Lyney does solid damage, and may pop off in a mono pyro team… but I was very unimpressed with the play style, and don’t really think I enjoy the character or want to recommend him to anyone who plays Genshin Impact #genshin

…after seeing you explain it in Razor language, I actually like his playstyle. Granted I was never a fan of Tartag or Alhaitham's style cuz I'm kinda casual and those require a bit more finesse to manage their cooldowns/mirrors than I would like to use. The problem for me is there are too few pyro supports at the moment. But that auto aim of the fireball with the charged shot and the sword from above is a lot of extra damage and easy hits. I'm not a big fan of managing HP, but this one seems more lenient or forgiving in regards to that mechanic. The fact he can heal himself is insane

You can MANUALLY destroy his burst.
This is playstyle.
1. Use kuki E for constant heal.
2. Make 5 stacks in lyney.
3. Use Bennet burst.
4. Use lyney burst combo: Q > press E quickly > press E again
There is a reason for his E & Q to have SAME CD.
To be honest the best rotation for Lyney is 3charge shot + Ult then Bennett Ult, Kazuha Ult then swap Lyney 1charge shot + Elemental skill and you'll definitely get Giga nuka damage.
Imo Yoimiya is the best pyro bow user, she easily synergizes with hydro units like Yelan and Xingqiu.
Lyney is a beast. All the content creators who actually do deep dives have been singing his praises.
Too early to make a decisive decision. Proving ur point a dps is just another way of getting a task done (damage). The games bern out long enough that most people who played early on have options already to choose or hard invest into 1 character

I love lyney and I think his ultimate is very fun. It's so troll and it gives more incentive to be in close range, rather than ganyu, who is basically made to stay at long range. It makes the fight more engaging having to be in close range as well. Sure anyone can throw on a zhongli + bennet combo. But that counts for basically any team where you dont want to work with dodges. If you don't play zhongli on his team, there is more skill expression there. Taunts wont always hit and you need to keep track of your hp even with just bennet. We all know charged attacks take time, so there is the though of ''dodge or charge up the charged attack''. His taunt is also pretty good to my surprise, but it wont always get enemies taunted. That would be OP anyway.
I think you can compare him to Tartaglia and Alhaitham in the way that there is some skill involved if you don't run a zhongli. I'm not going to have the discussion of who is harder to play, I'm just saying there is some skill involved. That is the fun. You find him clunky to play, but that is the charm. It takes at least ''some'' effort to play him well.
Like you can play a game, with the most op characters in the game, press skill/ult done like xiangling, but in the end we all know that gets stale after a while and there is need for some challenge/something less of what at least I find to be boring (as a longer term player).
I do think you will love Neuvilette though. Wait until he comes out. He's very unique. I saw some leaks online. Trust me when I say he could be your guy.

It is def a whale character for next generation whales in Genshin. The idea is to boost his damage so high that you basically do not need to use charge shots. This is similar to how HuTao whales play. They dont have to do rotations cuz the enemies die in one. Also if you talk strictly Abyss, there is no way to make enemies stay in place I guess Kazuha could do it, but I don't think it will work like you think. Charged users need time to do damage. More likely is you walking around in a hat chasing enemies
My Lynney is not even fully leveled and his talents are not leveled either and he is already on par with Ganyu from a personal raw damage output (no Bennett or Kazuha/VV buffs for the testing. He is niche and if you don't like him or his plastyle that is fine and understandable to skip him, but he is actually super strong. He gets so much damage from mono pyro passives that it completely makes up for no reactions so he can keep up with hutao and yoimya vape teams, from a numbers perspective but there will be times when one may outdo the other depending on enemies.
Personnally I like everything of him, but man is burst is soo boring that I rather play Yoimiya
I honestly don’t think we need nor do I want any more pyro 5 star main on field DPS characters. I think Lyney would work great if we had more 5 star off field characters. At this point, I don’t care if they’re not better than Xiangling. Just give me an option that isn’t Xiangling. Dehya was supposed to be the savior but all she did was disappoint us. I think Lyney would be pretty great with just more off field pyro options.

This video has some pessimism and ignorance on lyney kit and playstyle also I think you shouldn’t do a guide about a character with this little info on it his passive gives him as much damage than a melt his ult can be cancelled and your rotation is pretty bad in the other I agree 100% about the elemental reaction element reaction are so fun and cool that not using it might feel boring. C2 Nahida doesn’t shred def it give crit to blooms hyperbloom burgeon

I’m so confused, what was the point of this video? His gameplay is meant to be that of multi-combo CA-Burst-Skill that lets you quick swap into other dps as well. Like if you don’t like the the character just say that and cut the video the first minute. The whole thing felt like senseless rambling.
I really appreciate Mtashed for being so frank, unlike pretty much all the other big genshin youtubers and streamers. I know he's burned out from genshin and isn't exactly stoked for the water exploration (ever since I realized that Fontaine would mean lots of swimming I've been dreading it…), but I'm glad he's still giving at least a bit of honest coverage.
Heh, literally on my sidebar as I type there's thumbnails with "Lyney is Amazing!" and "Marvelous Pyro DPS!" (guess who those are?), meanwhile I'm here on Mtashed with his head in his hands shaking in disbelief going "Just… don't do it, guys. Don't."
While I'm here I gotta say I'm pretty bummed on most of the Fontaine's characters designs except Arlecchino, Wriosthesly (how tf do you spell his name) and Furina. Which I guess is good in a sense? I can finally save up for some constellations or just grab Arlecchino and then save up for Natlan. Hopefully some of the unrevealed 4 stars might be cool (I was pleasantly surprised with Layla, Heizou and Kirara, for example).

on c0 in monopyro team he is a little worse than klee(she has no uptime hole in her kit and has access to the widsith) if u for some reason want to use him in any other team the best option will be to use him in hu tao team to deal damage when she will be on her cd, but still ember,EMBER with elegy will buff whole team damage that much, that Lyney damage/second will be a little bit worse.
The rotation is wrong. You want to charge 3 times over bennett burst. Then burst with lyney and they E. You go through everyone and rinse and repeat

I'm personally skipping him, as i already have alot of DPS characters. And i already have yoimiya & hu tao as two pyro dps characters. I may pull for him in the future, i just would rather pull for chars like nahida or raiden which i don't have. Or maybe Neuvillette which is a Character i extremely want.
Yoimiya is a much better DPS imo. Pair her with Yelans burst and her skill and they are a problem
