What Happened To Pyro? Why It's No Longer The Best Element | Genshin Impact

The first year of Genshin Impact’s history was characterized by an overabundance of Pyro characters and a heavy focus on Pyro, leading many to believe it was the strongest element in the game, a statement that was reinforced by three of the strongest characters: Bennett, Hu Tao and Xiangling carrying the majority of its success. Today we’re gonna discuss the downfall of Pyro, and why it’s no longer the best element in Genshin Impact.

  1. Little correction: Dihya will most likely be a 5*. Leakers only assumed she's a 4* before 3.0 because they saw some photos of her from the Samsara quest and assumed that those come from her hangout event which is 4* exclusive

  2. before watching this video just to be clear since kazuha release anemo is the strongest element in the game no doubt. pyro will always have strong main dps as well as bennet one of the strongest sup units so its like a must pick element not like geo….

  3. I feel that genshin could just change Klee from dps to support, run a banner with her so people who want her now can get her,and swap make bennet a standard baner 5 star diluc 4 because now diluc is just not that good.

  4. They needed to make the 'big three' 4 stars we know today ridiculously strong because during release, the roster was so little to work with. Everyone besides the starting trio had to matter for floor 12.

  5. We need to start getting character that work really well with certain weaker characters. 5 stars like Klee, Diluc, Jean, Mona, Qiqi, Ayato, Nilou, Venti, Albedo, , Keqing, Yoimiya, Zhongli. Some of these characters are decent under some circumstances (so don't come for me) but a character that would buff the play style of these characters to Hutao, Ganyu, Ayaka tier would still be not as good as those characters bc it would take 2 team spots. But characters that pretty much say "this effect works on these characters" would be great to buff those weaker characters. if they don't want to do this then they just need to rework the numbers for most of these characters.

  6. What makes pyro so good but not the best is it’s one dimensional: it can only provide damage. It’s a good reliable element for damage. Unlike pyro, cryo has access to the best cc in the game: freeze, while hydro boasts itself as one of the best reaction enabler in the game (arguably better than dendro)

  7. They could make it so pyro has something with, not the impact of the damage, but the aftermath, like burn in pokemon. So they are still about damage, but they are debuffing the enemy to deal less of it or make it so they take more.

  8. I fully agree, Bennet is the worst mistake Mihoyo have made
However rn the only way I see it
Create a 5 star with better uptime of a burst and make a flashy cool skill
However make sure the AoE is bigger then bennets BUT the buff is like 10% lower so you get QoL but you pay for the dmg increase, kinda like Nahida but pyro

  9. I still think Hu Tao + Xingqiu + Yelan is the most op dps (if we talk about C0 characters) it's single target but I still think its the strongest.
Or I'm just trash with Dendro

  10. Pyro is my favourite element and I can say this is true.
Bennet is super easy tok get in the game and it’s hard for nee player ( like me ) too make teams with out him because of his support capability’s.

    The Pyro reactions are good
And the one elemental reaction that I learn first and got the hang of the fastest was overload.Which has explosive damage but it’s problem is knock back. Not a bad Reaction just not one that is very confertable too use.

  11. No other element can beat hydro. Except hypercarry teams every other teams needs hydro to work (national, international, freeze, bloom, hyperbloom, burgeon, taser, vaporise) even aggravate teams need hydro to function properly by converting it to quickbloom.

  12. With Faruzan's release Hydro, Pyro, and Dendro are the only ones without their element specific supports and with how great Bennet and Xiangling are together a unit that supports Mono Pyro would probably break the game. (They also have to be an archer if they're a 4 star)

  13. Im REALLY hoping that the Pyro archon will be a Big support for Pyro, i feel like every archon will be support to Always be useful, but man i Hope Pyro archon is a support FOR Pyro, it would bé great we lack Pyro buffer here

  14. A Pyro character that can apply a lot of Pyro without dealing much damage to allow Hydro/Cryo characters like Ayato or even Ganyu to constantly Vape/Melt their attacks would be a cool idea lol

  15. The issue of Pyro once again emphasizes the one-dimensional battle style of Genshin.
    "Kill as fast as possible"

If you already have created the most powerful damage character for an element, there is nothing to really add for this game.
Thoma and Yinyan both waste powerbudget on having shields which is just not a useful mechanic to waste power on in this game.

  16. It's not a problem if you're like me and try to have each person on one team only. So if I use Kazuha with Cyno, he's not on a team with anyone else. (There are a couple exceptions, but I try to have unique teams.)

  17. The reason they're not releasing more pyro chars isn't because they're trying to power creep other elements to their level, it's because pyro is the most populace element. You said it yourself, it's been over a year since the last new pyro thoma, and we still don't have any other element that has more units than pyro. It's an effort to diversify the roster not devalue the element.

Game haven't had a power creep problem like, at all. The closest thing we got to powercreep was yelan who is just xingqiu but 5 star, but even she isn't that much better than him. Her numbers are bigger but her hydro application is lower and she needs batterying to work, there is a reason double hydro is a thing and you don't really see double geo hu tao with just yelan. or national with yelan.
