i was speechless when I saw the trailer and I was like I DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANYMORE GIVE ME SUMERU NOW!!
i see the desert architecture design is mixed from mesopotamia to ramses II era. dude i can’t wait
also i just realized. that city built on the trees, looks similar to the LOTR elf’s nation
like the developers said they were aiming for a visually diverse environment. I see clear Egyptian/ Middle Eastern/ Persian influences especially in the desert region. And some Indian subcontinent/ South East Asian influences in the tropical area with dense rainforest. I hope hoyo can pull off mashing together a very broad number of the cultures they were inspired by. But Sumeru looks absolutely beautiful nonetheless.

Seeing Sumeru (which will probably be tied as my fav region along with Mondstat) makes me wonder what we have in store for the next 4 regions (is Kaeya home nation a region?)

1:48 Agreed. The Desert area looks like the representation of middle east (Egypt, Arab, etc.) and the rainforest area for south asian part (India, Pakistan, etc.)
