  1. I'd personally rate it as;

9/10 Zzz: Motions is perfect. it looks like an animation of a real human walking. Point deduction for clipping going up the stairs but looks perfect going down.

8/10 GI: The motion is there, and you can see that effort was put in it. However, it doesn’t look as natural as Zzzs. More like they are marching up the stairs rather than walking. They also have the same chipping problem.

5/10 WW: Very unnatural walking up the stairs. The movement from the top half of their body and bottom half looks very disjointed, almost like its on of the last few things they decided to animate, and it was lazily done. It also has the same clipping issue as well as the marching look issue to it as well.

0/10 HSR: bruh, I love HSR, but even I'll admit that that wasn't walking up the stairs. It's just the characters walking while gliding up a slope.

  2. WuWa has horrible stair animation. The backs are the exact same as walking on a flat surface even though people normally lean forwards or arch their backs while going up stairs. And who when going up stairs raises their legs up SOOO high your thighs allign with your waist???? They could've just done what Genshin did and it would've looked better. Like wow you added this for stairs but your game runs like shit on the first day, real quality work. (I don't play genshin I play HSR)

  3. Genshin is the best actually. Whether you go downstairs or upstairs, your upper body won't stay upright (like shown in WuWa clearly).

You will lean your upper body forward when going upstairs, and slightly slouch when going downstairs.

  4. I like wuwa on other aspect and wuwa is my main game currently, but to be fair genshin have more better posture if about walk on stairs or sloppy terrain, like their body will lean front if walking up and lean a bit back if walk down, wuwa have better accuracy on stairs but their body still stiff like having same posture when they walking straight, only their head are looking up and down similiar as zzz. but zzz have similiar posture with genshin if your character walk on sloppy terrain, you can test it on brant street construction area since there is sloppy terrain support in there.

for hsr on basic animation such walking or running was disappointment for me, I mean you walking a lot in hsr and they have a good area and place to wandering or to explore and somehow have much stairs on it so at least make the walking more appealing, they only have IK feet when you in idle state, and this just about the basic things not the other things

  5. Not a single one is good, the only one that actually looks like they're raising their legs to step on the next one is Genshin and there it can't decide if the character is floating or if it's clipping -.-

Not a single one has normal steps, like why are they all so wide? long? of course it looks weird, is like the feet are snapped into the next one.

When it comes to clipping WuWa has the best one, when it comes to movement, ZZZ and Genshin are almost tied, and HSR is the worst at everything.

Try making a regular speed one and try to add going downstairs on the others not only ZZZ.

  6. between the 4 i think ZZZ is the worst. while going up it feels like they're somewhat moonwalking forward. and they're feet does go through the stairs. as for going down it feels like they're walking on an invisible stair and you can clearly see them skipping steps.

  7. Unreal Engine 4 walking. In Dragon Raja and Noah's heart, made on UE4, feet stick to objects in the same way.

    GI, HSR, ZZZ – Unity.

In gi, the character literally hovers over the stairs, and this is considered normal, lol

  8. IK on the legs interacting with the stair objects. It's difficult to match the rhythm of the animation cycle and how high the steps are if the animation is done manually especially the speed of the stair climbing cycle animation. The character movement is done on the engine they basically animate the character walk and run cycles in place so a lot of back and forth or a lot of tuning for the one implementing the animation to the engine to make the running animation perfect and to not see the character kinda ice skating on the stairs or ground when the walk and other movement animation plays.

  9. for me,
genshin 8/10 (realistic bouncy although his/her feet sometimes not touch the step😂)
hsr 3/10😂(no stair special animation I guess)
    wuwa 6/10 (too stiff)
zzz 9/10 (good but not perfect)

  10. I still like Genshin Impact because of how interesting the story is although Wu wa is starting to get interesting too

Also I can’t get into Honkai starrail story and I tried zzz but still not that interesting 😅

  11. The comment section is full with Hoyo and Wuwa games players that are argue with each other about stairs animation 😭😭
I dont think such details is a need to be looking at, if you want em to add these details our storage probably can't afford all these

  12. wuwa's doesn't look better than genshin's, genshin characters lean forward to maintain balance when climbing the stairs which makes it 8/10 for me. wuwa characters' feet pass through the stairs as well when going up and their limb proportions don't look right which makes it 6/10 for me

  13. The problem with the stair animations for a lot of games is that the characters’ upper bodies move as if the characters were walking on a flat surface. In reality, there’s quite a bit of bouncing of the upper body.

  14. Nice comparison lol never expected to see something like this. And it's funny how some people are actually taking it seriously and fighting over it. It's not going to affect your gameplay guys let's not fight over something like this.
