WHYYYY
My MOTHER!! Damn that got me.
I was also confused how paimon knew his rank and my exact words were “how? Did she read it? What?”
LONG RANT WITH SPOILERS ABT KAZUHA SQ (Story Quest), EI SQ 1 & 2 + INAZUMA AQ (Archon Quest)
I think the "worthlessness" that plagued Scaramouche in the past is the core of the trauma he tries hard to overcompensate for; the fact that things all go wrong and that he can't do anything to bring back time or be "enough" for a fuck up not to happen.
This brings me back to the Yae and Scaramouche meeting back in Inazuma, we know enough to know that they interacted but not exactly the full story which helps us keep looking forward for what they talked about.
I think this is the case with Scaramouche's past being revealed too.
If I were to speculate, it would be the third betrayal being the straw breaking the camel's back not in a "this kid betrayed me by not fulfilling his promise to stay with me and I don't have the mental maturity to properly grieve" but in a "I knew this kid was always going to die and even if I did all I could, it wasn't enough. I don't have the mental maturity to properly grieve".
This makes me look forward to seeing what exactly happened in his past- with Scara's past outfit color scheme, I bet that the lore theorists' like Aster and Ashikai that speculated Scara being a product of Ei grieving Makoto is something to point out too.
I just know Scaramouche, made after the remnants of Makoto, broke Ei and made her relive her own worthlessness of having all the strength in the world but not having anything to show for it as the ones precious to her died (Pre-AQ Ei is immature AF. Her ruminating on the losses and taking it personally, Makoto's death is the "nail in the coffin" of the thought of Makoto's ideal as an imperfect ideal that only would get the Celestia consider nailing them.)
Which leads me to speculating that Ei ditched Scaramouche not just because of his "weakness" but because of him not fitting her ideal of Eternity; or rather, the enforcer of "Eternity" should be the complete opposite of Makoto's "Eternity" because what is strength and martial prowess to an Electro Arvhon if she rules over a barren land?
The meaning of Eternity is a central theme of Ei's story as a whole. Her meeting with Makoto within her dream scape is what taught her that Eternity is a cyclical, not stasis, order that embraces the change in everything.
Just as seasons change, people live their lives or food tastes evolve, Makoto tells Ei to accept the eternal state of the world that is eternal change, giving Ei the closure and add up to that the AQ and prior SQ, she has enough maturity to move on from her "worthlessness" from that time, accepting the past deaths not because of her lacking in strength to challenge fate but as motivation to move forward for their sakes, living as if Ei wanted them to look.
Enter Scaramouche who had none of that and his foil, Kaedehara Kazuha.
Dealing with loss in different ways, Kazuha stuck to the fact that Tomo died in the duel, maturely never blamed anyone else and instead resolved himself to end the Vision Hunt Decree not out of spite but because of unbridled resolve for a future for Inazuma that he wants due to his dissatisfaction of the situation.
Kazuha, as far as I know, has yet to get answers from Ei (he asked this in Inazuma pre-AQ) about Eternity, what exactly it is to her and stuff.
Besides Ayato, Kazuha is the prime individual to find out about Scaramouche. That and he isn't bound to any place and is a wanderer himself.
Once they meet, Scara being reminded of Katsuragi and Kazuha sensing his ties to Shogun is what would draw them to know about each other.
Kazuha, besides Nahida, is the one to teach to Scara that moving on doesn't mean taking the past for granted, it only means that you carry the burden of said past better with time, that everything is bound to eternal change in a sense that would help Scara not to internalize the "worthlessness" he felt in the past.
And that Scara should live as if he's telling Katsuragi and the (Tatarasuna?) child to look.
Kazuha's the type of person who would help others heal if his SQ wasn't THAT big of a flag. Just replace Kagotsurube Isshin with Scaramouche and BAM, exquisite character development that doesn't feel forced.
As a KazuScara shipper who used to feast on crumbs of KazuScara Drifting Bottle theories, "started from the bottom, now we here" 😭
Setting those aside, I look forward to how Scaramouche having dreams being related to LLK/GLR (Lesser Lord Kusanali/Greater Lord Rukkhadevata) will play out in the story.
Also, I have copium for 2.8 being Scaramouche's therapist group. Kazuha therapist arc?
Nahida shutting down parasocial relationships with her weed magic was neat. RIP budget Sucrose and it is a good thing there is probably a whole warehouse full of extra Katherynes.
I think when his friend died he didn't even felt it as betrayal back then but since he now lost every human emotion this is the only way how he can describe it as.
NGL I can see why Tighnari wanted to keep Haypasia away from Gandharva Ville. Collei already has Cyno's jokes and a life threatening Eleazar to deal with.
