  1. They could just work on the patrification effect which occurs during zhongli's burst.

Release a geo character who petrifies enemies. Hitting patrified enemies with a physical attack causes shatter which does 300% physical damage and lowers geo and physical resistance of said enemy.

or just reworking the 4 piece archaic petra set so that it scales with the defence of the character that caused the crystilize reaction

It would have been much better if Geo didn't have an infusion but rather acts as a buff for physical damage which would have made characters like the geo archon a very good physical dps due to his normal attacks.

I wanted to go into more detail but I decided to keep it as short as possible

  2. Dendro, anemo, and hydro characters can be instantly good because of their element, geo does not, geo characters rely solely on their numbers and kit to perform. you can ignore their element, that makes them somewhat boring imo, might as well make them vision-less.

  3. Why not give Geo the same treatment they use for Anemo character design? Make Geo Constructs that can infuse an element, and distribute it on field. No VV set would mean it has to do something more than that, but creating rocks that absorb electro and then create an electro application field could be a niche idea that works well.

  4. So a random thought that might not matter compared to the great points everyone else made, what if when the crystallise shield you have is broken or replaced by another crystallise shard, it explodes and deal damage like when Noelle's shield runs out. Maybe make it deal damage according to EM. Maybe have it shred res according to the elemental shield for 6 seconds (this might be too op since anemo needs a set for this)

Edit: another thought is what if it gives bonuses depending on what elemental shield it is. Hydro crystallise becomes extra max hp (no heal), pyro becomes stamina reduction, electro extends skill duration, cryo becomes slows enemies when they hit shield. Trying not to go buff atk, em, def, crit with these choices lol

  5. Okay but aren't almost all geo characters extremely practical and have extremely well defined kits like I'm not even gonna mention how monogeo can obliterate one side of the abyss while you use your funky reaction characters on the other side…
You have a really good point with crystalize even if at times crystalize is really helpfull to get shields and resistance to interaction while also having a healer for example when you are fighting the rifthounds in the abyss.
I use triple geo itto gorou and albedo with kokomi or kuki and the team is imortal and uninterruptible.
Personally to me geo is a bad element with very good characters that almost all the time can make it to the top working together

  6. wait people really think there is nothing to do with geo anymore? Bro i got you. (yes i was verry bored dont question it)

    Weapon: Catalyst

    Element: Geo

    Acsencion Stat: Elemental Mastery

Normal Attack: would stomb on the ground and letting a Geo spike come out under the enemy dealing Geo Damage.*

Heavy Attack: He uses Geo particles to create a boot and then kick his enemy dealing Geo Damage. Lower Range but bigger Base damage and better AoE the normal attack.

E-Ability: creates a solid shield around himself wich wont allow him to move and also blocks projectiles from inside just like from the outside. Melee attacks also wont go through from both sides. But attacks on ground (Normal attack, Bennet Burst…) will still hit.

The shields HP is based on the Elemental Mastery. Enemies damaging the Shield will make it loose particles wich can hit the enemies attacking. The more HP the shield has the more particles will break loose before it breaks.

Burst: sends out a little shockwave on the ground breaking every Geo Construct on field gaining more and more power for the big hit. The bonus the Geo Constructs provide depends on their health and Elemental Mastery. (I think some cosntructs dont have HP like Zhongli pillar, don't know what to do with them. Either ignoring them or giving them a set basestat scaling with EM)*

Passive: Crystalize shields give a small extra damage boost.

Second Passive: Can have 2 Crystalize shields active at the same time. Has a cooldown.

Andventuring Passive: Ore and Crystal have 50% chance to drop 1 adittional Ore when broken and 25% to give 2 Additional when broken with a Heavy attack.

C6: Burst attack will also count Crystalize schield as Geo objects and break them for additional damage Buff.

