The game features an open-world map, which the player explores by walking, climbing, swimming and gliding as necessary. Many objects and places of significance are spread throughout the map. Players can control up to four of their characters at any one time. By completing quests to advance the story, the player is able to unlock a total of 30 playable characters.

Each character has two unique combat skills: a normal and a special skill. The normal skill can be used at any time except for the cooldown period immediately after use, while the special skill has an energy cost, requiring the user to amass sufficient elemental energy first.

Cooking is another significant aspect of Genshin Impact’s gameplay. Players gather many resources in the course of their adventure, some of which can be turned into dishes via cooking. Some dishes regenerate characters’ health, while others boost attack or defensive abilities.

  29. So…there's this girl who was asking for people who had Xiao to friend them….
    Well it just so happens that I have Xiao…so I friended them…
    And a few minutes later she messages me, fangirling, asking how my day was, saying that their day was GREAT because I have Xiao….

    And well, I ended up joining their world, switching to Xiao, and they just started FANGIRLING/SIMPING SO FREAKING HARD like, it was insane….
    Like, I'm a Xiao simp too, I'm not that bad. Hell, I'm not even that bad when it comes to Venti and I have a freaking throw pillow of him, went insane after not getting him during his re-run, have FOUR OR FIVE playlists of him most with absurd amounts of videos…the list goes on…and I went from never even playing in co-op and being too shy to talk to people on there to suddenly being the target of this person's fangirling…
    So after I left I made a second party just for them which was essentially the same as my normal party except Xiao is the first character followed by Venti and if I ever go into her world I'll switch to that party so that I always enter the world as Xiao….
    But it didn't actually end there…
    Because the next time I went to her world there was another girl there. And this girl…WAS ALSO A XIAO SIMP! And possibly even WORSE like, they had me do a solo commission (at one point one of them actually said that they felt kind of bad making Xiao do everything alone to which I said that it was more lore accurate) and I used Xiao's burst….oh lord…

    I kid you not, that's literally what they said…
    And after I completed the mission the new girl literally said "Xiao marry me!" ….to which I replied"okay then…" you know, like, "well that just happened" but she took that as me accepting her proposal….
    So then I essentially said that the awkward thing is…is that I'm a girl irl. And this girl just said "doesn't matter, we're still married" and proceeded to call me Wifey 2 from then on…with the other girl being Wifey 1…so yeah, I essentially became someone's wife in co-op and now I've just relented and started helping them with events and unlocking chests and stuff since they're too lazy and I've already done it all plus I'm more experienced….
