Focalors, the God of Justice is the current Hydro Archon among The Seven and presides over Fontaine. But she is not one of the original members of The Seven who emerged after the end of the Archon War. if you read the description of the hydro gemstone, you’ll feel that hydro archon sounds somewhat sniffy. According to dainsleif, the God of Justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods. Which might indicate that she doesn’t get along with the other archons. During the cataclysm, the previous hydro archon was killed, and Focalors was instated in her place as the Hydro Archon sometime afterward. The Lochfolk or the oceanids, did not recognize Focalors as the new Hydro Archon, and after discovering that the original hydro archon was killed, promptly cut all ties with Fontaine. Liben, a NPC from fontaine states that the present Fontaine is quite dangerous and oppressive in nature. Locals have been described to be antsy, believing that some type of judgment is soon to come. So the question is, How is a region known for justice and ruled by the god of justice, became so dangerous. Is it because of focalors? if not then Why did the oceanids chose not to follow focalors and left fontaine entirely?
According to leaks, Fontaine’s main plot will heavily revolve around political and social themes, focusing majorly on the contradictions between upper and lower classes, as well as the sizeable wealth gap. Fontaine has two factions, faction of light and faction of desolation or darkness. As we all know, inazuma also has two factions, one which follows raiden shogun and the other which follows kokomi.
Both the factions in fontaine are also run by two female characters said to be playable in the future. While the Light faction is led by Yuelyn who is said to have Geo vision, the Darkness faction is run by Soutine. Rumor has it that Yuelin is the previous Archon of Fontaine, but we all know that she died after the end of the war. So we don’t really know who she actually is. As for soutine, she is rumored to be the hydro archon focalors. We all know that the archons have many names. Like zhongli also goes by the names morax or rex lapis. Soutine is expected to be the casual name of focalors, but it’s not confirmed. Focalors probably wears a fake vision, just like zhongli and venti. It is currently unknown what the aspect or the role of the other hydro archon is, or even if she is an archon. However, it might be the same case as greater lord and lesser lord archons in sumeru, but in a different aspect.
Remember that these informations are based on leaks and rumors, and it might change in the future, so you’re advised to take it with a grain of salt. But one thing is certain, that fontaine’s storyline will be very different and interesting than the other regions.
Focalors might be a bad archon, or not. Since she represents the dark faction, there’s a high chance that we will have to fight against her. I mean , Hydro archon have a good point … I personally think almost every archon is an asshole who dont care about their own people … They dont act like a gods but they want to be threatened like ones, also their crimes are in the same level as WW2 germany , but instead killing they curse innocent people into mindless creatures that cant die … ( also raiden is like double hitler cuz she even dont care about her own people ) . I wish that later in the story there will come some character and beat the shit out of archons and teach them a lesson that with great power comes great responsibility .