  7. Geo is my favorite element and I LOVE all of the Geo units a lot but it seems like there's such a hard stuck dmg ceiling for the element as a whole. Right now everything functions well aside from physical but as a single element, there's nothing going for it

Plus Geo, with all of its units so far, have everything it needs:
    A dps- Itto and Ningguang
    A support- Goro and Yunjin
    A healer- Noelle
    A shielder- Zhongli
    An off field dps- Albedo
    And an artifact set

Any new character would most definitely fall in line with the above but it wouldn't ADD anything outside of specific Crystalize (underwhelming) focus

  8. As someone who loves Geo despite how suck it is. My thoughts on this element.

    1. Why they didn't make Geo react with Dendro? Before we gotten Sumeru, I really hoped that they make Dendro works with it since again, nature? This game really really likes elemental reaction thus crystallize is almost useless to the team since we don't build EM on Geo units.

    2. Geo, the element that excels in shielding yet weak in breaking shield? 😅 Yes, I know Swirl is like the universal breaking shield? But come on, Hoyo lol.

    3. Lack of variety team build. It's the sad thing about Geo for me. Since its reaction is only crystallize, people barely pair them with other elements. I do play Ningguang with double pyro xD since Gorou is def% geo type. But I think people understand what I mean.

People says that this new character might be Geo? Idk anymore and she might be good in crystallize if she is Geo. But how long did that takes for Hoyo to create such character? We're almost to Fontaine xD.

All I hope they could rework their reactions if possible since there is rumour about electro charge might get rework.

  9. Geo should have the same elemental dmg bonus as physical like 58.3% it’s not fixing it but it at least make sense . Also the geo resonance should give 40% or 30% geo shred

  10. I'll agree to your Geo character creation challange without much thought here one

    Geo 5 Star
Passive: Crystalize reactions created by this character are embedded in the ground and when hit with Geo ground resonance (Zhong Pillar effect) it pulses for a porsion of the characters def in elemental dmg (cant be picked up anymore)
Skill Summons a statue that pulses for Geo dmg similer to Zhongli's Pillar pusing for geo dmg every few seconds (so that the cahracter can crystalize himself)
Burst All embedded shards explode for the infused element along with a burst of Geo dmg based off the characters def while gaining a Shield with a duration based around how many shards exploded

Numbers were never really my thing but ideas are one of my strong suits i can create characters like this all day

  11. Why not just make a geo character that scales off EM with good persistent AOE geo application and make the crystals picked up by the party use his/her EM as the shield power(also makes it so it acts like the character picking it up so that petra doesn't require you to use the character to pick the shard up)? It's so simple I'm not sure how Hoyoverse hasn't thought of this.

Also makes the crystalize reaction have half of the 4pc effect of petra.

