people always make the mistake of considering an element = their characters. Navia and Xilonen doesn't make Geo good, they're just good characters, but none of their merit lie on geo's strengths at all. Cryo is a nasty case because it's a good element that simply doesn't have much characters that take advantage of it, specially with so much potential unfulfilled to this day, and they making freeze useless on bosses as well, a stupid design decision.
My limited Cryo are Shenhe, Eula, Ganyu and Ayaka between them I only regret Ayaka mostly cause she’s my first limited character who I benched for Yanfei until I bothered doing Inazuma several months later, she was not only team specific but also boring persona that didn’t do much for story similar to kazowa so I didn’t build her for over a year when shenhe finally rerun and I saved for her C2 by skipping kazowa, honestly Cryo does need serious boost like geo Charlotte is fantastic support but not buffer
C0 Wriothesley is fine. no need to get C1. His primary weakness is that he's entirely single target, but since floor 12 has repeatedly placed world bosses in there, then he's still good. His melt teams are good – not the best – but still good enough. Burning melt teams are definitely viable.
As someone who main wriothesley (obvious from pfp), wriothesley is still strong but not to the extent of the height of DPS such as neuvillette, arlecchino and so on..
Cryo Freeze is awful nowadays.. BUT.. Burnmelt however, is quite good..!! Hence why i think Ganyu & Wriothesley becomes better than Ayaka..
The problem is that Shenhe is too restrictive for them with the quota thing.. And her ult becomes an issue for burnmelt..
Only C6 Shenhe becomes super good for them, but then, does anyone besides whale have her C6??
Cryo Burnmelt team is lowly becoming better.. Mavuika might be the Furina for Burnmelt team, who knows?
My Ganyu is waiting for her return to meta. I still use her in world exploration tho coz I really like her. My Ayaka is still in the process of being built.
the elemental reaction of cryo must be buffed tweaked and reworked due to cryo being the only element who rely on it own numbers secondly more pyro off field support and applicators must be added to the game to gain melt thirdly add more damage supports to increase cryo selfish playstyle
Wriothesley is just a worst version of ayaka he only gets good with cons and if you are the wanna compare him to ayaka you have to consider a coned ayaka not just C0 ayaka and not to mention the lake of f2p dps weapons for the catalyst weapon type when compared to sowrds so in short wriothsly is good for whales that pull for his cons and a 5 dps catalyst weapons his signature or otherwise but still you have to deal with more complex mechanics while ayaka works out of the box but to be fair wriothesly has the better dash in combat but as a catalyst user he sucks up all the stamina with his charged attack to make up for that convenient
Cryo is only good on damage but no reaction damage Shame we dont have any other other good reactions let along any applicaters to make it fun to play. Cryo is interesting but it is way outclassed by reactions, elem master, and other raw damage dealers like Arlecchino or Hu Tao or many other examples

Freeze unavailable Cryo most effective, Shatter in shambles. The abyss being Anti-Cryo for the span of Fontaine adds on to this. Cryo shields, resistant and blobs with perma hydro aura, with those dreaded dancers in every rotation.
Melt is still plenty viable as with vape because we have all the tools to enhance it. With that said, Wrio with an R5 Widsith is top cryo via melt at the moment, if you're lucky to have it. Melt being the only thing viable that leaves, Rosario, Chongyun, Ganyu and… Aloy. If only Ganyu best F2P weapon didn't require head shot or the other removes the ability to use burst. They really have it in for Cryo.
They need to stop making the enhancers the same element. Electro Mika saving you a slot would be great. As he is now he's better as Zhongli physical crushing our actual physical dps,Eula. Just give us Variety and not some Niche support that works with 1 character where you need c6.
It's not time for Cryo right now, it is Pyro's moment to burn bright.
Cryo will get it's turn in Snezhnaya, and I already predict it will roll around crit mechanics. A buffer that will give either crit damage or crit rate to characters that do cryo related reactions, most likely the Tsaritsa. Or a huge damage bonus to enemies that are frozen. For enemies that can't be frozen, they'll get half this bonus instead or increased melt damage.
So far, we only have characters that buff crit damage through constellations (Gorou, Sara, Shenhe, Faruzan…), and Rosaria's the only character in the game that buffs crit rate at C0 (and she's hard to build if you want the full buff). Every nation so far has covered a specific mechanic of the game:
-Mondstadt with anemo, cc, debuff. -Liyue with geo and shields. -Inazuma with electro and energy recharge mechanics. -Sumeru with dendro, elemental mastery and new elemental reactions. -Fontaine with hydro,hp and hp fluctuation buffs (furina + hunter set). -Natlan with pyro, Nightsoul blessing and cinder city with natlan characters, and maybe atk.
The only mechanic unexplored in depth is crit. Hopefully Snezhnaya will take care of that.

imo another reason why cryo feels so bad to play rn is nilou. after her banner, every abyss just gotta have that one otherwise inconsequential cryo shield on each side to make nilou unplayable. and that makes freeze teams unplayable too

Sumeru saved Electro and kicked Cryo right in the nuts, it just spiraled down from there, freeze isn't as OP as it was, even in Fontaine, where Cryo was expected to have a comeback with the release of the 1st cryo catalyst, yeah, Wrio. Superconduct is a good concept since it shred resistance, but Physical is just so bad that reaction was forgotten. Melt is good, melt is great, it's the saving grace for Cryo. Last is shatter, man, I wish they buff shatter. It's a 3 step reaction like hyperbloom and burgeon, it should have the same amplifier 300% as them, not to mention hyperbloom can do 2 instance of dmg, while shatter can do only 1. And it doesn't work on bosses, like how worse can it possibly be

Cryo never raised. It has always been a weak element. That slightly changed with Shenhe's and Furina's releases, but not for long.
