A lot of people are crying out about the leakers hunt, but honestly, I feel like the conversation should be focusing on the harassment campaign on mihoyo after Raiden's release, which is honestly the biggest motivator for them to go after leakers. They have been getting death threats, people threatening to sue them, people threatening to report them to the CCP, people demanding for receipts (which is something, by law, that the consumers can ask for, which also means that their finance team will need to go through all the work to gather the receipts for them)…

    Honestly, the player base needs to learn to shut the fuck up, instead of saying shit like "The beta version could do this, so it should be able to do the same in the official release! This is a scam!" and spamming mihoyo in their feedback forms and social media. People are just announcing that leaks exist and harassing the company for it. Of course mihoyo would go after them, because to them, the leaks were the source of the issue. Until these idiot players can figure out how to shut up, this hunt ain't gonna end.

    At this point, my primary focus is to max the skills of my current party. I think Raiden Shogun will be the last new character I will be rolling for in a while.

  6. I would really like to see the community trying to show miHoYo that they need to change. Not only on the leak aspect, but in overall choices they do. I find Genshin's gacha one of the worst gacha systems I've seen so far (and unlike most Genshin fans, I play other gacha games, including other miHoYo games). I still can't believe people accept this system and spend more money than I've ever gotten, on a broken gacha system, to get a character or a weapon, and be presented with ANOTHER character or weapon. I kind of regret getting ONCE the monthly card already, imagine people who wasted more than a thousand to R5 a 5* Staff and only gotten a 5* Greatsword (You know who it is), to clear every gamemode and challenge in seconds, and stay the rest of the gameplay doing nothing, or even going to play other things, because the game is practically done with nothing to do in it.

    If people stopped being like "don't pull on this banner" or "don't do this or that" (while still doing these things themselves), and ACTUALLY stopped putting money in this "far from good" systems, I'm sure miHoYo would listen more to the playerbase, and stop doing other changes to the game, like changing Xiangling's voice for no apparent reason. I'm quite frustrated with Genshin's situation, because I really like playing it, and someetimes I want to play it more, but I can't most of the time, because there's nothing actually "fun" to do there, and have to go and play other stuff, or watch content creators doing more "fun" stuff because they "bought" the entire game, and can do everything they want. Do the Abyss? I've done it. I can't really "complete" it because I don't have actual "good" characters, because I often have to choose between bosses, materials, artifacts or stuff like that. The game limits the player so much that it almost makes you want to spend money to do simple tasks, such as artifact runs, because the resin system is another broken system they've done. But yeah, if I start to list every complaint I have with the game, I would be here for ages…

  7. I just want to share my 1 dollar thought here.

    Basically, what MiHoYo want is for you to enjoy and play with what you have, this is basically the rule of Gacha games in general. Most people who are pulling for META are sacrificing enjoy to be have great numbers, but if great numbers are your enjoyment, then that's good, I'm happy for you.

    Let me break some arguments here:
    "Genshin wants you to pull for META because the abyss is the end game and you need it to get more primos."
    Yet people who say this also want an increase in rewards, primos to be exact. From my perspective, MiHoYo made it that way so that you will not feel left out that much. See the contradiction to other people's arguments? They see that the rewards are underwhelming, yet they let META and Whale mentality to get to them.

    A good analogy to this issue is how people use smoking to de-stress. You're trying to de-stress to the point that you're not aware that smoking became a part of your routine.

    MiHoYo is stopping you consume leaks.
    People are now addicted to leaks, they don't feel like playing the game anymore because leaks are not around.
    The leakers are not really affected that much because they gain money from ad revenue when you visit their page, worst they didn't watermark the pictures correctly.

    See how quite similar the two are?

    Sad reality, you can't really get everything that you want immediately, especially as F2P. But let me tell you this, Genshin is one of the lest predatory games out there, not that generous but not too predatory. But, again, it is a Gacha game, you can get everyone on the long run; better, you can immediately if you are lucky. Saying this as a Gacha veteran.

    I don't know, I don't really have a dry period per update since I enjoy every bit of exploring and farming, I also have a life outside Genshin.

    I don't hope for people to agree with me. In the end, we can agree to disagree, right?

Well the thing with cracking down on leaks, while it might have the possible upside of getting rid of that one jerk who spoils the story everyone before it's release and acts like they are much better than people who make story theories, due to knowing information others don't, since most who look into leaks from what I see, do so for the character information, banner release dates and how the character works. Since well that does show a issue. for the testing out a character, the whole try before you buy thing, in the case of Raiden shogun. Make it hard to see how effective her energy recharge is, due to all the boost you get in terms of energy while trying her out. Making it hard to test out one of the major features of the character and know how good it truly is.