  12. Forgive me if I come across rude, but it seems to me you completely misunderstood the Geo element and it’s functionality gameplay wise.
I don’t look at leaks but it seems quite preposterous to think the game devs changed a character’s element because they “don’t have any ideas” for Geo. we’re talking about a billion dollar company’s game design team, I doubt they’d run out of ideas after producing less than 10 characters for the geo element. New characters are usually ready months before their release to the public.
The lack of reactions is part of what makes the geo element so good in genshin, because you can slap a geo unit in the flex slot of any team comps or a geo duo in any single reaction comp and you don’t run any risk of messing up your elemental reactions. That is why double geo hu Tao with albedo and zhongli has been extremely popular until double hydro came along, and why double geo yoimiya vape with yun Jin and zhongli is still one of her best teams.
Overall, most of the geo units are extremely useful either as filler for flex slots, like zhongli or albedo, or as specific niche supports like yun Jin.
You said so yourself in the video: you can use zhongli in almost any team, for both his shield and his universal res shred. if zhongli was a pyro or cryo unit, You wouldn’t be able to do so, his pillar would steal reaction procs from your main unit. If albedo was hydro, he’d be in the top 5 units in the game, on par with the likes of yelan if not Xinqiu himself, who is arguably the best unit in the game so far.
Even the geo resonance is extremely powerful: not only makes the crystalize shields stronger, and while I agree crystalize scalings could be improved, geo res also gives a 15% flat damage bonus which is universally good. This further reinforces the idea of geo being the support element for any other elemental reaction.
You said geo is basically another physical, and you’re not completely wrong; from a game design perspective, geo is the element hoyoverse uses when they want to add a unit without elemental reactions, but not necessarily a physical damage focused unit and this is extremely good. this is why yun Jin’s passive is based on the number of different elements in a team. If yun Jin was a pyro unit, she would’ve been nothing more than a worse version of bennet. Geo is meant to be used by hoyoverse to introduce new flexible units that can go in many different elemental teams as supports without messing up their reactions; the idea of the mono geo team stemmed from the fact the geo units are extremely solid in a vacuum, and all they had to do to consolidate the mono element team was creating gorou, which to this day is still the best mono support we’ve ever seen.
Also, while it’s true most geo units have a def hybrid or bonus scaling, they still scale off attack and can easily be run as a one of or as a duo in most comps.
Even when it comes to the geo artifact set, the archaic Petra, the 35% elemental damage bonus is insanely good. So underrated.
While it’s true that Kazuha can double swirl and give the VV effect to two element at the same time, not everyone has Kazuha and not every team has space for him. Or you might prefer to run sucrose for the EM and TToDS buffs she provides. But even if you have Kazuha in your team, while the diminishing return hits hard on ED after a certain percentage, the Archaic buff is still extremely valuable.
In conclusion, while I agree crystalize could use a buff, the lack of reactions is part of what makes the geo element so good and so flexible.
Sorry for the extremely long comment but I feel there are a lot of misconceptions regarding geo as an element and it’s purpose, especially among the more casual players. Again this doesn’t want me be an assault or a slander in any way or form. Just my opinion on the subject of your video.
    Cheers!

  13. I just had a wild though. Since a lot of geo characters create geo constructs and the only use for them right now is to resonate with zhongli (except albedo). What if we could somehow break these geo constructs and the explosion or idk deals damage? This would lock in mono geo teams, but we already use those.

  14. My idea for geo character: character that enhances Crystalize. When shard apears on a field it deals damage equal to 50% of it's durability, same happens when active character pick shard up or when crystal shield gets destroyed. Depending on a elemental type of shield it enables different bonuses:
    1) Pyro – increases atk by 18%
    2) Hydro – restores 20 stamina every 4 seconds
    3) Cryo – increases crit rate by 12%
    4) Electro – shortens cd of elemental skill and burst by 2 seconds when picked up or got destroyed.
the buffs will work for entire team and not only active character and work until shield is active.

  15. I always see ppl complaiining that Crsytalise sucks. And i can understand where that is coming from. But here is something i feel like no one really looks at. What are the reactions acually doing. Between Pyro , Hydro and Cryo all reactions are things we can observe in nature, they are the natural reactions that one would expect to see, its intuetive. Dendro + Hydro is as well and Dendro + Pyro is also to be expected. But Electro is when the reactions start looking like video game mechanics rather than some thing natrurally ocuring. Personally i thing Electro as an element fails at the most basic job. being an intuetive element to play with.
But let me mention Anemo and Geo, They are opposite elmements and nations and its like no coinsidence that Mondstadt and Liyue are the first to nations we visit. Heaven and erth freedom and the binding force of contracts. And while anemo spreds and carrys the elements geo absobs them. Anemo is free while goe is binding. Geo Characters usuly like sticking together while having 2 anemo chars in a team usually dosnt do anything for you. conceptually Geo and Anemo are very well designed as they are representetive of there nations and origins.
And i think that this world building is one of the most importend part of genshins succes. Geo isnt "competetive" but it dosnt have to be. ther is a unique playstyle that only geo offers and the game would be worse for it if we lost that.

