  1. It is important to note that only the Hydro Hypostasis has such rejection properties. So far, Oceanids, spring fairies and other hydro creatures in Teyvat do NOT reject the water like this.

  2. Could it be that the so called "disaster" described by the pyro hypostasis' drop is the thing that the cryo archon is trying to protect teyvat from and thats why she's gathering all the gnoses? As to what this "disaster" is, i believe it's celestia's judgement upon teyvat, and that's why the trailer describes her actions as a "rebellion against the divine" and that signora describes her ambition as "the noblest of them all"

  3. Hey lore cat, thanks for content. Can you connect the fact why they are called Hypostasis to all this? Hypo means under or less than normal, stasis means to slow or stop. So I understand it means they are things whose retardation/degradation is not going as fast as somebody (Celestia?) wants, as in they still have a somewhat strong essence of the buried truth of the past.

  4. I thought the hypostasis repels itself from normal water because the whole world (according to the archon) must be impure, so her justice that flows through these waters, repels from the impurity???!

  5. Isn't Fontaine the place of justice? The archon is the archon of justice, and repudiation means to reject an idea or statement, so possibly just like the oceanids, the hydro hypostasis rejected the idea of the hydro archon. (Or maybe vice versa)
To add onto this, Fontaine even has a court

  6. My hypothesis is:

In Gnosticism, hypostasis means "origin" or "underlying spiritual nature". This could mean that the elemental cubes we find in Genshin are the distilled versions of each element's original ideals. Since only the hydro cube has these rejection properties, this could mean that its spiritual nature does not reflect that of the Hydro Archon (i.e. the current Hydro Archon could have a duplicitous nature or a trait contrary to the element's fundamental ideals). This could also explain why the Oceanids rejected the current Hydro Archon's rule because of conflicting ideals.

What this unacceptable ideal might be is unknown, but may have something to do with Dainsleif's comment on the current hydro archon: "The God of Justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods. But even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine" (i.e. the Hydro Archon might have bent to Celestia's ideals to justify the purging done to the godless civilizations–"selective justice" which is not "true justice").

    Archons, Genshin lore is deep!

  7. Does anyone remember why the Oceanid is in Liyue? It’s because she rejects to current Hydro Archon all together. So it’s like that the Hydro archon isn’t a very likable person or is really bad at being an archon

  8. seems like Hydro bosses got some resentment or fear towards Hydro Archon .. Oceanid also speaks to us as if we are assasins sent after her its quite curious tbh ..

  9. Ok I'm gonna point out something I saw from another video (from Wei)
I really liked the concept of that vid and it seems that it might apply here too, or I might have understood the video wrong.
The other video compares the hypostasis' as weakened forms of the vishaps who used to rule the 7 sovereigns b4 the Primordial One came to Teyvat. And its kind of interesting how the claim was made: under the description for lizards (the book which has living beings/monsters info), it is written that some mad/genius scientist has found a way to use these life forms and make explosives/catalysts something. And weirdly, Sucrose E skill and ult makes a small anemo hypostasis (the actual hypostasis' and hers have the same cubic centre if u notice). Bonus point- she is a bio alchemist who experiments existing things.
Since vishaps and lizards are distinctly related to one another (both are reptiles), it is very much possible that the hypostasis' are weakened forms of the dragon/vishaps who ruled ancient teyvat! And since the Teyvat we see now is the land the Primordial One has taken from them, wouldn't it make sense that the hydro hypostasis hates the now Teyvat and refuses it's water to fuse with any other in this world?

  10. I remember completely this unnerving quest with a Kairagi on Yashiori Island where you had to pray to this mysterious entity only referred to as "He". I can neither remember the name of the quest nor find it on YouTube but I remember it being right next to Orobashi's skull and Maguu Kenki's arena. You would obtain free exquisite chests daily each time you prayed to this "He". You would do this until the Kairagi eventually went berserk and attacked for for seemingly no reason. After that you would go to that village in Yashiori and find a note or record of some sort revealing that people were being sacrificed and killed.
When I reached Watatsumi I was shocked to see that the Hydro Hypostasis was also called "He". I assumed that the Hydro Hypostasis was their deity or whatever but it seems like theres still much more to it. I haven't seen many people talk about this so an explanation or something would be appreciated

  11. The word Purity here is questionable.

Pure oil dont mix with pure water simply because their property. The fact that Hydrostasis water dont mix with the purest water from Fontaine is likely more indicative of its different property than anything else. So it is something like heavy water vs water. Both is called water and looks like water, but one is H2O the other is D2O. Totally different at a fundamental level

  12. thats not all…

why is the Hydro Hypostasis in Inazuma?
Why is the Pyro Hypostasis there too?
Why is the Electro Hypostasis in Mondstadt?

Shouldnt they be in their corresponding element's nation?

  13. Fated darkness prob means another great cataclysm but stronger or maybe something similar to what honkai went through which was all of humanity being wiped out and those who were frozen underground had to wait 50k yrs so they could help humanity rebuild itself

  14. pyro hypostasis one is so creepy as if it live so many years ago and knew this was bound to happened, JUST WHAT IF hypostasis were really the seven sovereigns

  15. I like to think the rejection properties of the hydro hipostassis is something created by uroboshi (the serpent, sorry I don't know if the name is right) and it repels every other kind of water to assure that Watatsumi Island "floats"

  16. About the hydro hypostasis thing rejecting water, i think it could be somthing like Hydro =/= water. Probably explains why hydro slimes can drown.. in water

  17. I feel more like the thing of pure water and the hydro hypotasis not accepting it is like foreshadowing?, like there are some hints that tell us that the hydro archon, the god of justice is not so justice, so its like, the pure water is actually not so pure and thats why the hydro hypotasis doesnt mix with it idk
