Dainsleif may have been assigned to watch her by Pierro who at that time was also a Madge in Khaenri'ah and she lived with him. I believe Pierro knew Dainslief's brother and also used magic and spells to make Lumine believe she was the princess! This was before Pierro became head of the Fatui! The timeline is really wonkie in Genshion, but the storyline is fantastic!
