For today’s video, I wanted to talk about the five things that Genshin needs (among like… a billion) that would greatly improve the gameplay experience for both new and veteran players alike! A bit of a fun discussion this time around so I hope you enjoy 😀

I think Hoyo feels too comfortable to change their ways atm, they need strong competition to give them a good wake-up call and force them to improve.
One thing that baffles me is MHY seems to think building your characters is part of the core gameplay loop, when most games, the fun starts when your character is functional. In Honkai you can achieve that within minutes of getting a new valk, and delve into whatever content you choose for them. In genshin, you spend weeks getting your character functional, only to do dailies or and event. (Map exp if you’re lucky)
They certainly could add raids or multiplayer content that could reward the afformentioned artifact rerolls and it’d fix so much of the game.
2:09 what is the game's name?
I really hope Tower of Fantasy to be released soon. Someone needs to do the waking the fck up of Hoyoverse's ass. Hmmm… what if players do the Anniversary incident again but this time, complaining about the content.
What rly annoys me is that mihoyo sends out surveys but never listens to our problems. Theyll probably only listen to whales if money becomes an issue
I started playing late january, I have already hit end game and there's not much to do, that being said farming for artifacts seems like an impossible feat, I've also run into a weird issue where I never have enough loose artifacts to upgrade an artifact to a usable level. And I haven't pulled any recent character because it takes too long to raise them when I'm still trying to get artifacts for older characters. Even though genshin realses character at a slow rate (which I like), it's very telling how bad the system is for getting materials and artifacts when players can't reasonably farm a set or raise a character in that time.
I had a lot of fun when I first started playing but now it's just frustrating. Even if I raise characters and farm good artifacts what good are they with no end game to use them on, I personally dislike the abyss and would like to see something different.
Itto is my favorite character and he's the only character I think I have enough materials to fully raise, but once i get the only character I really want, will I still have a reason to keep playing? I still struggle to wrap my head around why mihoyo has things set up this way.
What?? No mention of official android controller support??
I think the most logical thing that these features are being held out by hoyoverse is to keep each update more interesting
Almost all of the features here are already in Honkai impact and those features didn't come out in 1 update
We waited for 4 years for those features to get fleshed out
So I sincerely believe that the Genshin devs are aware and aren't doing nothing to these problems
Sidenote
The Genshin devs maybe are just not doing anything and everything could be just 1 massive hopium bubble
Also Hoyoverse's favorite child is still Honkai Impact like for real
Honkai got an animated short for their Winter event
Genshin only got an art piece
I've been complaining about the no targeting feature since I started playing.
Swear to God. If diluc attacks the fucking bat instead of the near dead cicin mage again, I'm gonna scream
Also for the open world, they should start adding harder enemies to every area, and add an optional world level increase just called abyss, and it makes enemies as strong as they are in abyss 12. Buff some enemies. The husks shouldn't be CC'able and slow, bc wow they are a joke, either speed them up, make them heavier or do both. I'd love more than 1 spot in the game to use my stuff in.
I still remember the time I got 5 star attack artifact with crit rate, crit damage, and attack for substats. I leveled it up to 4, it gained a defense substat. No problem, right?…problem because every single time it leveled up a substat, it leveled up defense. I think it was pale flame or something, but I'm still salty because that was literally the best artifact I've gotten and it got trashed because bad luck. Honestly, the artifact system is too frustrating and not worth the headache to farm a lot of the time. Maybe if they gave the option to give it two artifacts of the same rarity to choose your substat, that would be better, but as it is now is just frustrating
Honkai lets players turn off certain skills, but Genshin doesn't want you be able to turn off the Pyro archon's C6
A lot of things mentioned in the video is actually present in Honkai, maybe the 2 game departments don't talk with each other.
I think Toggling off constalations should be a thing not only because of c6 Bennett
But for content creators to accurately compare units against one another between their c0 and c6 potential
speaking of raid bosses, we actually already had a taste of what raid bosses in genshin could be like, which is azhdaha. It's just he's not that dangerous to consider doing co-op for (raiden, signora and tartaglia move around too much that they feel more like world bosses/elite mobs with fancy titles and exaggerated attacks/boss characters in a linear progression single player game honestly). what they could do is make a domain boss with multiple hp layers and phases with no i-frames so you can't just one shot them and they can't just dodge every attack you throw at them like multiple times in a row (looking at you, signora and raiden) which you can challenge with up to 9 to 11 other players. yes thereotically you still can solo the boss, it's just gonna take much longer than doing co-op (I mean, 4 units vs 10-12 units? that's a no brainers). about the player hp ui, they can just switch them to above player's head.
