The hardest part of returning is catching up on all the quest lines & seeing everything you missed
……Tower of fantasy has so much more content than Genshin, and has endgame for you to use whaled out characters, isn't this why you left Genshin?
And what about more Genshin tcg videos?
Consider the Golden Slumber quest chain. Forgot the specifics but it's a World Quest that starts in Aaru Village and takes you through the entirety of the bottom half of the desert. It's great for both exploration and material hunting. Not only that it gives you a goal to work towards and an interesting story instead of mindlessly grinding.
The hardest part for me is knowing that eventually, I'll be in the same spot before I quit the game because it doesn't seem like Genshin fixed any of its core problems or even plan to. Don't think I'm returning any time soon, maybe not ever, but I still enjoy keeping tabs once in awhile when it pops in my feed
If you click on the book, top right of screen, then click on enemies, select the enemy that has the mats you need and click navigate, it'll put them on the map. Once you kill all enemies in that location, a new location appears on the map. It's very useful!
Actually feels like render distance and lod got nerfed a lot since i played last time… I don't remember boxes and stuff pop out of nowhere and disappearing when you do two steps back all the time, geometry in some places goes low poly to high poly and back on your eyes. And i used to play on a worse PC.
It’s probably the missing out of things and how things are already going on and you could miss them and the quests as well, they’re too much
There's no way im willing to explore the new regions when I have to sit through all the terrible unskippable dialogue. Idc how great they think their trash ass story is but if they force me to read it then just fk off.
Not exactly returning, but I had similar problem with materials. You see I started playing about a year and half ago, around Inazuma chapter released. I saw Raiden Shogun PV so I decided to try this game. I was loving the game, I managed to get Raiden but I couldn't level her because all her exclusive materials are in Inazuma. So I had Noel, Barbara and Xian Ling carry Raiden all the way to Inazuma chapter. It took me a long time to get there. I wished we can skip chapters and teleport right away to Inazuma, just like the Sumeru right now. The hardest part was trying to farm Thunder Manifestation with a bunch of level 30s~40s, it was Genshin Hard Mode, died so many times there. It was crazy but fun time when I think about it now.
Just a suggestion for anyone, if you are returning, try playing different characters, new characters. Get away from your old party routine. You might find the game interesting again.
After getting off of genshin for a few months. Idk what to do after coming back so I just started new acct
I can see that, for me the only Sumeru character I got on my main was Nahida for that exact reason. I rolled for Ayato and c2 raiden just bc one I had so didn't need to lvl her up and she feels like a new character, and Ayato I wanted anyways and I had everything already for him, artifacts, weapon materials.
For me the most challenging things coming back is recognizing the stuff I like about genshin and don't like and not doing what I don't like. A lot of the events I skip now, I don't tackle story stuff until I have time to do it and if I think it's boring put a yt video to not get bored during the low parts. Dendro has made the game more fun for me bc I love abyys, it's really all I do, everytime I log in, I clear it twice with random teams. And that is my new goal in the game, it's clearing abyys with as many different combos I can. Phys rosaria, Freeze Ayaka, Vape Yoimiya, hyperboom Ayato and Kuki, mono Hydro, Aggravate Keqing, Vape Heziou, Hyper Raiden. And doing it with all these teams have been fun, now it would be nice if they changed abyys after like 6 weeks of the same god damn thing but its hoyo so it's probably not changing for another month. I stopped artifact farming bc although the new dendro set is nice, my nahida kills every thing with WT and Shim 2 pc. I've been just leveling up all my 4 stars to give myself more teams to try and clear abyys with, and honestly me focusing on lvls ond more characters over artifacts has gave the game more life again.
I also recognize that I will burn out again eventually and will take a 3 to 6 month break at some point. I think with this game it's just inevitable but once I hit that point I can't try to force it for 2 months and just leave for a bit. I'm predicting middle of 3.5 will be that time for me and will probably leave until 4.2. I liked coming back and having the entire region to catch up on so I think I'll take my breaks b4 each region starts
I played since 1.1 and left genshin right after sumeru was released and came back during the 'test of courage' event. I'm still catching up on main/character quests. One thing I did notice is that the events also give some exposition to the lore. Like I recently did Kazuha's quest and then the archon quest(as was recommended in the game) but it was confusing. Then I incidentally watched a video of the Irodori festival event playthrough and…..WOW. That's when I understood the whole story. While I like that the events are not always just random side stories but missing them does put you in the dark sometimes.
genshin if you keep up everytime: there's nothing to do
genshin if you miss 2-4 patch: tons stuff awaits
You're overreacting a bit imo but if you're not a story type of person you're right,if you are a story type of person just doing the main story questline and a majority of the side ones will put you against enough eremites or any of the new enemy types to get you enough materials for the characters including both drop types from the mushrooms.
Honestly i probably won't stop playing simply because if there's no content there's like 15 mins a day of stuff to do which means i can drink my coffee or something doing it,basically even if there's nothing to do in the game for me i still don't mind giving it the daily 15-30 mins.
I took a 3-month break from Genshin while playing ToF and I came back in November and still playing catch up. I took a month's break in ToF but with the server switch now available I recently got back to it and having fun with both games. My advice to bored people is to take breaks Genshin is not going anywhere.
You can use the guidebook to show you where enemies are. You're welcome.
Building new characters can be a pain in the ass, I'm still trying to get a good article set for Nahida & I've not even taken a break!
You always miss out on the passive event resources and daily resources you didn't catch up on during that time.
Same, just returned recently.. and collecting new ascention material is PAIN
Realizing that the game is still dead and there is no endgame content yet.
Gladly I don't do any of those, I don't really care about new character, I don't even exploring anymore, just sit in a tavern playing cards
Enjoy the little things
I took a break after i got Cyno the hardest part for me returning is having fun on this game anymore its still the same mini games after mini games characters are useless no matter how strong they are if your just gonna use em on mini games its pt. less new 5* are same copy of the old ones just different element / gender 2yrs still no SKIP BUTTON. But L.. Tried to return this patch don't know if how long im gonna last though
1:40 actually if you hit the Starshroom with electro then collect it, it'll be an Activated Starshroom.. totally different materal you might need later.. also hitting it with pyro you get Scorched Starshroom, glad to have you back and good luck!
Whale such as yourself surely has enough stardust to buy monter mats from the shop
wanted to mention the adventurer's handbook exists, but someone already said it here so there you go, I never really went on a break but for some reason, I can't be bothered exploring lately… lately as in, since inazuma launched back 2.0…
the real kicker IMHO is the specialties like the scrub beetles, which you need to find overworld rather than killing enemies, but it can be solved with either an interactive map (hyv does have an official and pretty solid one) or abuse tighnari while looking on and about in the desert (poor tighnari isn't built for the desert life, unlike most characters, even though interestingly enough, his species is originated from the desert)
All the weopons u miss from events. Ul never be able to get
basically is like starting again for get things for new chara
Welcome back my dude.
People really wanted "End game" . But if you take a break from 2-3 updates you have ALOOT to catch upto. It feels overwhelming at one point. I do play an hour genshin a day and still only did quests to unlock areas and still more underground stuff to unlock. Before 3.0 each inazuma island was fun to explore but those islands are nothing compare to the huge sumeru desert.
