  1. i agree that we don't know that much about him, but he was definitely at least a "promising student" according to lisa's voice line and they studied together (he was lisa's junior) under the same sage (presumably cyrus)
i assume that he was a student, but didn't become a researcher and instead was more suited to be the mahamatra, who watches the others and guards the laws
also if he was a student and studied with lisa under the same sage he's from spantamad, who study ley lines, the elements, and alchemy!

  2. Maybe the spirit is similar to those of certain Eremite enemies like the Galehunter and Stone Enchanter, who summon bird like spirits and crocodile like ones respectively. Though that is only a guess.

  3. I think Cyno was born outside Sumeru(probably in Fontaine), to parents from Sumeru and Fontaine. That explains his very non-Sumeru-like name. He used to be an excellent engineer(like most people from Fontaine are),that's why he got into Akademiya. Although he is not a researcher per se, he's a highly intellectual person due to his technical prowess. Since he is an engineer, he can do practical work unlike researchers who only rely on theoretical knowledge. That's how he became Matra. And since sages always knew he had a keen sense of justice and ability to find the truth, they kept him away by giving him fighting tasks with Eremites in the sands of Sumeru. And during one such exploration in the desert, he had his true calling as a descendant of King Deshret(or the priest mentioned in that story). Probably he was on the verge of death and in that moment a guardian spirit of Temple Of Silence made a deal with him and that's how he became even more powerful. That's why he felt something when he saw that story, it was probably related to the past of the spirit within him. That also explains why he wears clothes like that priest did. When he returned to Akademiya after this endeavour, everyone must have realised an increase in his power and sense of justice, that's how he became Maha Matra and also got his vision. His weapon also has Khaj-Nisut in its name, furthermore reason to believe he is a descendant of someone from King Deshret's time.

  4. I feel like the temple of Silence is a big, kinda secretive, censorship institution. They are aware of the forbidden knowledge and collect it, but try to abolish it from the rest of Sumeru to "protect them". I wonder why they sealed the Khaenrian machinery though. Maybe Dottore found something juicy in their protocols?

Edit: In Tighnaris Story Quest, Abdo says "Research on mechanical life forms has been banned years ago". So really seems like there is something there.

  5. The fact that he doesn't have a backstory really bugs me. I really hope it's because Mihoyo is saving it for a later date and not that he doesn't have one, because why would they make such a mysterious and cool character loaded with symbolism and mythology only to go nowhere with it. It's such a huge waste of potential.

  6. Just a small heads-up: Cyno isn't a researcher but he was one of the akademiya's students (and a really good one on top of that since he made it in even though he is from the desert). He studied under the same sage as Lisa which means he was a Spantamad student (ley lines, the elements, and alchemy). A scholar called Cyrus (Probably the Spantamad Sage at that time) told Cyno the dangers of knowledge according to his Character story. And in the 3.1 livestream they mentioned that Cyno willingly strayed away from pursuing knowledge due to it's dangers and became a protector instead

  7. The people of Sumeru or the scholars in general look down a lot on the desert people but this Temple of Silence seems to be a big shot that the Akademiya cannot ignore despite being from the desert.

  8. Final Sumeru area

The Temple of Silence is covere by the sand tornado in the desert
Kaveh research that he was doing in the desert could hint that was a device to stop the tornado and have access to it, but something went wrong
The final area to explore will be what lies around and below the tornado

  9. I was a little disappointed when I saw Cyno's backstory, I wanted to know more about him, especially I wanted to know much more about his spirit. I love his character so much and hope hyv will show us more about him in the future, I'm very curious. Even so, I love Cyno so much, he is one of my favourites characters.

  10. There is an act called ,,The Truth Among Page of Purana" from the Teyvat preview trailer. Maybe those two things will do something with each other, because we can also see Cyno at the Sumeru Act in the trailer.

  11. There are some small mistakes. Cyno while not renowed scholar he was still a student who studied under the same teacher as Lisa (he was Lisa's junior). Then about Faruzan, the rumor is that she was "imprisoned" (not sealed) in the Temple of Silence after finding King Deshret's ancient knowledge. This could suggest that Temple of Silence might also be some kind of special prison (like Impel Down from One Piece). Also pretty sure Dehya's right arm is not mechanical because in the Archon Quest she offered to cut her righ arm

  12. For sure there will be an interlude Archon Quest for Cyno, just like how Xiao got his own last 2.7. We even had a lore about the Yakshas cuz of his interlude. Let's wait for 3.6 since they say there will be a new region after Hadramaveth.

  13. Cyno do resembles the Guardian' Tomb we visited that allows Alhaitham, Dehya, him, the Eremite leader, Us & Paimon how King Deshret & Rukkadhevata's truth unlike the superstitions revolving around the two.

  14. I can't express enough how much it bugged me that nowhere (as far as i could find) mentions his strange attire, mainly his headpiece. It was even odder that nobody else seems to mention or ask about it beyond "funny haircut." I really hope we'll get to learn and see more about his story soon.

  15. Great to see you back with new videos! Can you make a video about how each nation trying to preserve their history in your future video? I have been thinking about this ever since I finished the new archon quest with Scaramouche and realize how brilliant Nahida is with her backup memory for Scaramouche

  16. Pretty interesting deep Dive in Cyno's lore. And as with Rukkhadevata's legacy with the sages i think the General Mahamatra role has been a thing that's implaced a few hundred years ago. It's just that Cyno having been appointed as a "lapdog" by the academia to target backstabbers