  16. I main Ningguang and i agree with the author of this video. Geo is basically colored phys. It's a pain to admit, but it is how it is. I just like geo characters, they're unique in some sort. I really like playing with them. More then i like other elements. Yeah it's maybe fun to see colorful numbers, but when you slaughter everything in yellow it adds up some spice, you know. I wish hoyo would do smth with geo, at least changing its reactions some how, that would be great. And i wanna see more geo characters because visually geo is really fun to play from the Itto's bull rush to the freaking John Lee meteor. Ahaha…

The rest of my comment is how i became a geo main, you don't have to read it if you don't want to.
I'm playing from the 1.0 patch, my first main probably was Lisa, then i switched to Kaeya and finally to Klee (i got c1 Klee). But at the time no one really was knowing how to build characters and there wasn't that many guides. So i was struggling with the characters i had, and every battle was a pain. I even quit the game for a month or so because i wasn't really enjoying it. But then i saw some video on yt. There some person was flexing his Ningguang. And i was like "hey, that's a really good dmg, and i have that character too". The thing is that i got Ning from the second novice banner pull. Buuuut, i didn't understand how the character worked so i put her aside. After that video i pulled out my Ning from the closet. Her dmg wasn't really good at the time, but for some reason i found her gameplay enjoyable. It was much easier than Klee's or Lisa's, and enemies died a bit faster than when i tried to kill them with Kaeya, so…. I decided not to give up on her. I tried to give her similar build like in video and soon enough she was my strongest character on the team that carried me like a champ. Then Zhongli came and i bought Benny from the shop just for fun, but then i saw some teams with him and Ning and i was like "so that's how you need to play with him". Eventually Ning became my main. I even bought a bp weapon for her. When i tried to pull for c1 Zhongli i got Mona and was out of primogems so i was kinda forced to skip Albedo. And because i got Amos bow from the standard banner i decided to go for Ganyu instead. I don't regret that decision, but eventually i started to like geo more and more and wanted to collect all geo characters. But Albedo escaped me on his rerun, but guaranteed me Itto instead. I decided to pull on every banner with the geo character, which in the end led me to have: c2 Zhongli (won every 50/50 except the last one), c2 Itto (won every 50/50 except the first one, was guaranteed after losing to Albedo), c0 Albedo (got one on a guarantee after losing 50/50 on c3 Zhongli), c6 Ning (had her c6 since 1.3-1. 4 patch, pulled on banners that had her, but got her last con from the weapon banner), c6 Yunjin (pulled on Zhongli's banner in 2.4 until i got her c6, was really lucky with her pulls), c6 Gorou (the most difficult one to get despite the fact that i pulled on every Itto's banners, i got him c1 on the first, none on the second (my c6 Kuki and c6 Chongus are painful reminder), and finally c6 on the third, but c6 Faruzan came earlier than c5 Gorou), and c6 Noelle (actually she was my first c6 character, i guess i got her cons from the first Klee banner, i don't remember really).
I 36* abyss with almost mono-geo. For example the current abyss (3.5) i do 12-3 with mono-geo on one side and pyro-geo on the other. But 12-1 and 12-2 demand different characters, so i use pyro-geo on one half and my Ayato team on the other. But previous abysses i used only geo characters. I 36* abyss since 2.4 patch. Why? Because i didn't have good dps and supports on the other half. Geo requires a lot of investment, and that's why other characters were a bit neglected. Ning is still my main dps. For now she has 73/201 ratio, but if i change her feather with the one i got not long ago, i can get her 64/225, but i prefer more crit rate.
If i have any troubles of killing the enemies i pull out my Ning. I do like her a lot, as well as geo overall. And because i main this element, i know of all of its problems, and it's so sad. Geo deserves better!
If you read all of it, thank you! Geo supremacy!

  17. My concepts for new geo characters would be like,

A support character that gathers enemies with ult by using a sinkhole like field and skill applies geo on to enemies. Passives increase the ult efficiency.

A dps character with passives that increases damage with the number of crystallise shards they have on them with a cap and doing skill and burst damage based off of it.

A support character with passives for generating and applying crystallise sheilds to enemies that debuff them and reduce their defence drastically.

