A Gorou guide from out of nowhere? Not necessarily! This character is available for free! For those that are participating in the latest event in Genshin, you can accumulate tickets in order to permanently invite Gorou to your team!

For those that already have him, you’ll get a free Constellation instead.

Now if you’re new to Genshin and not sure how to build Gorou, I got you covered in this video as I show you how to play him, optimize his talents, choose his best artifacts, and arm him with the best weapons.

Gorou is a very niche character which should be worth noting that he can only benefit a small number of characters in this game. If you don’t have Noelle, Chiori, or Arataki Itto, your time and resources are better off building other characters.

He primarily buffs defense (DEF) and Geo DPS characters primarily. Keep that in mind if you are deciding on building him.

  5. Although you said gorou doesn’t work that well with Navia, just from my own experience he’s probably one of the best budget supports for her especially if you don’t have zhongli (and I don’t).

    The benefits Gorou gives is geo resonance, inturuption resistance w/ skill (when stacked with crystallize it’s actually pretty strong stagger resistance) and sucking up crystallizes with the burst. Additionally if you are c6, you get a small crit damage bonus, but base kit is serviceable enough. The team I play him on a lot is gorou, Navia, Furina, Dori but like for this abyss maybe bennet / xiangling might work better. For gorou since his skill only buffs defense, you can keep him all talents level 1 and you can level character level for survivability, mine is personally only at level 60 w/ 1 talents. I strongly recommend just using the exiled set since it gives energy to the team and he’s one of those rare characters that doesn’t really need personal damage. He’s also very good as a support just from his quick swap playstyle so you don’t really have to field him for that long.

  11. Gorou himself can be a shielder by stacking up EM and this shield has 100% up time in a rotation and automatically refreshes due to how his burst work. Best use of it is using Instructor and Elegy and he can be the shielder and EM buffer for Nahida hyperbloom or Hutao or whatever. It is also tougher than you may think because buffing defense result in less incoming damage and constant automatic refresh when the burst is up, he had always been listed as an alternative option for Hutao's team instead of Zhongli.

    You can use him as the shielder for any team that runs on elemental reactions of the 4 basic elements, or mono teams (with Gorou using Archaic Petra).

    -Noblesse Set, def/def/crit, 209% energy recharge, 1413 Def. 58crit.
    -Husk Set, def/def/crit, 212% energy recharge, 1624 Def. 59crit.
    Which is the best for Mono Geo team?? (Itto, Albedo, Gorou, Zhongli)
