  1. Yeah, I figured the way they explained it in the book was horribly off. It's essentially a sudoku box where all the numbers have to be different, but one of the lines says that the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal had to add up to all be the same, which is just…not right. They don't add up to be the same at all.

  2. Honestly I sincerly hope that whoever designed this puzzle gets reprimanded back at Mihoyo, its presented in such a poor way and the explanation is so vague, its maddening
Edit: and all of that for an Exquisite chest…

  3. When you come back in a few minutes, the puzzle will change again. The solution to the next puzzle is:

I will use the compass direction.
    North-west box = facing west
    Middle-east box = facing south
    Middle box = facing north
    Middle-south box = facing north

  4. So each direction is a number N-1 E-2 S-3 W-4 and with the stone nob on top it is the same but it's N-5 E-6 S-7 W-8, and the spot with no number is 9 and from there you do sudoku.

  5. So it's sudoku? I've never played sudoku in my entire life nor do I have any idea how to play it… and the way it describes it, "the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal had to add up to all be the same" made me think it was the magic square puzzle.

I don't know if this was an issue on Mihoyo's part or if it was an accident at the translation level but I sincerely hope that they NEVER try to put math puzzles into the game again because it clearly isn't comfortable or fun for players at all.

…and yeah that reward is trash, would've been a more efficient usage of time to just skip this stupid mess.

(Edit); So maybe each of the four directions represents the numbers 5,6,7,8 which makes me think that it actually IS the magic square puzzle (a puzzle where each line equals the same sum) but after wasting 2hrs of my life I kinda just wanna die so I don't have the energy to plug it in right now so maybe someone else can?

  6. finally understood how it works and it pisses me off:

The direction when walking up the stairs is north. From there, cubes with no cap on them are labeled 1,2,3,4 facing north, east, south, west respectively.

those with a cap are labeled 5,6,7,8 – again north, east, south, west.

the blank area is considered a 9

the objective is to get a horizontal, diagonal and vertical of value 15 every time.

wasted my time trying to figure it out the first time because i misjudged north

    puzzle 1:

    4 | 3 | 8

    9 | 5 | 1

    2 | 7 | 6

    puzzle 2:

    4 | 9 | 2

    3 | 5 | 7

    8 | 1 | 6

    puzzle 3:

    2 | 7 | 6

    9 | 5 | 1

    4 | 3 | 8

    mihoyo give clearer instructions pls

edit: almost forgot to thank thEXP and Vmee for making it easier for me to understand