A character with alternate sprint like ayaka and Mona but they use the dirt. When alt sprint used during skill, they leave exploding pillars in their trail. Ult generates upgraded exploding pillars that spawn at enemy point and stop their movement for some time and explode once a timer is off.

A geo character that reduces physical resistance of enemies based on number of crystallise shards gathered. Skill and ult reliably apply geo onto enemies, so that they can utilise physical attacks too.

A geo skill based on lowering enemy and bosses speed drastically and and ult having them petrified, in case of bosses, their defence and speed will be reduced.

These are all, maybe more would be created if Hoyo tried a bit more in parallel with their Dendro hype. I really hoped they would release a Geo character in Sumeru, that isn't just plain attacker like Itto ( He is there for that niche and great in it too ).

I hope they will produce intersting uses for crystallise and Geo characters, as they are supposedly Inert to other elements, leaving more freedom with the usage of Geo as an element and the character playstyles not being hindered by other elements.

  18. A new kit idea for geo….
E: Gives damage bonus based on the def of overall team
Q: Deals coordinated attacks everytime an opponent takes damage, and stuns them based on the number of times they are hit by the skill, each hit increases duration by 1sec with a base of 3 seconds….
A1: Increases def of the teammates based on own def, doesn't affects the q
A4: stun enemy have their def reduced by 1% for every second they are stun, maximum 50%

  20. I agree with the video overall, and I really want a Nilou character for crystalize and a sand based geo catalyst user. But I honestly think people were confusing Kirara's information with the "geo" tall lady we know is coming from Fontaine. Kirara was geo in old concepts yes, but two upcoming geo units is bound to get mixed up in the telephone game.

  21. Some changes I suggest that may help geo be more popular.
    1. Make the Archeic petra set viable as a geo support set by changing the set effect so that it can be triggered even if the wearer is in the party but not onfield.

    2. They should change how crystallize shields work by increasing the base value of the shield and instead of EM giving bonus hp to the shield, the shield should increase the active character's Shield strength by based on the EM of the character that triggered crystallize.

    3. Introduce a character (preferably a 4*) that can deal off field geo dmg (like zhongli/albedo) but has a kit similar to Xingqiu/thoma. I know Gorou exists but it would be cool seeing gems like ninguang's fly into the enemy from unknown locations.

  22. I have loads of Ideas for geo characters here are 2

    Character 1:

Base hp: 12500 base atk: 170 Base def: 750
    Ascension stat: energy recharge
    Weapon:polearm

    Elemental skill:
Drops three stalactites on the enemies dealing large damage based on def
    Cd:12 seconds
Creates 3 particles(one for each stalactite)

    Elemental burst:
Creates an AOE where stalagmites continuously emerge from the ground and attack enemies within it.
    Burst cost: 60
    Duration:15 seconds
    Cooldown:15seconds

    Passives:

A1: when elemental skill deals a critical hit it will generate 2 additional geo particles
A4: enemies within the burst AOE will have all elemental and physical resistances decreased by 25% and all elemental and physical resistance of the active character within the field is increased by 25%

    Character 2:

    Weapon: catalyst

    Base hp:8800 base atk:120 Base def:1340

    Ascension stat: def%

Elemental skill: Turns the characters skin into rock which will shatter off into shards leaving them as a golden skeleton. The rock shards will attack with the characters normal attacks and scale off def. Activating the ability takes some of their hp which will be partially restored at the end of the duration. (Generates 1 particle every 2 co ordinated attacks)

    Duration:10 seconds
    Cooldown:8 seconds
Hp cost: 40% of current hp
Self healing at end of duration:20% of max hp

Elemental burst: Crystalizes their entire body into rock shattering itself and reforming into a giant floating tunnel boring drill which will deal constant damage as it passes through enemies. (basically you turn into a fast moving Ayaka burst) At the end of the duration the full party receives a small amount of healing

    Burst cost: 70
    Duration: 8 seconds
    Cooldown: 18 seconds

    Passives:

A1: when the character looses 10% of their hp they will gain 20% def until the hp is restored(max 8 stacks). Loosing hp below 50% will result in a 50% decrease in all dmg

