Truth Behind Delusions | Genshin Impact Theory

What is a Delusion and why did the Fatui create them?
What is stronger? Vision or Delusion?
What does Childe have to do with the Abyss and the Abyss Herald?

What is the origins of Delusions and Childe’s powers?

In this video, I will speculate and theorize Tsaritsa’s plans with Delusions.
Inside the story of the game and the Genshin Impact manga,
we are given a lot of hints about the dark powers of the Fatui,
especially regarding Collei and the Archon Residue.

Seriously… why does Mihoyo always gives us more questions than answers…

Welcome to Genshin Impact Theory.

  1. Shouldn't Childe have a Delusion separate from his Vision? Notice when he changes his appearance in the second phase of the boss fight his Vision changes color and symbol to electro.

  2. This "archon energy" reminds me a lot of honkai energy except a lot weaker, likely because they're the same thing except the archon energy is less pure. Even the story about injecting said archon energy is just like in honkai impact where, in Babylon labs, the researchers would inject honkai energy into young girls, like Sirin who ended up becoming the Herrscher of the Void, and also looks almost exactly like the unknown goddess we in the beginning of the game and even has similar powers.

  3. A really nice theory. Thinking about the archon residue.. perhaps it's just.. whats left of archons after they fail, fall away or die. The archon seemingly only remains so while, mandate of heaven style they value their people more than then own lives. Perhaps, the residue is the resentment and hatred left over from those who fell or passed, inherently a poison or hatred of humanity. (fitting with the smoky image of a serpent.)

Hatred itself bringing a measure of resistance to the poison, being in sync with it. When you become complacent, happy with the status quo then it runs its course. residue, what is left over.. what remains. I don't think it means of those who fell in battle, the god of salt was slain by her people while she still cared only for them. There was no poison or darkness there, only a sad legacy. But, what of the archons who lost their way, turned on celestia or lost the will to embody the path they represent. if Human's can become monsters, and wisps can become archons, the whole setting has a theme of metamorphosis what can those who were touched by a gnosis turn into?

Inazuma seems to be dealing with the affects of forcibly removing visions and passion from people and how it leaves them passionless and forgetful. Perhaps archon residue is what happens when an archons purpose spoils over time or rots. Love for their people turning to hate, hate of celestia and of their fate.

  4. I like how it’s mentioned that delusions and visions are opposites.
“Delusion” is, in fact, the opposite of “vision,” with ‘delusion’ being tied to lies and ‘vision’ (generally) being tied to truth.

  5. Diluc has a vision and a delusion too, but I'm going to assume that was unknown in this video and give a pass to "The only known person who currently possesses a vision and a delusion" EDIT: NEVERMIND YOU'VE SEEN THE DILUC AND HIS FATHER THING SORRY

  6. So….Childe should have been 1. stronger 2. a late game boss. He literally has 3 sources of power sooo I dunno how stronger can the other harbingers be. (Maybe the jester because he is immortal) Maybe he is kind of weak because he is young and doesn't know how to really use his powers?? So by sparring with him, he gets stronger and is gonna be a late game boss too

  7. diluc used a delusion but he didnt use its full potential so it wasnt enough to backfire him. Childe otherwise in phase 2 he only uses a part of the power of the delusion so he was fine but when he entered phase 3 and used his foul legacy transformation and its was too much for his body.

  8. 2:09. To be fair, venti isn't that strong as archons strength is determined by how many worshipers they have. And cause venti doesn't make his nation worship him and let them do whatever they want, he's relatively weak compared to other archons. You sure didn't see Signora trying that shit with zhongli lmao he would've pancaked her

  9. Hear me out, Rhinedottir who was albedo master, probably found the Gnosis of the old dendro archon, and the reason they disappeared was to craft the Delusions for the fatui.

  10. What i think is:
Delusions are elemental control that are made and given by people.
Visions are given bu the gods and is inherited by will, dedication and experience

  11. Now that more about Vision and Delusion is a bit explained in game (the forced removal of vision in ayaka's quest, and the upcoming story of la signora, and perhaps the matter of Fatui in Tatarigami), i hope you will continue to take on this topic.
By the way, i'm very intrigued about Diluc's father. Since Delusion is not only much stronger, have a potential backfire to the point can only be used by the Harbingers, why is someone like Crepus manage to get it? Did the Dawn Winery had a deal with Tsarisa to the extent of them giving such power to the supposedly former 'uncrowned king' of Mondstat? The Fatui, while not diplomatically hostile to Mondstat, isnt friendly either.
Thanks for your theory as always

  13. Cant believe I just got to see this video, Im subscribed to almost every Genshin youtuber, so Im surprised I didnt have yours, Now I am subscribed lol. Excellent theory and btw judging by the mistgrass scent, it smells like that because they are burning or in other words consuming those good feelings from the users heart or at least that is what comes to my mind.

So I dont find it contradictory but instead makes sense, like when you burn something, the air gets somewhat part of that scent and judging by your theory since Delusions harnest the power of vengeance and such is only natural for these to burn the good will and emotions from a user and thus backfiring once they cannot convey this on a user and burning their good memories, just like visions seem to erase the memories of those who lose them.

Now the question is why some people who lost their visions are able to remember everything, does it take strong conviction or is there something else we are missing maybe.

  14. 🌸😹I would say that it is important to point out at 2:06 that Venti had been weakened by is eons off indirect governance as an Archon and he was not anywhere near his true power during the encounter with La Signora. I mean to say that particular encounter is not a decent reference I would say note the difference betwixt the superiority of Delusions over Visions (though I agree Delusions are Superior).😹🌸

  15. My guess to your final question of what would happen if a Delusion is completed and “pure”.
Well, to be honest, this guess is more like of a theory, but whatever.

In the world of Teyvat, we craft materials using Alchemy tables, correct?
And there are Vision users who also uses alchemy (using Albedo for example and Sucrose since she is an apprentice). Where do i go with this?
I think that Delusions are human-made recreation of Visions, made out with pure elemental energy, taken by the various slimes. The alchemists from Snezhnaya are recruited by the Tsaritsa with this task, because she is MAYBE a representative of power and the hunger for it.
As for that wether or not she is capable of giving visions (which she is capable of obviously, because she is an Archon) she assigns them nonetheless.

As for the drawback from Delusions, i have my speculations.
Since i believe that they are human-made weapons, using alchemy, they could take soul energy depending on how strong a emotion and desire are in a person. And just maybe that’s the very reason why Delusions are stronger than Vision.
Visions are technically a manifestation of one’s ambition and motivation, while Delusions are weapons using Desire and Emotions as their battery charges. To me, this makes sense for the reason why Crepus died after using his Delusion.

  16. Do yall realize how delusions are the opposite of visions? Electro triggers hydro, and pyro triggers cryo childe has an electro delusion with hydro vision, and signora (in the boss fight) has a delusion and its pyro. So if scaramouche has elecro vision dosent that mean he will get a cryo delusion? I think the tsaritsa gave delusions that trigger the vision so the harbinger will become more and more powerful. Think about it. Lets say you're fighting a slime and ths harbringer has the same element. If they attack it, the slime is immune. But if they use something that triggers them(electro on hydro slime, pyro on cryo slime, cryo on electro slime, and so on). The slime dies. This way, the tsaritsa is making her harbingers able to kill everything.