She doesn't need to have Haypasia do their monologue and steal what little was left of her poor sanity and mental stability 👍
I’ve always disliked scaramouche just because a lot of his fans are annoying and a little cringe but now I’m really beginning to like the character. So many terrible things happened to him and it’s hard not to feel sorry for him. It’s also hard to forgive him for all the horrific things he’s done. I’m looking forward very much to next patch to see how his character develops.
The little aster avatar at the bottom of the screen just going “:D” the entire time a sh1tshow is taking place in the background is so hilarious to me
I'm sorry, but I will use this place as some kind of forum post because I want to say it but don't know where, and if it wasn't for your videos I probably would not know anything about lore, and you literally make this game better for me to enjoy. And I just want to share a moment with someone here.
So after this archon quest I had a dream where it was genshin (I sometimes have dreams about games, movies etc.) where we were fighting Scaramouche kind of like with Signora's duel before the throne, where we ultimately beat him leaving him to basically die, here comes my OC that is actually very similar to Scaramouche as I got to know now as he is too artificial life form who got rejected by his own family the biggest difference is probably that he is complete opposite in terms of feelings, as Scaramouche has human feelings but doesn't understand them, he understands them but doesn't have any feelings at all. So what he did was taking dying Scaramouche and wander thought the darkness with him, because he is fascinated with him, someone being so alike to him yet so distant, he wanted to know more, and I know I said he can't feel any feelings, this was his first time of having that small spark of compassion. After they ended the walk, he said that before he dies he needs to meet someone, and as he said this, the darkness has vanished, revealing Tenshukaku before them. He wanted him to reunite with his mother just like Makoto reunited with Ei before she left forever. I don't remember much from what happened (it was a dream after all) but I remember Scaramouche running towards Ei and them both hugging in tears and sharing a moment.
Then after I woke up (apparently in tears) I just imagined Scaramouche just returning to Inazuma and living ordinary life, just like everyone, among his family.
I don't know, I have a weird feeling that he will die, like Signora, I know there is not that much confirming this, but I just have that weird feeling that he will die, and I really hope this is baseless and won't be true.
(I just realized that may be my most detailed dream I ever had, altho I forgot most of it by now already, sadly…)
And I thought we were the simps
I have the impression that the Traveler is the representation of the Tarot card of the Fool but Scaramouche is the Reverse Fool.
“The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.” -African Proverb
Yae Miko once chanllenged Ei to make a Sakura mochi. And Ei forgot to add sugar
I just really don't understand how scaramouche rejoined the fatui after going rogue after getting the inazuman gnosis
Scaramouche is the in-game equivalent of livestream Heizou that comes back unexpectedly everytime.
Haypasia, while looking at Scaramouche: I can fix him.
6:05 lol my brother and I were laughing our asses of for the same reason while doing the quest.
Just goes to show that Paimon ability to break the 4th wall 🤣
so when we gonna fight Scaramoche in the Gundam?
The electro element would have been great here to save kateryne
3.1 really was Information overload lol
Scaramouche lore
Scara boss
Nahida being locked up
Dottore appearance
Nahida being shrunk version of Rhukka
Scarlet Kings civilization downfall
I wish Tighnari had or will have a bigger involvement with the main story
21:51 i think the guy there was kazuhas great grandfather or whatever, he has kazuha's red streak and he's a swordsmith
i actually give props to hoyo for splitting the archon quest to atleast 3parts and not rushing it
Dottore is Harbinger No. 2 🤯
Wait wait wait….. so we may have to fight 2 harbingers depending on how this goes 😵💫😵
The ending… does this mean Scara is part of Dottore's experiment in blasphemy??
right when i watched scaramouche's backstory, and he said "blank slate. …ready to receive gnosis…" i was guessing he's receiving some kind divine power from irminsul. that's why he's connected to haypasia's meditations. i knew it.
but, it's just a shame that we had to learn his backstory through NPC, though this one NPC has been significant to our journey, i still feel disappointed. i wish we got a separate quest, like raiden shogun's story quest or something. but since this one is connected to the archon quest, it's kinda fine.
despite all of that, kudos to the writers. such plot was so unexpected. how many of us guessed that akademiya have been creating their own god? and not to mention, it's scaramouche. Hoyo really caught me off guard.
Fuck Scaramouche, all the homies hate the guy !
Scara and mercy shouldn't be in the same sentence. Unless stating that "mercy is not something you receive from him. " or he is merciless"
paimon knew about the harbingers because we asked childe about them
Wait! Was that what the devinecion from that girl about our love life was really about?? Not our little harem, but all these people effected by Il Dottore ?
Lol bad
So…you were KINDA right AND wrong about Scaramouche's role in this story?
Umm…WOW. Just…Sumeru is INSANELY well-written.
Probably paimon found a pamflet in the Northland bank. The pamflet is like :
"HELLO, LETS MEET OUR LOVELY 11 HARBINGERS"
1st – Pierro
2nd – Il Dottore
3rd – Sandrone
And more…

I got confused who's the other girl talking(just realized it's the owner of this channel)