A4: Normal and charged atk dmg is increased based on def

Additional passive:this character will gain 50% geo dmg bonus but a 100% decrease in crit dmg

  23. I think that crystallize should be changed to give the character who picked up the shard different effects:
    Pyro=20% atk
    Cryo=10% crit rate
    Hydro=healing 2000 hp
    Electro=restores 5 energy

These effects would roughly double with 1000 EM and would be a good change to the reaction because rather than make it deal damage (which could make geo characters who already have very high scaling too strong) It can now be used to support non geo characters and any geo character could now function as either a buffer a healer or a battery depending on who the teammates are.

  24. if they made it so every time you picked up a smol crystallize shield from the ground, you would deal AoE damage around you with that specific element, fuck it make it scale with EM to absurd levels or something, ez clap

  25. I don't really believe Hoyo has run out of ideas for Geo characters. At the very least they could always design them in Yun Jin style, i.e. as a character where the element does not matter. And my understanding is, they have characters planned out quite long into the future, I doubt they'd completely forget about Geo in that. But yeah, it's a strange element. Also worth of note is that Geo is least populated of the original elements present in the game on release. There's just 7 Geo characters while there's 9 Anemo and the rest has 11. Anemo also feels like an outstander, no reaction with Dendro and there's just one reaction with all other elements – swirl – though it is more useful than crystallize since it deals damage. And of course there's alse Dendro which was relelased recently and still needs to catch up.

  26. In my opinion, the issue is the elemental reaction.
First, it shouldn't drop crystals that you need to pick up, it should generate the shield on you directly upon triggering the reaction.
Second, it should scale with the attribute (def, hp or shield strength) of the Geo character who generates it.
Third, it should either be just a Geo shield – like Zhongli's – or be a Geo shield imbued with the element that it reacts to.
And finally, it could even have a retaliate effect – either dealing damage back to the attacker until it breaks, or exploding when it breaks for AoE damage

  27. Nobody plays geo for goodness sake. We play the character which i think would be better of just be physical damage for their skill damage.

Like…at least if dps like itto/noelle/ningguang is physical we can superconduct and get more damage,

if buffer like gorou buffs phys dmg bonus and crit dmg (c6) for phys characters it wouldve been a more appealing character,

If a sub-dps like albedo actually deals physical sub dps it wouldve actually be usefull and not ruinning element aplication with crystalize

  28. They just have to make a characters that makes crystallize shields explode(when on ground) dealing the respective elemental damage while applying the specific element so they accually have synergy with the rest of the roster

  29. I copy paste my comment from other video but i think I made some good points about my concerns so what do you think?

No hates to you bro before, but making a character that can change Geo reaction can barely be called a 'solution' because locking the capability of default mechanic behind character is not a good decision. It's like locking wet status inflicted by hydro to Xingqiu only. Another worst decision like this is already true, Gorou for example, where he has the ability to draw in crystal shards which is what Geo should have had from the beginning coz having to pick up crystals on your own is hella clunky. They should have fixed Geo altogether.
Btw, Nilou doesn't really change reaction, she just quickening the detonation time of Bloom seed and enhance its power and AoE using her passive. So fundamentally, Bountiful core still in fact a Bloom reaction but then again for Nilou's case ONLY, the implementation of this mechanic doesn't really hurt the default mechanic coz Dendro core has multiple ways to be good by itself (burgeon and hyperbloom) so bountiful core mechanic is exclusive but not entirely greedy by making it a mandatory solution put behind a paywall .
But crystallize on the other hand is defensive reactions, there's nothing to be enhanced here. Making the character that enhances a shield strength from crystallize would kill the sales of other shielder that scales of HP and Zhongli too.
But my point, do not encourage the mindset of making "this character" to enhance or change this element coz at that point Geo by itself wouldn't change at all and will remain "an expensive teamcomp element to build". It's like selling solution except this solution is the most desperate attempt to make something to barely function.
