Some answers:
The map you see currently outlined with red is 4 nations and additional regions that technically belong to one of the 4 nations. There have been 8 nations announced, so the map is only going to get bigger and bigger. (Mondstadt: Land of Anemo, Liyue: Land of Geo, Inazuma: Land of Electro, Sumeru: Land of Dendro, Fontaine: Land of Hydro, Natlan: Land of Pyro, Snezhnaya: Land of Cryo, Khaenri'ah: No element). (I won't say more on this because spoilers.)
Jean calls Diluc her superior because when they were teenagers, Diluc was part of the knights too and back then he was the Cavalry Captain (the position Kaeya is now in) and both Jean and Kaeya were under him in rank. She still respects Diluc even though he quit and doesn't want anything to do with the Knights that was the cause of the awkwardness in that scene.
Paimon is all Heart and Stomach .. with very little space left over for Brain. Which is unsettling cos so often she says what i'm thinking.

Man… I like to watch genshin being played for the first time, but I always get bored so fast I drop it almost as soon as it starts… You're making it enjoyable, and the fact that you're following the story makes me really happy, with the way you're analyzing the quests I just know you'll really like the "deeper lore" that's sprinkled throughout many secondary world quests, I am not the only one that thinks that they're the best part of the game. There's little things to discover in Mondstatd even if it is the tutorial region. You'll get longer and more substantial world quests the further you go, but for Mondstadt i suggest to make a visit to the nameless island (it's an island off the coast of mondstadt that's not on the map)
For Liyue, even though there's more than one, the one I'd really recommend is the "Chi of yore" Quest, but be careful though, it's quite tough and co-op is locked out until you finish the quest, so you better be prepared.
As for Dragonspine, even though it's super rich in lore and side quests i suggest you explore it only AFTER you've become familiar with Liyue.

If you stream this game, you're gonna get so much backseating in the chat, it's unreal. The Fatui are the army of the Cryo archon. The Fatui Harbingers are like the Anbu. You'll meet most of em eventually. It's been like 2+ years since this game has been out, and we still have no clue about why our sister is evil, but the next couple of patches should deliver on some more lore. It's about that time.
Those who complained too much about paimon surely haven't developed enough maturity and understanding. The eccentricity of one's mind is being shown real bad.

The Fatui are "delegates" from Snezhnaya, so they're from another nation entirely. The ones you see in Mondstadt are just there on a mission, and they've even rented out an entire hotel. That said, not everyone in their elite forces (called the Harbingers) is from Snezhnaya. The Harbingers actually do come from multiple different nations.
Diluc used to be a captain in the Knights of Favonius, and Jean ranked lower than him at the time. If you want to know why he quit the Knights, you should read the official manga. It came out before the game released and takes place before the start of the game. It gives some insight on Diluc's past, while also introducing a few characters you'll meet in the future. The final two chapters still haven't gotten an official English translation, so you'll have to find a translation for those two elsewhere.

If you wanna use dendro character, traveler will be better choice here. You just have to run to status of seven in sumeru and resonate with dendro
