i know this event quest was made for players to come back or else they get fomo, but i can’t help but feel that it’s neglectful on mihoyo’s part to keep such lore for a limited time. it’s a shame because this quest is SO good, but in terms of story continuation—it’s not accessible and it won’t entirely make sense/misinterpreted in his story quest part ii or archon quest (if he’s involved)
I may be stupid but I gotta know something. The traveler said that albedos mark is back. What does that mean? Albedo said that the impostor whiped it off since its a mark of imperfection and he never told us of he could make it dissapear and reappear.
Mh, my theory is that the fake Albedo is Joel's father. I assume that real Albedo fought with him but spared him (because there is mentions of blood and injuries which is weird considering that Joserf was "lost" or considered dead for a long while) and he gave him this "role" to be a human accepted by other humans, like he wanted. The Albedo in mondstadt is the real one for me and my reason for it not even very logical, but mostly practical knowing mihoyo. This was an event quest, not an actual albedo side quest. New players wont be able to play this and if they were to make a sequel, new players couldnt understand anything.
I think the final albedo was the real one playing a joke. After all, he does know Alice and went along with the Dodo King thing she set up without letting anything slip.
the prank at mondstadt is just albedo wanting to say, he has the handle there. also, if the real albedo can remove the star mark and make them visible again, that means the "fake" albedo can too.
It's the real Albedo. That last part is supposed to show his growth as a human. Meanwhile Joel's father who we know for sure is dead due to his notes we find, suddenly appears hardly worse for wear and conveniently amnesiatic.
yeah, i was REALLY sus seeing joels father. especially since this entire events "concept" is about two creatures that take the forms of others, ones a whopperflower, and the other is still out there, then suddenly joels dad, who is heavily presumed dead suddenly magically appears is super SUPER suspicious.
this could go a few ways. 1) it becomes wholesome, as albedo's clone devotes himself to actually being a good father as it no longer has competition, 2) this is genuinely joels father, and the third albedo is still out there, as we have no real evidence it can shapeshift and we can even see it looming overhead of the real albedo in the mountains.
my third theory: 3) the real albedo is the "fake" third albedo. so, through the entire story we hear about two albedos, how the geo albedo thinks the ice albedo is the other albedo, but turns out it is just an experimented whopperflower disguised as albedo. at the end, albedo talks about a story how theres a third albedo, and states prior how "if he was in its situation he would have wanted to murder the real albedo too" and lastly, albedo shows that his crest might not be genuine disguised like its an elaborate prank.
my third crazy theory is the REAL REAL albedo is currently with the creator of the two albedos, and the albedo we know secludes himself alone in dragonspine avoiding people researching alchemy specifically because he's the failed clone. joel was a misdirection making you believe the fake albedo just disguised himself as joel's father, when in reality we became close with the fake albedo all along, and thats why he seems sad during the whole ordeal, not because something is after his life, but because he can sympathize with its goals. and it also explains why "if he ever goes berserk he asks to kill him" as he is the failed clone, and if his desire to become the REAL albedo becomes too much, he wants us to stop him.
Part of me believes the inspiration for this, as masterfully as it turned out, was born from the EN voice actors playing Among Us with each other, especially that one game where Imposter Childe gets Crew Member Albedo framed and kicked off the ship.
There is still a sussus amogus on Dragonspine, folks. Don't let your guard down.
My head canon rn is albedo went to talk with durin personally and became friend then ask him to be Albedo in Mondstandt while the Albedo stay in dragonspire doing what he like and Joel father? Definitly flower if you ask reason? IDK I don't think Albedo is that type of guy
Yeah… I knew the Albedo from the city was subject 2. He sounds way more rude than the original. I also felt that Joel's dad was a fake. I just forgot that the impostor spent time with the kid (to gather intel for the copy). Poor kid…
My theory is that the Albedo we meet at Timmeus' is the real one, and is just messing with the traveler. Subject Two doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor. On the other hand, I do think Subject Two transformed into Josef, and is still alive.
Ok, let's think about Joel's "father", he is a human , he could not survive in the conditions he was in, and it's suspicious that we found him just when all this happened and we didn't find him before. The truth is, it makes sense that he's a fake, and let's remember that surely the fake one didn't know anything about the life of Joel's father, the fact that he had a son, that he had a job, etc. The excuse that he hit his head and no longer remembers anything is a very clever thing and something anyone could believe.
Fr tho this damn story made my trust issues wayyy worse

great quest and story
boring ass character
I'm gonna be honest, it's more likely Joel's father died and been replaced then him just coming back from dragonspine out of nowhere
You know, I have a feeling we may have interacted with subject two in the past as well.
I do not think Joel's dad is gone gone.
I think Pallad in the end is also fake. No way dude just suddenly became helpful.

This event was great but also gave me even more trust issues.
THIS IS WHAT I WAS THINKING
gardener = field tiller = kanriah hints.
errrr
I DONT TRUST ANYONE ANYMORE
I wish the person that wrote this quest also made the archon quest for inazuma ANDDDD sumer CUZ THIS WAS ONE HEELLAROLLERCOASTER
Two of them are imposters actually
It's the real Albedo. That last part is supposed to show his growth as a human. Meanwhile Joel's father who we know for sure is dead due to his notes we find, suddenly appears hardly worse for wear and conveniently amnesiatic.
this hella dark. i knew something was odd with joel's father but hopefully not

Albedo: why you do that?
Fake Joel's dad: i just want make this boy happy
I saw his dad dying
Please don't
omg does that mean we can get three albedo re-runs just like childe!?!??!1?1?!?!!?1?
This quest literally took my last 2 braincells
Who the imposter in the sea of Albedo?
The fake Albedo smiling Alotttt my heart cant handle it T.T
Sus Joel's father, Sus Albedo, Sassy Paimon… Everyone is a SUS!
This quest giving everyone trust issues I see xD

Oh, man. I knew something was off about reckless Pallad and Joel's father, but I wanted to believe Mihoyo is not that heartless.
Say it with me everyone…
" WHAT A TWIST!! "
I thought there was only me thinking about how Joserf was straight sus during work..
I think we going to see more about cloning in the Sumeru storyline
Yeah… I knew the Albedo from the city was subject 2. He sounds way more rude than the original.
I also felt that Joel's dad was a fake. I just forgot that the impostor spent time with the kid (to gather intel for the copy).
Poor kid…
This quest was so confusing and didn't give us a straight answer who is who at the end and I love it. 😊
Liyue : Contract
Inazuma : Eternity
Mondstadt : Freed… Susdom
I like the theory that says subject 2 became Joel's father
That would be a win for everyone if the real Joserf is really dead
EVERYONE IS SUS
