  1. Honestly I’m interested in the desert settlements. There’s that guy who shows up to trade for resources. So a large amount of Sumeru is a desert clustered around oasis’s.

I felt that Inazuma was a missed opportunity, since it was a civil war there should have been two hub cities. Considering for a large amount of time in the main story we should be unable to access the Shogun side of Inazuma.

Considering the duality of Sumeru, I want two hub cities based on the environment

  3. Btw nahida’s ehm i guess socks?? Btw the things she’s wearing on her feet look very similar to the pillar thingy on top of dragonspine and in the Chasm, so is she tightly related to that (btw i know the spoilers about her, however i was thinking something more since, i think, she is the only character that has this design)

  4. As a middle eastern, here's all I could tell about sumeru characters and their designs:
I think Dori means "like a pearl" in persian and al haitham has a zoroastrianism symbol on his chest, but that's all I could tell about them being related to persian culture, other than that they have completely Arabic and Indian designs.

tighnari is most definitely 100% Arabic, it was the name of a famous Muslim alchemist.

Nilou is a very common persian name, her dance is like THE persian dance that everyone does in weddings in iran, her clothing is ( a more nude version for some reason) of persian mazandaranian clothes,

Cyno's clothes appear to be inspired by traditional outfits that were worn during the Ancient Egyptian civilization. His headpiece resembles the head of Anubis, a jackal-headed deity, aka the God of the mummification.
collei has the design and name of Indian origins(meaning the protector)

I don't know much about dehya ( I would like to) but nahida aka dendro archon is very very weird…

you see… nahida is three different things… blended together:

her name, nahida or anahita, is a persian goddess,

her archon name refers to an Indian old tale ( Kusanali Jataka ) about a tree spirit

her child like appearance and her association with nature and grass specifically, is a reference to yet another persian goddess named amredad.

  5. Anyone notice that the text at the center of the video is VERY out of sync with what she is saying? (It appears like a minute before she actually talks about it)

  6. The dreams thing is probably used to explain how the Akasha system controls knowledge. Dreaming is key to form new neural connections, and is connected to diffuse mode thinking. Basically, without dreaming, you'll hardly learn anything AND you'll hardly come up with innovative solutions. This means that the Akasha system probably replaces dreams as a way of consolidating learning, giving whoever is in charge control over what people know, AND allowing them to put a damper on innovation (because far less meaningful and numerous innovative ideas, or because if the system replaces dreams, then the system controls the kind of new ideas that people come up with). So yeah, it can easily act as censorship turned up to 11, and it likely is used to prevent Kaenri'ah 2.0, but like I said in another conversation on this channel, I really hope there's more to that, because otherwise things will start getting old.