I saw a (hopefully real) leak online that said “with Genshin impact 2.7 update, players will see the option of the main attribute of choice which will be suggested for every artifact that is chosen by the traveler for their character”
I feel like most of genshins budget went into story and character design genshin by far has one of the most engaging and easy to understand stories while still having a lot of depth to it and sadly that meant game mechanics got thrown to the way side
Based on the history of games mhy made, here are some of my opinions on these changes:
1. Resin – Since Genshin is still "a fairly new" gacha game, they did not implement additional resin yet since it is just that. They did like a bandage fix with the Transient resin in the Serenitea pot and x3 1/2 cost of weekly domains but that's it. Compared to mhy's previous game HI3, it has its energy cap according to the captain's level, sooner or later genshin might have the same thing which increases your resin cap based on world level / adventure level. Also, in HI3, there is actually some sort of daily 2x free energy (which is available based on the time of day labeled as "Mei's Lunch" and "Mei's Dinner") which gives 30 energy each totaling to +60 energy each day and might implement more or less the same like being tied to a commission to get that free resin or such. In GGZ, there is also a free energy system (and upgrade mats) implemented on the daily missions.
2. Artifact RNG – More or less, they wouldn't change a thing with the current artifact system. There are two things they could do to more or less salvage the horrible RNG of the stats being given with the following:
a. Besides the main stat being a not so awful system, the substats are the main problem. One of these days they might have a system where there would be 1-2 "main substats" that are fixed/tied to an artifact and not part of gaining the artifact RNG like for Circlets, if you get a Crit Rate% main stat, there will be a guaranteed Crit Damage% "main substat" tied to it within those 3-4 substats that you might get (but they are still affected by artifact rolling) like in GGZ where equipments will have additional stats such as +atk for weap, +hp for suit and +movement speed for badges the more they are used in battle. But in genshin's system, only the additional stats can only be gotten by leveling the artifact up.
b. There will be an event item where it will guarantee a specific substat to be rolled as a "fill" on something like a 3-substater 5* artifact. In HI3, they already did this with for specific character type to have max stat roll of a specific stat on a stigmata but they are so rare and event limited.
3. Loadouts and Presets – It's only a matter of time they will be added to the game that's for sure.
4. New player experience – The only new player experience that we currently have now is the Adventurer Handbook and the Noelle banner as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully in the future, if they will do the HI3 formula, almost all of the early battlesuits be it A-Rank or S-Rank, they will have a promotional event for new players such as leveling and going through the game's systems and such with what they did to almost all farmable A-Rank/SP battlesuits and the exclusive new player banner for Azure Empreyea and HoT (2 of the most powerful/meta defining characters in HI3 which older players can't access). Also, within the last few months of HI3, the standard banner (Dorm banner for HI3) have been also overhauled by adding more and more older S-Rank battlesuits in versions 4.* and 5.* respectively so you can assume that we will get that Raiden and Keqing within the standard banner.
Other mentions:
1. Shield HP bar and toggleable constellation (skills for HI3) – Surely they will implement the same thing with HI3 but these changes were made within 3 to almost 4 years of HI3. The shield HP bar came around the time Elysian Realm was a thing / HoF was a thing. And the toggleable skills came around an overhaul of one of their end game mode the Infinity Abyss.
2. Invincibility marker – They hopefully will based on the bosse's movement set / animations in the future. In HI3 it was so obvious because it is like "semi-futuristic" the invincibility animations for the bosses are so obvious they like go "golden" or "red" or something, which is not fairly good if implemented on genshin's setting.
I would like to apologize for this being a somewhat like an essay. Be that as it may, feel free to reply down below if I generally missed something or said some mistake within these opinions of mine. I would be gladly know what may seems needed to be corrected.
please, no PvP in a p2w game… and i would add gameplay config options, like mouse aiming is completely wrong and lots of locked keybinds for no reason at all..
Bro you should be working at hoyoverse and put this video on your resume, literally suggesting QOL changes
I think the biggest issue with genshin not having any of yhese things is that Hoyo’s other game, Honkai, DOES have all these things. There’s meaningful co-op. A solid endgame grind. Rerolling of substats. Universal enhancement/ascension materials. So they can obviously implement all these things effectively, they just don’t.
