Interestingly Nintendo started as a card game company before doing video games and now we got Hoyoverse expanding in the other direction.
Damn I miss playing that game, sad that it's not popular in the west
Don't get your hopes up people.Remember its Genshin and China.
I'm a doubter until you mentioned the 3 Warring Kingdoms
If you go into the current mushroom event and look at one of the bulletin boards you will find an option that says what is the most disliked comment. In that dialogue it pretty much flat out says "what are you an idiot! People don't want complicated gameplay"
Exactly this card game going to a big thing. Everyone prepared to be minblowened when tcg release
It's too early to tell tbh. It's going to be big in China no doubt (based on what you pointed out), but worldwide… Not sure.
If this Game mode did gained popularity, it may cause "Excessive Anxiety" as per Hoyoverse. 😆😂🤣
7:43 last time i check genshin is top 4 in game on china 2022…
There are already collectible cards in Japan and China (both official and non official ones). Not sure if there are any playable one. But it would be cool if they did release like the ones u described.
no endgame, literally nothing about genshin is important at all..
Knowing HoYoYo and their ability to screw players i have the gut feeling that the card game is not going to be THAT welcomed when it drops. HoYoYo can't make ANYTHING that is meant to be simple and relaxing, they always add some nonsensical idiotic michanics and infinite hoops to jump into. I won't touch the tgc option, if some players like to be treated like circus seals, let them. I have had enough of jumping hoops for nothing.
Tbh i idc about the tcg.. but it would be interesting if we could add monsters on teapot.
Sanguosha would have been popular outside of China too. The base rules of Sanguosha is nearly identical to an older Italian board game called Bang! which pits parody versions of Spaghetti Western characters with a Sheriff, Deputy, Outlaws and Renegade in a hidden role game (Monarch, Minister, Rebel, Traitor respectively in Sanguosha). While the publisher of Bang! tried to sue the publishers of Sanguosha for copyright infringement, the case was dismissed as gameplay could not be copyrighted, only its expression.
Euro-style board games have been increasing in popularity over the past few years, starting from a niche player base to a more mainstream one. And with Blizzard brands slowly dying off, as a former Hearthstone player, I'm looking forward to the Genshin Impact card game.
They should animate the characters to do poses while doing Yuigoh style battles.
Tbh at this point if mhy do IRL card collection or the sticker book collection like digimon I would buy it 😂😂😂😂😂
It doesn't sound like the game's rules would work well, or at all, in real life.
Also with those rewards, most people won't play it.
I personally don’t have any hopes for the card game to be more than fishing was in Genshin.
The description sounded like nearly every card game in Final Fantasy where cards have HP, Att, and Def then slap each other turn by turn.
Heck, even Horizon Forbidden West had something like that.
If it catches on, fine. But all I see is a doing it until I get the new weapon then forgetting about the card game, like fishing.
Genshin shifting into TCG like…
Sangousha China
Pokemon TCG World Championship
Yugi-Oh International
Cardfight Vanguard Competitions
Magic TCG, Heartstone, & Weiss Schwarz
Imagine that one chinese player who plays with his friend, to beat his friend he needs to luck draw a diluc card to win the duel right as he draws he suddenly smiled and draws pot of greed note* pot of greed lets you draw 2 cards(so heaven sentence effect ), and draws a fusion card and a dark magician and successfully fuses benett and dark magician to become the unlucky magician which has an on field effect where when a protagonist magician got fused with benett you get -5000 dmg to your 4k lifepoints and lose the game and get sent to the abyss realm….
I'm not from china but Yu Gi oh is crazy popular, I assumed the original plan for genshin TCG was to release is on the real world, we already have figures why not cards ?
So we have characters released which are the lifeline of Genshin, weapons, Mora, Exp mats, artifacts, talents, elemental reactions, enemies all based on combat. And Hoyoverse wants to just sideline that and make something adjacent to that. As if the game is not casual enough. I'm not a fan, and I sure as hell won't be trying a new game from Hoyoverse if they treat their players as expendable guinea pigs to try out their new experiments. As you said, if I wanted to play a card game I would rather play Gwent in the Witcher
I mean Shadowverse does it with Shadowverse Evolve. Might as well
Card game will be like fishing and tea pot.
Some stuff for content creator for first 2 days. Then…
the only way theyll get me to play a card game is if they reward primos (enough to actually wish with) or have a rly gud weapon (not the trawler) obtainable from it.
They could rival Pokemon with improving the Fungal Taming and removing the gelly stuff.
Real time 3D Pokemon/Hillichurl fights! Developing normal Hillichurls into the big shield or axe Hillichurls. It would give them so much more money than any card game.
But the event will stay casual forever, so it will never happen, what a shame.
why didnt you say something about this all of a sudden this tcg has major potential
It's gonna get more love and attention cause the teapot gets more love and attention then the endgame
That's a really interesting take
card games are big but no one wants to really play cardgames elsewhere, ive come from a background of playing them and at this point im personaly fed up with them and know alot of ppl are as well, and no way in hell id be playing hoyoverses cardgame let alone anymore of their ips, its funny what happens when a company shows they really dont give a dam
Why not promote your product with Merch? Even if the card game doesn't become physical, I want: figures, stationary, clothing, and home goods!
no offence but literally everyone on earth knows pokemon lol, the craze in early 2000 was international
theres always market for cards even if it just collectable.
So basically comes down to one word: merchandising.
Good for their profits I suppose, but what's really going to matter to gamers is whether it's actually in-depth or have enough synergy built into its gameplay systems to give a crap about after a week or so when trivial novelty wears off. They hilariously repeatedly says that it will be a "causal" experience during a previous livestream, so don't get your hopes up lol
