“Chronicled Wish will appear in the next filler update” — that’s what everyone, including me, thought. But when the 4.7 banners were announced, there was no mention of Chronicled Wish. In this video, let’s discuss when the next Chronicled Wish might be released and which characters might be featured.

Chronicled Wish was introduced in a filler update that didn’t include a new map or Archon quest.

Because of this, many players assumed that future reruns of characters in Chronicled Wish would occur during filler updates, typically in the x.5 and x.7 patches. However, the recent special program did not mention Chronicled Wish at all.

Most players, myself included, anticipated that Chronicled Wish would appear in 4.7 with characters from Liyue. There were several reasons for this expectation: 4.7 is a filler update; many Liyue characters meet the criteria for Chronicled Wish; and the main event in 4.7 is said to take place in Liyue. Remember, the main event in 4.5 was in Mondstadt, so the 4.5 Chronicled Wish featured many Mondstadt characters.

Since Chronicled Wish was not included in 4.7, it appears that a patch doesn’t need to be a filler update for Chronicled Wish to appear. This implies that Chronicled Wish could be included in any patch, depending on Hoyoverse’s plans.

So, when might we see the next Chronicled Wish?

The most logical answer is 4.8. This patch will be a summer event and the last one before the Natlan release. Developers will likely want to rerun as many characters as possible before the new region arrives, as players will be more interested in new characters once Natlan is released. This is the ideal scenario. Another possibility is that Chronicled Wish might follow a similar frequency to other character reruns, appearing twice per region or only once. If we don’t see it in 4.8, it might show up in 5.5, since early patches in a new region will focus on new characters.

Which characters might be featured in the next Chronicled Wish?

Liyue characters are the most logical choice since many of them meet the criteria, including standard characters that could affect your 50/50 odds. The rules state that limited characters must have appeared in three banners and not have rerun in recent patches. Likely candidates are Yelan, Hu Tao, Ganyu, and Zhongli. Venti did not appear in the 4.5 Chronicled Wish likely because he had a rerun in 4.1, just four patches earlier. By this logic, Zhongli might be included in the 4.8 Chronicled Wish. Xiao, having rerun in 4.4, might be considered too recent. We will probably see three limited and three standard characters, as in 4.5. Liyue has two standard characters, Qiqi and Keqing, who could be included along with possibly Tighnari or Dehya.