Things that I care about is loadouts, disable constellations, and harder content. Just give shops in other regions ascension materials for characters. Make it really expensive so it does not trivialize the collecting part of this game. Collecting materials is part of the charm of this game.
I would love to see a way to farm blue fates, honestly. Limited amount per week to keep it from being abused but standard is just a joke at this point, no one spends money on it to begin with so it wouldn't even be a loss for mihoyo. Assuming you don't spend primos and don't hit any early pity, at the current rate you can only expect one or two five stars per year the buildup is so slow. For what? Another Qiqi after half a year of built pity? It's just painful.
Every single thing mentioned was very valuable and honestly is a no-brainer to add… but all of us keep forgetting… this is also a mobile game …
Having different buttons to improve gameplay? Limited on the phone.
Raid bosses/huge parties? No phone could handle that.
More end game content? Mobile games are usually played for a few hours a day anyways
I'm not even sure how on earth they are gonna fit 4 more regions onto a phone
there should at least be more world levels added, it seems incredibly simple and at least somewhat addresses the problem of the overworld being a complete joke
Wow this was the best video in this channel, i hope hoyoverse actually does some of these.
I'm pretty sure hoyo thinks the endgame is raising up the characters.
I've heard some complaints about Tartaglia c4 and Zhongli c6, which are mostly owned by whales, and I imagine the whales would have a lot of weight to throw around with Hoyoverse
Going along with the "Skippable cutscene" thing, they should also add some system to replay/review cutscenes. I think the lack of something like that is the main reason they make the cutscenes unskippable, as kind of a "this is the only chance you're gonna have to see it because we don't like people posting our content on YouTube"
Tbh as time goes I feel like I'm just losing interest in the game
Sometimes even when I do get that "I wanna play Genshin so bad" once I actually go into the game. It just dies. Not because there's no content, the game feels so dead more than the gacha games I play on my phone.
The combat is just boring the more I think about it. I only play like 4 hours a week so I shouldn't even feel this burnt out
Honestly I think the material grinding and Artifacts just kills the fun out of the game. There's a point where farming to get characters stronger has it's limit. It's been almost a year and I still can't a full 8 character party fully maxed. No Mobile Gacha game is this bad
Could you imagine Genshin being released with 50 characters on released like with most Gacha games these days
damn I really thought ittos ult could not be overwritten or am I wrong?
I'd LOVE to do my Co-Op with my friends in Genshin. Not just challenge battles or raids, but I wish they'd add evergreen minigames. For example: give us a gadget that lets us start and ad hoc game of Windtrace for just your co-op friends, even if it's limited to your teapot. I started playing Genshin to play WITH other people, not just to beat bosses ad nauseum.
I dont mind long dialog if there are voice in it but yeah they cant do it on less major quest/events.. I can say its hard for them to change a thing immediately… they might be following a road map for their story and development not to mention creating characters and balancing them. It's fine for me at the moment except for the resin related stuff and artifact RNGs
I hope Granblue and ToF give Genshin a run for its money. I would love Genshin to further improve on a lot of things. Perhaps a good competition will oen their eyes to improvements.
More things for UI:
1. Shield timer
2. Skill cooldown timer of inactive party members (I often switched to a character just to find the skill isn't ready yet)
Also one thing that make me upset on every patch: new things for Serenitea but the load still fucking the same
But in the end it doesn't even matter! They won't change anything according our request
All they need to do for the shield measurement is put a side bar with a different color next to stamina
If only someone was able to unite most of the whales and BP/Welkin only subs to boycott spending for 1 patch unless Hoyoverse improves the game then maybe they finally fix the game.
WE NEED TO SKIP CUTSCENES !!!!!!!!!
But remember this is a MOBILE game, the control scheme is hard to design that work for mobile device.
Taking into account the new addiction prevention rule in China, I feel like that maybe it's not that Hoyoverse don't want to add content, but that the majority of their playerbase can't benefit even if they do. I mean, I don't know much about the mainland Chinese government and what sort of rules they put on companies, but I know the rules they put on the players, I know how the chinese community reacts, and I see it first hand. (I'm Chinese) And I don't think they'd like it if there's content added to the game that they can't access or make use of, when Hoyoverse started off as a Chinese company… everything else, however? I totally agree.
They won't implement these changes unless another game like it, comes into the scene and shines these issues that Genshin has. Because competition invokes improvement and ingenuity.
