guess that it may be a future domain entrance

  7. Let me bring up something that further connects serpents to dragons. If you look up the type of dragon called the lindworm (or lindwyrm/lindwurm), that particular type does not look like a dragon with wings. The lindwurm has a solely serpentine appearance. I can't remember where I read about it or which region/mythos it comes from, but there ya go.

  8. We will probably get the new weekly boss in the last desert expansion in about 2-3 months.

Another theorist on Reddit pointed out that there are certain areas in the tunels that look like giant bone fossils similar to Orobashi but darker.

  9. We still haven't seen Nahida (or more precisely Rukkhadevata's) "pet" or "side-kick" like Dvalin is for Venti, Azhdaha for Zhongli, and Miko for Ei.

I have a feeling that Nahida's second story quest is gonna reveal that. I dont think Apep is gonna be the one, but maybe it is indeed something to do with Apep.