    If they are going to crack down on something like genshin honey. Which is the most harmless leaks ever. It's not like they do story leaks or anything. They just tell you about characters and how they work. Which sounds perfectly fine to me. For if they did story leaks, yeah that could harm or ruin someone experience, due to now having nothing to work look forward to, since they know everything that will happen in advance. While character leaks are different, since characters can change while still in beta. Mermaid priestess being a good case in point, once she seem like she had super hp scaling, than she was just a pure healer that is bad at applying hydro, now she seems decent with good ability to apply hydro onto your foes. Which seems rather nice, someone you can possibly use beside Xingqiu for hydro. For all these character leaks do, is give you more to talk about. Talk about will the character work like this when release, oh they change things, so you get to talk about how these changes will effect their playstyle and character. It just helps to keep the game hyped and talked about. Which if the devs are going to crack down on something like genshin honey, they are going to need to step up themselves and start giving players more information about these future characters and the like. Basically they have to do their own marketing now. When it comes to banner information, at the very least, we should have knowledge of all banners that will happen with in a 2 month time frame, if not longer. Giving people time to pick and choose who they want and desire to save up for.

    Which as for bad characters or weak ones. Well I think that would in the grand scale of things, would have the biggest effect on newer players who are free to play or low spenders, since if that character is their first five star. Well they might be stuck with them for awhile. Now older accounts, it's going to have less of a effect. Since well if you already have Ganyu, Zhongli, Hu tao, other godly tier support that is all build and gear up decently, [heck even weaker characters if they have godly investment can still get the job done as well]. Well does it really matter if a character sucks, when you already got a dozen or so other characters you can fall back on to clear the abyss for you? For at that point someone might just be collecting characters just to collect them. Which that is only from an account point of view. Which with how big some people are on the meta, to the point they just spam copium towards anyone who is happy with and enjoys a non meta character. It would be in their best interest as a company, to make units good balance units. So these who don't care about the meta, still get a good character that can 36 star the abyss with they can be happy with and these who do care about the meta can do whatever they want. For the reason creating a good balance character is important is rather simple, you want to give people a good first impressive. Any five star could possibly be someone first five star and you want them to be filled with positive experiences over that, rather than negative emotions and dread. Of course balance in this case is well, you don't want to make people feel stupid for getting Ganyu, only to release super sayian 3 Goku next week that makes Ganyu dps look like a three star. For you want people to make it seem like they made a good investment, so they will keep coming back for more. Ps Buff Qiqi.

  13. You cant help but have mixed feelings about them having the hunt decree but all im gonna say is I am thrilled to have the feeling of curiosity on what would eventually come in the future than knowing what will come out and disregard the current version and considering it as "filler" content.

  23. It ain't even about leaks honestly. Whatever youtubers say about characters they just gonna go with that group mentality. Leaks aren't goin anywhere. We're still gonna know materials and characters because it's gonna get leaked on Twitter and YouTube.

  26. For me, I'm gonna try to build as many "different types" of characters as I can. I'm gonna try building a shield bot, a burst support, a pure healer, an em slave, an er slave, and anything else I could possibly think of. This is so that if a character in the future comes that I like and they also power creep one of my characters, I'll just give them the set and leave the previous character naked

    I'm planning to build an EM bennett that uses t.fury so if ever that leak of Miko having a pyro and electro ult that alternates, I have a set for her. If ever that's not true, I can steal my keqing or fischl artifacts. That's gonna give her enough to be usable (assuming there's a better set for her)

  28. I don't like to pre farm, I prefer to get the character and then observe how they progress as I level them up. That's Also one way to keep myself busy doing something everyday, instead of maxing them out day one and then just stare at the screen and be like "now what! one shot a hilichurl?". But for a youtuber it's a different story because they need to do showcases and stuff.

  30. Never prefarmed before. Too much of a risk. I've always been the "save the condensed" resin guy. Whenever I don't know what to spend my resin on, I just hit up an artifact domain and splurge there… My friends always ask me why my artifacts are so much better than theirs, and it's because almost 80% of my resin goes into the artifact grind.

    Honestly I think the prefarming hurts the content creators more than it hurts the players… (since the youtube algorithm tends to pick up the "first and fastest" guides and give them the most views), so this new era of "no leaks" will sort of… punish the rushed, clickbait, low quality content creators, and reward the content creators who put more time and effort into their guides. Us players can just take our time to farm up the mats.

    And before anyone smites me in the replies – No, having no leaks does not hurt you as a player. It only hurts you if you're IMPATIENT and pull for a character on day 1. If you're the impatient type, or a person who tends to get caught up in the hype machine, then honestly you shouldn't be playing a gacha game (this is my honest advice from someone who has played video games for more years than some of you have been alive), because it can and WILL lead to irresponsible spending.

    Learn to take a chill pill, and save up those primos. Banners last for THREE WEEKS. You can pull at the end of the banner and STILL get the character, and by then, everyone would've dissected the character enough for you to make a good and informed decision (which in a game that has no ceiling on your spending limit is a VERY good thing).

    But of course, if you're pulling for the Waifu factor, by all means. Go ahead. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  32. I think people are exaggerating on the importance of prefarming ascension mats. What's really hard to farm if you're building a character from scratch is the artifacts and no one seems to be talking about it. I casually farmed my mats for Shogun in under a week, but it would take a really long time before i could actually use her if I only started the artifact farming when i got her.
